Terrific video! I owned two 74's and an 1980. I personally loved the 80 to 82 style of the C3. Those seats were so comfortable and the body lines were flat out sexy! Thanks for taking the time to do this video. All of us C3 fans appreciate it!
The C3 was the most magical futuristic car that a 8-year-old ever saw in 1968. The C2 is marvelous (I have 3) but the C3 is a magic carpet ride look to it that you cannot unsee as a child loving cars. They make my knees weak to this day. they just had such poor body quality control. You have to get one that has everything lifted back up and tied back down correctly. I have owned only 2 because they just were so cheaply made. But a new restored one is the highth of joy
Thanks for all your time and energy on this one. I did watch the whole thing and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had to break it up into three viewing sections but still..... Some really nice cars included here.
Excellent photography of some beautiful C3 Vettes. The generation that made me want to own one when I grew up. Appreciate the close ups of the interiors, window stickers & selling $$. Subscribed.
Thanks for bringing back memories. I had a 1972, 454, 4 speed. Red with red interior. I let someone talk me out of it. Years later, I scored a c6 automatic ls2, atomic orange. I'm enjoying the heck out of it. Thanks again.
Jees Luis! Thank you....Seems like some very affordable vettes, some that are little fixer uppers...If I was there I might have pulled the trigger on one, which I have no room for unfortunately....Thank you again! ....PS...I had a Mustang 2 way back...wish it was like that one!
For anyone collector car-shopping, a Mecum auction is the place to visit. The selection and opportunity to inspect the cars personally is-I think-the best part. And I know I missed a bunch of C3s as these are fast-moving events. It has to be experienced. Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
Great Video,I bought my 79 C-3 in 2016, It was this or a 1977 Datsun 280Z, My budget was ten thousand. The seller in 2016 in Cali wanted $8500, for the "Z".. We haggled over five hundred. Looking in car trader at that same time..I saw a seventy nine Vette being sold in Palm Beach Florida which is somewhat local to me.I would save on shipping cost. I went to look at it and bought it, fast forward to now, put a bunch of money into it, and it looks great, its a White, Automatic mirrored Tee Tops A/C,Tilt,Cruise, ETC..with now airbrushed lines on the hood, reminicent to Speed Racers, Mark 5 from the show when I was a little kid..I insure with Haggerty, and they have a value chart, which is pretty accurate, if you want to know value (type in website)..just put in VIN and your options, and be honest about condition..I put good to exellent..its a runner now show car only used on weekends and trips to beach or gym
Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻 White C3s look great. Actually, any Vette in white looks awesome and I’m guessing that’s why all of the original 1953 Corvettes were painted Polo White. I’ve been insuring my Vettes with American Collectors Ins. for years. Actually, USAA recommended them.
I was 9 yrs old lived on the Ohip state campus area. When I first seen the 68 corvette the beginning of the C3 vette. One block over from where I lived. I had to pass it every day going to elementary school. Loved that car body still am. Still would love to have one.
Good coverage with some info. Would again choose a '72 since I appreciated the last year for metal bumpers but first for retractable seatbelts which were great since it was my only car for 6 years.
Thank you! 😊👍🏻 As far as I know, it is. And they are also having a Summer Special event, July 10 to July 13, 2024. www.mecum.com/auctions/florida-summer-special-2024/
I had choose to get tan 79 corvette or 79 El camino And I got the second one El Camino I the whole stuff back to Indiana from Texas. I still kick myself in the butt for not buying a Corvette.
Hello, appreciate the video, and time spent, didn't see the chuck miller sport wagon, lot T175, wanted to see what it brought, was hoping you covered it, I have a 69 sportwagon, 427 4spd, supposedly built by Chuck miller. Was curious .

That first white 69 C3 had the wrong tail lights, missing the white centered backup lens. It was the 68 that had all red lens because the backup white lens was under the bumper.
hi magik427.... just a quick comment. i understand that gm was getting negative reviews from owners who would get pulled over by police for having a tail light out i have a 79 and have to check every time i drive that i have both tail lights working to avoid a ticket. the c-4 eliminated this bad design when all 4 tail lights would ensure at least one working on each side keeping your vette legal. you know cops will pull you over if your not legal. what do you think????
In the beginning of the video, the tires on that white 1969 Corvette are worth a small fortune, actually I should say cost a fortune but in no way worth what they sell for, otherwise I'd have them on my own vehicle. If i were to guess, I'd say they've been on that car for 25 or so years.
How do I get 1 of these in right hand drive? Will need to be shipped to Africa. Been staring a photos of corvettes since I was a little boy in the early 80’s. Just love this car and the model shape before it too.
I haven’t been on instagram for at least two years. I closed the 76vette account and gave my 1976 Corvette Stingray page to a kid who has a blue 76 (he lives in Washington DC). Anyway, thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
Question ?? Does anyone know if the 85 mph speedo is supposed to be in a 79 vette ?? That is what is in mine and I believe it was put in by the previous owner. Makes me suspect that the mileage is not correct. I've been trying to find out but no luck yet. Thanks Jimmy
Thanks for your reply. Reason I am asking is that every video I've seen of a 79 Vette has a 140mph speedo. But perhaps you are correct. Maybe they used two types. @@76vette
The value of the 68 and 69 of course mainly depends on weather it's a small block or a big block in 68 gm made a 427 big block that put out a tremendous amount of hp and no it wasn't the common available 427 either. There were only about 10 of them made that put out more then 500hp in 68 only...
@@davemilligan1171 Who knows what the real story is. My guess is that someone took the big block out for some reason and then the car was sold without an engine. That’s how you end up with a Frankenstein Vette. Not uncommon. Unfortunately 🤷🏻♂️
They are beautiful cars I have a C3 1977. I’ve had it for 44 years beautiful car but they’re too small. They’re too small inside not very comfortable and they make a lot of noise. Mine ain’t that bad but I’ve been in some that are really bad. I’m much rather one of the new ones 2011 up. The C3 are good for collector cars but to be driving them around they’re very uncomfortable
