I think Charlie’s approach is great. He’s killin it! I wish Zakk would play the songs more true.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Great questions, kept the energy and the flow of the interview going. Engaging, funny, informative. For a non drummer, you asked alot of questions drummers want to hear the answers to. THIS is how interviews should be done.

I can not begin to express how grateful I am for this man. I have been an Anthrax fan since just about day one, used to have a big poster of Charlie with his white Tama kit, circa about 89-90 behind my drum kit in our jam room. The world premiere of Cowboys from Hell came on during one of the top three, if not 1st most important day of my life, and I can say with all my heart that this man influenced my life in music so much it's crazy. SOD, are you kidding! There are the constant arguments for the heaviest riff in history, well I'll answer it, March of the SOD. Don't argue it, that wins. Anyone remember that little show called Headbangers Ball? Yeah March was the effing theme song! Because it's the baddest ever lol! When I was a youngin and Lennon was shot and my parents cried, I was almost embarrassed. Fast forward to that terrible day, on the damn anniversary of Lennon, and I cried like a baby and quickly understood my parents. Seeing the success already of these Pantera shows gets me extremely emotional, because they all, living and dead, deserve it. Thank you Charlie for a lifetime of inspiration and being my top 3 favorite drummers ever, filling in for another top 3 favorite drummer and being as original as possible and even more so, you absolutely nailed Becoming, not that I'd expect any less. Thank you so much. RIP in Peace Abbott bros. 🤘🤘🤘

Great interview. For whatever reason, I grew up a metal head, but I had never heard an Anthrax song in my live other than when I saw them open for Pantera in '97 (saw Pantera 6x between '97-'01). But what a genuinely cool dude Charlie is, or at least he sure comes across that way in every interview I've listened to about this tour, including this one here. My family's from NYC/Long Island and it sounds like one of my cousins talking or something. And to state the obvious, he is just killing it on this tour. I salute him.

Dude I feel you ! I too played music from 1997 up until 2018 and never listened to them. He def sounds like a humble being and after seeing him play he's pretty damn good! Do you know bro I see a lot of mixed emotions through these comments about how people feel towards them doing what they're doing and I personally feel that we're damn lucky that Phil & Rex are still alive to be able to perform for us still and of course it sucks that Vinnie Paul and dime bag Darrell are no longer with us but I couldn't even imagine bro being in their shoes after everything that took place from start - finish And how fucking shitty Phil felt for years and probably still lives with some bit of resentment or guilt maybe not anymore but up until not that long ago I really feel like people should appreciate what they're doing and appreciate the fact that Phil is healthy minded and he sounds damn good right now I mean it's insane bro five years ago until now so whole different person bro that negative attachment that was caring his fucking ass down into the ground is no longer with him bro he defeated heroin which is insanity I couldn't even imagine being in that position ! Nor would I want to know. I can't wait for them to come to my area and I really hope by that point in time I make contact with their management group to interview him bro with allow me too and if I don't oh well but I would love to because Pantera change my world and they were so fucking on point and heavy and that's probably why I never listen anthrax I know they were heavy but Pantera was different anyways I agree with you ma'am and I appreciate you coming on here and tuning in one love to you and your family hope to hear from you on here again soon if you get a chance subscribe share like whatever they say have a good day bro

personally i think phil and rex should do the tour with the abbot brothers fans, friends, and youtubers. That would really honor them and the show would seal pantera legacy in the internet forever. There's a lot of fans that know how to p[ay the songs like they were born with

I know it's being met with a mixed critical response, but I feel there's so many people that need to know about Pantera! It's not the full band as we know, but they certainly have made the show a celebration for Vinnie and Dime! more so than expected! It's a homage and a education for those that are not familiar with Pantera. I can't believe Dime was shot! And Vinnie passed away way to soon! The world needs to know about Pantera! Rex, Zak, Phillip and Charley are doing a fine job.
BUT! ALSO...Zak is an astonishing player, but NOBODY can play like Dime! His solid state tone and ferocity is unique!

AIC toured for like 4-5 years before they went into the studio with William. Do I think Pantera is gonna do that without Vin and Dime? No, but using AIC as an example is poor considering how fresh this celebration Tour thing is. 4-5 years down the line who knows what will be happening..
