Dr. Raymond Moody - MIND-BLOWING Evidence Of The Afterlife - Near Death Experiences (NDE)

  • Dr. Raymond Moody, MD PhD
    In 1975, I coined the term near death experience in my book Life After Life. For half a century, I have researched some of life’s greatest mysteries. As both a PhD in philosophy and an MD, I have had a strong interest in how medical realities intersect with the ineffable realm of philosophy. In my multiple roles as author, professor, public speaker and grief counselor, I have heard thousands of accounts of near death, shared death and after death experiences. I never expected that my interest in the afterlife would become such a focus of my life’s work, but it has led me to great associations, friendships and insights.
    Throughout my five-decade career, I have explored themes related to the trans-personal aspects of death, dying and grief. In my book Glimpses of Eternity, I discuss the phenomena of shared death experiences. I write about my inquiry into past lives in my book Coming Back and share methods for evoking the dead, from Ancient Greece to modern times, in my book Reunions.
    I also have a passion for language, which I share with my colleague and co-founder of the Life After Life Institute, Lisa Smartt. My PhD in philosophy focused on unintelligibility and my new book Making Sense of Nonsense (Llewellyn 2020) discusses what nonsense teaches us about consciousness and altered states of being.
    For years, I have imagined a forum in which leading-edge researchers and thinkers could share their most up-to-date investigations into near death phenomena while also drawing upon the wisdom of the ancients whose practices and customs clearly recognized a life beyond this one. With the help of my friends and colleagues, I will share with each of you all we have discovered at the most fascinating frontiers of life and death.

    I have become obsessed with NDE'S since losing my son 2 years ago. It gives me great comfort to know we go on. I was also able to share my knowledge with my dying mother, who feared death...The day before she passed, last month,she said she saw my dad, who had passed in 2018. She said he looked good... I believe he came to help her cross over.

    Tia, I interviewed this brilliant, kind man many years ago at radio station Kiss-fm in Vancouver, Canada. We got on famously and he even invited me to his home. I still regret I didn’t take him up on his offer! There’s a peace that surrounds Dr. Moody. Ironically I now have the terminal illness ALS.I cannot thank you enough for having Dr.Moody on your program. This has given me great solace.❤

    I was meditating one day and was told to study “RAYMOND MOODY.” I didn’t know who this was. I went on the internet looking for him as I thought he was not a person who was still in the land of the living. As I continued watching NDE’S, I realized he in fact was a person who was still alive. I’m confused, however, as too what spirit want me to know specifically and I guess it’s the understanding that death really doesn’t exist! Thanks Dr. Moody for your research.

    From my experience of going back home, souls can get trapped upon the earthly plane because of guilt.
    How you treat others you as a soul, upon death you will be facing and feeling what you have done to others 🙏

      I've had a very strange life, after living with a deceased soul in the past for over 6 years.
      This person, initially, didn't realise that he was deceased.
      His communication was picture telepathy.
      He once told me in pictures where his upper denture was.
      Also communication is with poltergeist activity.
      This activity is to gain attention, their way of letting you know that they're present.
      Extraterrestrial communication is voice telepathy 🙏🙏
      I've been 150 metres from a triangular UFO 🙏
      They do however have knowledge of the workings of what we call time.
      It can be hard to differentiate between the two 🙏

    Dr Raymond 🙏
    I've been back home.
    When we pass we do meet souls that have been in our earthly life 🙏
    The other side is really strange.
    It's not that different from the earthly plane.
    Buildings and people.
    We lose our biological body, but our body is energy/atomic.
    We have the same body when we die/:pass 🙏
    You're spot on when say about chasing.
    Life is about learning, not about materialism or moneterism.
    How we treat others is most important.
    Especially young souls.
    Always try to give young souls the best start 🙏🙏

    What speaks to me the most about accounts of NDE’s. Is exactly what Dr. Moody has said, if you can practice a life of loving others, it eventually becomes second nature. It’s the Golden Rule. Jesus said in response to a Pharisee who’s asked which is the greatest commandment. Love your God with all your heart, mind and soul and this which is like it, love your neighbor as yourself. This encompasses all of the commandments. Perfect. This is what NDErs say, it’s about love, all about love. This combined with the out of body reports, knowledge they have no way of having… convinced me.😊

