Oddly, I enjoy all Peter Davison's stories. Some of them are quite badly written, obviously, but I still like them and I've watched all of them multiple times. I think because they all have good bits despite the bad story. I feel like a lot of the problems in the writing stem from the amount of padding some stories have to stretch them out over the requisite number of episodes. Well, Colin Baker up next!
A "poll of polls" featuring the #1 stories in both Classic _and_ NuWho eras would be really interesting. With so many stories to compare, polls like the "Mighty 200" are always likely to be a bit iffy, but ranking the best against the best might give more definitive results.
You know, I think my problem with the Davison era is that it’s overstuffed. Most of the serials have 2-3 companions, people are coming and going constantly, we have The Master appearing so, so, so many times, all of the returning villains for Season 20, etc. it’s just too much, and it makes it hard to get a grip on Davidson’s Doctor. A shame, because he is very, very good at the role. I always wondered if it would’ve been better if Season 19 had been structured a little different. Have Adric leave in 4 to Doomsday because the character didn’t work with 5, have Nyssa and Tegan be the companions for the rest of Season 19 until Nyssa dies in Earthshock. Have Tegan exit for real in Time Flight. Then have Season 20 be a singularly brand new companion specifically written to be opposed Peter.
Can't really agree more with Peter's problems with scripts and funding. Funding can help a script be realized on the screen but you need a good script to start with. These problems would come to a head at the beginning of Collin's run.
Tegan is my favourite Doctor Who companion of all time. I think The Visitation is my favourite 5th Doctor story. But I think The Caves Of Androzani is overrated - Davison's acting is superb, but I thought the story was boring.
The Five Doctors was never designed to be a episode, it was shown as a sort of Tv movie or what used to be called a feature length adventure (as all four part stories of Classic DW were described on the cover of the BBC videos). For me, it's probably because Omega is more... muted. I loved his over-the-top shouting in The Three Doctors, so I was a bit bummed out that he's a lot quieter... and that weird mask.
I must confess Peter Davidson is possibly my least watched and least favourite era (not that I hate the fifth Doctor) of the classic run. Much of that is due to JNT really starting to put his stamp on the series, which had both it's pros and cons and a much more 'mixed bag' of stories, though I also admit some of the Davidson companions aren't amongst my favourites. It does rather mark the line between the classic first four Doctors... and the rest of the series. 'The Caves of Androzani' and 'The Five Doctors' unsurprisingly rank highly and I like both of those (though 'Five Doctors' mostly for sheer novelty value), I also recall 'Resurrection of the Daleks' being really good (and, being a London history fan, I like it for the location shooting alone) but really must refresh my memory on it, haven't watched it for years!

Controversial opinion time: Snakedance is a sequel that is better than its original (Kinda)...
They were on androzani minor
Peter is my least favorite and I hate that. Great episode notwithstanding. Looking forward to next week!
Colin is underrated!
Unpopular opinion: Rowan Atkinson is the best doctor
