- Playing through the Pedal Pawn Texan Twang, a killer treble booster inspired by the legendary pedal that SRV used, made by Cesar Diaz.
Played everything through my modded Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and my Zvex Distortron (low gain mode), which I use to get that "cranked amp" sound at a reasonable volume.
The speaker is a Celestion G12T-75 and the mic is an AT-2020 right in front of the amp, no post editing.
I love this pedal and hope you guys dig the tones as well!

🤯 You’re amazing mate 🎸
Sweet!!! Bad ass and music to my ears 👂
you are one of my favourite guitarists! I think you should do more of this on UA-cam, reviewing pedals, guitars, et cetera.Superb!
A steak dinner for my ears. Defunkinglicious.
Absolutely dope playing🔥
Man, been digging your IG acct for a while, really great to see you on YT and dig this vid as well - thanks!!
I just bought one of these - it's great, a "set & forget" pedal on my board! Good to see you on YT as well as Insta mate - your feel is truly special - love listening to you play.
Great sounds, man! Keep it up!
Pedro my friend you really got me looking at that one. Killing it as always. Hope all is well
wow, killer groove and playing.
Gave me some Kenny Wayne Shepherd vibes. Great playing 👌👌
Awesome video bro! 🔥
Amazing! 🔥🔥🔥
Great guitar playing
That intro was so fucking sick! Where is my axe
amazing !
Woah! Your playing is outstanding. 👏👏 I’m gonna keep practicing to get as good as you. 😂
Thanks John Snow!
Great pedal great player
finally found ya on here fuck yes brother!!
🔥🔥🔥
holy shit the intro
o
Dude! ❤
Thank you, appreciate your input. You’re sound and playing is great. Love it.
Are you using that pedal exclusively? Not paired or stacked with other effects?
I’m going from the fuzz into the Kingtone Duellist (blues breaker side)! With any treble booster or fuzz pedals, I always run them into a light overdrive, be it from the amp or pedals, and that’s usually how they’re used in the SRV/Hendrix universe!
thanks for the licks haha keep to up, I'm waiting for my pedalpawn combo since over a month :( shipping is so slow (not pedalpawn's fault)
bom demais
Thumbs up more for the epic soloing than the cool pedal but as soon as I can afford one and convince myself that a sixth drive won't hurt then i will probably grab one
I’m really liking this pedal.
Ha, just what I need is another pedal! How do you think this will sound through a blues junior?
It would pair greatly with a blues jr!
Freaking pedal and you as a player....!
Way to kick it in the blues butt👍👌😝😜
Just curious if there's a way to get any less "ground" buzz & noise?
When you're cranking it, who cares but when you clean up and pull the volume back, the ground noise is a bit distracting from the awesome notes & vibe you're playing.....
A really good isolated power supply helps a lot, and a well kept and serviced guitar as well. But there’s always bound to be a little noise, especially with single coil pickups!
@PedroMakesMusic
I have Seymour Duncan “classic stacks” in my Strat…, zero noise while retaining the vintage tone of single coil pickup.
Give em a try.., you may be surprised like I was👍😊
hello pedro. i like your vibes ;) ! which tunning you play ?
I'm in D standard!
Awesome chops Pedro, do you have the fuzz also? That Strat you’re playing is on point brother.
D standard? Oh crap I guess I’ll go down that rabbit hole lol, never ends😅
@@davegilmer_Storyville4Life I do have the fuzz and a video of it here as well!
insane intro! its your music?
Yessir!
gosto da fender strat type "eu mesmo" lol
Just ripping it.
Can i get the backing track for practize.. Its awesome
Send me your email address over instagram DMs, @pedromakesmusic !
My issue with this pedal is where to put it in the chain...ive tried it on the end and im not very pleased with it, does not sound like it should. Maybe i should run it into a TS pedal and see if that helps
I would suggest putting it in the beginning, and hitting other drive pedals with it! That’s what I do at least, and how it is in the video here as well. I have the Kingtone Duellist (blues breaker side) on the edge of breakup and hit it with the treble booster! Hope it helps!
@@PedroMakesMusic ok thanks for that, I have a Duellist too. I'll try it.
Excellent guitar playing! However, I bought one of these hoping for the best...
I have a 60w 410 Fender De Ville and at full volume the 60w will make your ears bleed.
Having turned the Fender 60w amp up all the way up (with the guitar volume all the way down for safety reasons) and the Texas Twang pedal all the way up and on high...
the noise coming from my rig was extremely loud and distracting, and the tone really glassy and kinda muddy on low but to my ears NO SRV TYPE TONE. Very disappointing.
MAYBE I AM DOING SOMETHING WRONG... or perhaps I need just the right equip. to give me that Texas Twang.
However, to date, I have spent around $1000.00 just to come close to the SRV tone with various pedals. BUT NO GO! Honestly, I have gotten close to the SRV tone with just a tube screamer, reverb and a compressor running through my amp of choice i.e. De Ville, Blues jr. and my Marshall and my tube screamer only cost me $99.00.
I do always keep all the pedals I purchase (even though they don't deliver) as a reminder of how we are all constantly duped every day on the net with little to no truth in advertising. Very sad.
Just my 2 cents worth. Peace.
Try a lower volume setting on your amp, dial in a relatively dark sound, and engage the TB. It should not be to difficult to get a good sound on your rig.
This pedal is definitely not a “all the way up” kind of guy. For better or worse, you have to play around with it to find its sweet spot, but with the amp all the way up and the pedal all the way up, it’s bound to be a noisy mess! Hope it helps!
Dude that's a killer tone. What's the amp? Sounds like a deluxe reverb
It’s a Hot Rod Deluxe but modded to sound like a deluxe reverb! Good ear!