    I read Dr. Moodys book way back in the mid 80's and was hooked.....been seeking out the stories ever since....he came on a radio show in Nashville TN called "beyond reason" and people could call in and ask him questions.....of course I did....my question?...about the accounts of hellish experiences of the few and why he thought those people had those in stark contrast to all the others.....I can't honestly remember what he told me then and in all my spiritual quest that question still haunts me.....the best explanations I've heard are A. the person created the experience themselves for a reason, or B. those on the other side created that experience because this soul needed it for some reason......I'm not sure I have heard of an experience in the thousands I've heard where the person in hell was not taken out of hell before being sent back and that's a good thing....but to this day those stories bother me and not sure any explanation would change that.....anyway, love Raymond Moody so much

      it has been a big question for me too, because there are actually many accounts of hell. One thing I have realized is that if we are “selling our souls” to something that is not of God, then we are at risk of being tied to earth for eternity or at least until earth is destroyed. and that’s going to be a long time and it’s not going to be pretty. I do believe that there are dark supernatural forces that are fighting for our souls, but they actually have no power except that which we willingly give them. I also believe God has perfect mercy and forgives those who really were forced to make wrong choices by either life circumstances or a lower mental capacity. But we shouldn’t just assume no matter what that we’re guaranteed heaven just because we are alive. If we are breaking the ten commandments, and many people do without realizing it because they break the first one which is have no other gods. When we worship idols, we are going to put ourselves in danger of selling our souls aka tying ourselves to the earth. It’s a simple commandment but is really easily broken in today’s world where things like the law of attraction are in the popular culture, law of attraction is basically worshipping the idol of self, believing that our minds as magnets are the creation of our lives, instead of relying on a Higher Power for our needs to be met in an unselfish way. Our lives need to reflect our desire to be free of the world at the end of the day.

    Founded in 1967 by Dr. Ian Stevenson, the Division of Perceptual Studies (DOPS) at the University of Virginia is a research group devoted to the rigorous evaluation of empirical evidence for extraordinary human experiences and capacities.
    The primary focus of DOPS is investigating the mind’s relationship to the body and the possibility of consciousness surviving physical death. In general, this process involves studying phenomena that challenge mainstream scientific paradigms regarding the nature of human consciousness.
    DOPS also studies the impact of these experiences on people, explores the implications for scientific theory, and disseminates this information broadly to both the public and scientific communities. It is our hope that other scientists join in addressing the serious study of the nature of consciousness and its interaction with the physical world.

I know it's hard right now, but later, you'll look at it from a different lense and say to yourself, "if he wouldn't have left I'd never met "....". Until then, lots of love. Does the afterlife experience happen to EVERY human? To me it would seem it's "all or nothing"; i.e. everyone or no one. So, my uncle, in his late 80s, very intelligent, fully aware and cognizant, suddenly collapsed one day. Gone. Not breathing. No pulse. The person with him performed CPR, and he was taken to the hospital ICU. A few weeks later I asked him, "You were dead. Do you remember anything?" He said, "No. Absolutely nothing." I woke up in the hospital and I remember talking to you."
    So I ask, why did he not have an NDE or see the "afterlife"? Kind of makes me sceptical.

      Thanks for the "heart" but how about an answer or an opinion?

    • @stevew1487
      @stevew1487 4 дні тому

      Note you didn't ask him if he had an NDE, you asked if he remembered having one, which is perfectly reasonable but that's as far as your question or his answer can go. So to conclude from that data that he didn't have one is a leap of logic. It's just as valid to question the mechanism of memory as it is to question the reality of NDE's based on that answer. I'm not saying the truth lies on one side or the other, but the logic of the situation dictates that it remain inconclusive.

    • @tomskublics6399
      @tomskublics6399 4 дні тому

      @@stevew1487 Sorry but you're just talking "semantics". My relationship with him was such that he knew what I meant was "did you experience any kind of afterlife events?" Are you trying to tell me that the "fact" that some people 'come back from the dead' and said there was 'nothing' is a case of bad memory? I could just as easily say that the people that describe hovering over their bodies, seeing a tunnel, following a bright light etc... were just dreaming. Don't get me wrong...I'd consider myself a believer that death is a transition to some new level, new dimension. And hopefully we retain knowledge of this current existence. Hard to make a definite confirmation?

