When my wife and family and I lived in California and Nevada, we often went to Disneyland. We always wore hard footbed style but now we wear both. Birkenstocks we’re definitely our go to Disneyland sandals.

Which one do you get?
Yes sizing is a bit different between the same shoe size in different sandals.
I have both as well... I have the soft with suede straps and they are my most worn pair over the regular.... not knocking the regular foot bed they are great as well but seem to grab the soft more.

Got my first pair ok birkenstocks yesterday and I'm so happy. Got in it coral suade with soft bed and its so comfortable even my mom said she said this birkenstock is the best. She had birkenstocks for years wore then broken but never wore birkenstocks so comfortable before.

You did an excellent comparison/contrast of Birkenstock hard and soft footbed.
Birkenstocks were the “go to” sandals my wife and I used to wear on our many times at Disneyland in California.

There's another Brand, called Bonova. I dont know if available in Amerika but the Standard footbed of them is like the softbed of the Birkis. They are a lot more comfortable and cheaper. Unfortenetly they don't have so much different colours.

I just ordered the Arizona oiled leather in Havana in soft foot bed. I like the color of your soft footbeds
I’m going to buy the White EVA Gizeh for May, there’s also a trick to stop the EVA ones making a noise when you walk, a small strip of Velcro (soft bit) on the arch apparently, I will be trying that 😂
Got to wait until at least May in the U.K. for wearing sandals outdoors
I know what ones I want now as ordered and tried and returned a few months ago, it was the noise that put me off plus summer coming to an end, but now I shall wait and try again.
I have two Gizeh model and wear them with day dresses. They even come in soft footbed!!
I have worn soft foisted almost exclusively for over a decade. They have a comfort level from day 1. My soft food tend are my go to for everyday, hiking, touring and traveling when I’m on my feet for HOURS!
I just wish Birkenstock would make more styles in soft footbed!
The softbed markings are also in blue instead of black.

I think after wearing anything for over 12 hours your feet will be in pain. For me the difference in the soft bed and regular is that the original needs a break in time. I agree that you get used to the brick feeling and they get worn in. I suggest wearing new birks at home for periods of time to break them in so if they get too hurty you can remove them for a time and take a break.
The regulars are a little roomier than the soft footbed ones, I agree. (I have the Bostons in soft.) But this is the crazy thing - my first pair of Birks (Arizonas like yours, regulars) took forever to break in. Just when they were getting old and super comfortable my puppy got hold of them. My fault for not putting them away! So I replaced them - same style, same size, same oiled leather (just in a different color) and also regular. I thought I'd have to go through the whole break in process again, but they were perfect from the first day! Maybe Birkenstocks aligned something in my feet?
LOL I just had the same experience. My first Birks took FOREVER to feel comfortable, I was even starting to be like WTF and give up. I just got a new same pair (reg footbed) and theyre perfect from the get go....

i prefer the unisex shape, though i deem my footbed quite narrow in shape.
(owned the unisex arizona in black a year ago and broke them in in the winter wearing woolen socks.
it's wearing amazing right now.
got a pair of soft footbed ones with light brown oiled leather (for women), another identical pair for my mom, both quite recently.
Im bit disappointed with the narrow shape footbed "for women". would advise against this version to ladies with roman feet shape: the small toes area fit so awkwardly i have to narrow down the leather strap to the front to minimize stretching of that part of the feet. I'd say if u dont mind the look, pick the man's version for more comfort.
Definitely not a shape for elderly either imo. although my mom quite loves it, still think the unisex arizona would be better for older ladies.)

Hi there! I need some advise from you. The footbed (corks) of my Birks are no longer sticking to the actual rubber and to the strap. I got some advise from some shoe repair shops to just sew it instead. Is it advisable? Do you have a better suggestions?
I am getting ready to order my first pair, think I’m going to go with the soft. There are some who say the original is better and that the soft bed doesn’t offer the same orthotic support, but I am just not interested in weeks of pain and blisters.
I got my first pr, been wearing a week or so...no blisters, no pain. I love the support of the original bed. I don't ever want to wear a shoe from anyone else. I'm so obsessed!
@@kimmullins337 I wound up ordering the soft footbed, oiled leather Tobacco. They came yesterday. I wouldn’t exactly call them comfy right out of the box, but I like them. I was worried they would make my feet look huge, but they are actually pretty cute. I’m a little disappointed in the arch, it’s not as high or supportive as I was expecting, but I have really high arches, so that could be why. It’s likely I will buy another pair…and the next will be the original footbed. Maybe in a fun color. Or maybe the Florida. Also thinking about the Boston (clog) style for fall/winter. Thanks for your opinion on the comfort….I guess everyone has a different experience depending on their feet.
I have the Arizona eva. Do they run the same size as all the other Arizona? ( probably a stupid question)
its cus the other ones are for narrow feet: you can see that at the foot symbol on the footbed. filled food is narrow and not filled foot = for regular and wide.
What style are those with the green bottoms?
Also the soft bed’s writing is in blue instead of black.

Would you say the soft footbed still provides firm support? I could not wear the regular footbed as it was like trying to balance on lumps, but I still need firm support from the cork. As long as it molds to the foot and stays molded I'm good.

It looks like Sandcastle or Faded Khaki, i have the Soft Footbed Arizona same color but it’s called Faded Khaki in Nubuck leather.
U can't beat Birkenstock. They r the best shoe ever made. I had back surgery, and that was all I could wear for 10 + yrs.

You should try classic Charco sandals. They feel far better than Berks and designed for foot problems.

A bit confusing regarding the sizing. My understanding is all Arizonas are unisex sizes. A size 43 is a size 43, regardless of sex.

Strange soft bed was horrible for me , it never had the deep heel cup nor was up under the foot held in place as well, so old footbed

No, the soft bed refers to the extra padding in the heel . Birko-flor is on both pair , I believe its referring to the straps on the shoes .

soft footbed gets too mooshy after a year or so. i got mine rebuilt with a normal footbed

I have narrow feet, but I have not purchased any of their narrow footbeds. I have tried the unisex and the women's versions. The women's shoe is a bit more narrow than the unisex version. Hope that helps and thank you for watching! :)

After having these for a year what is the durability. I would imagine the original is better on durability.
I only wore these a few months due to the pandemic so I really can't say about a year. But, for the few months I wore them, they have held up really well. To me no better or worse than my regular ones. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help. Thank you so much for watching! :)
The eva ones fucked up my feet and made me have plantar fasciitis. Just stick to the normal ones.
I like Birkenstocks and they are Comfortable and I like to Wear them Without Socks and To Air my Feet Out and Birkenstocks are Better Without Socks

Excuse me, but your foot isn't molding to the sandal, it's the opposite: the shoe is molding to your foot.