    • @stevew1487
      @stevew1487 4 дні тому

      @@tomskublics6399 Nothing to be sorry about really. It's just that words and semantics are inextricably linked; words have specific finite meanings and logic requires us to apply them within their natural bounds. All I'm saying is the fact he didn't remember anything means exactly what it said, no more and no less. It could either mean there was no actual experience, or that he just didn't remember it, but there's really no way to tell from the information given. As far as the reality of other's NDE's, of course no one can prove their subjective experience to another, we can only infer the reality or unreality based on common markers with our own subjective experience. For example, if someone comes back from a supposed NDE with knowledge that would have been logically impossible to obtain had the experience not been real that's an indication of its reality, such as people accurately describing events at some distance from their body at the time of 'death'; these have been documented. There are other kinds of knowledge of this kind as well. Another indication of some kind of reality to these experiences is when people radically change their character as a result of the experience. While certainly not proof, it is a strong indicator of an 'experience' causing a profound shift in outlook. Your premise that if it's not true for everybody then it's not true for anybody is faulty, because there is practically no parallel to that premise in any human experience, ordinary or extraordinary. It seems you're trying to apply the logic of physical matter to the laws, if there are any, of subjective experience. It may be some people have the experience because it is needed, while for others it may not be. That's a hypothesis, but a logical one, more so I think than saying all experience must be universal in order to be real, a premise which is obviously false even on the basis of everyday ordinary reality.

    • @tomskublics6399
      @tomskublics6399 3 дні тому

      To me, yes I agree, someone gaining knowledge through an NDE that would otherwise have been impossible to learn is pretty convincing proof of it's reality. I also think that there's a lot going on in this universe of which we are unaware, that is we are not perceiving quite yet. Things physicists are discovering about space and time and quantum mechanics, in particular quantum entanglement. Anyway I will leave this discussion with you now and thanks for sharing your information.

    Once you enter, you're recycled back to earth to do another round of "earth prison" if you will. Howdie Mickoski, Isabella Greene, Wes Penre and a few other subscribe to this theory. Personally, I think it's fear porn. Comments anyone?

      My belief, from what I've heard / read over the years, is that we come back to Earth repeatedly.. until we have mastered how to be as a human being. We keep going, until true enlightenment / understanding is reached. We must learn from our mistakes, pass a series of tests.. when we reach our best self, we go home.. we haven't yet earned our place in this higher dimension. Earth is basically life school. If we are bad people in this life, responsible for suffering / pain.. the test of the next life would be to overcome the suffering / pain that we were responsible for, unfinished business.. one can suffer and become vengeful, angry at the world, making it worse for themselves in that life and the next.. but if one accepts this suffering, humbles themselves.. overcomes it.. I believe in the next life that this person will be born under better circumstances, things will run smoothly.. and if good in this life.. remaining humble, with gratitude.. they'll be rewarded greatly in the next life.. the test then will be how does one be as a person under these new circumstances of great success / fame etc.. will they be humble as they were when they suffered? Or will they become arrogant, overlooking these rewards? Thus going backwards.. Each life will be a test, a test that must be overcome. There's no escaping this. I believe we've always been here.. and will remain here.. until we finally get it. Then we earn our place in that place we call Heaven, paradise.. for eternity.

      @@TiaReneePodcast, Hello Tia, I read The Tibetan Book of The Dead when I was 16 back in 1966. This helped me overcome some of my fear of the afterlife imposed upon me, via my Catholic upbringing. Clear Light, is how the Tibetans described God, a God that wasn't revengeful. Since then I've gathered a handful of NDE's from close friends and family members---some of them being exactly alike!
      Shortly after my 4-year-old son drowned in 1976 I read and found some comfort in Raymond Moody's LIFE AFTER LIFE book. It took me decades to find peace with my son's return to heaven, and reading dozens upon dozens of books and watching hundreds of UA-cam video interviews of folks who had NDE's has also helped me to heal. Thanks for interviewing Dr. Moody, he feels likes family at this point in my life.
