Sir, what you did for the extaction of TRIMYRISTIN the same way we have tryed it but we are not getting TRIMYRISTIN along with other compounds also. This is confirmed by sending to NMR spectroscopy. Sir What are the other procedure for isolation of single TRIMYRISTIN compound sir can you please guide us it is very important to me sir.....
Here is the journal of chemical education article that I used. They employed ether instead of dichloromethane. I preferred the dichloromethane because it is less flammable and therefore better for undergraduates. This paper continues with the hydrolysis of trimyristin. pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/ed048p255
@@americanwaffle1016that's wrong. I'm assuming you are referring to saforl, but safrol isn't in MDMA. It's just the starting point for the MDMA synthesis. Also the amounts are so small that it's not worth it.
I did the extraction with dichloromethane and the recrystalization from acetone. It is also possible to use diethyl ether for the extraction and ethanol for the recrystalization.
Trimyristin is a triglyceride, myristicin is an insecticide and hallucinogenic compound. They are very different structurally. Nutmeg does contain both.
@@Chemistryuniversityokay so I got a myristicin extract powder of 98% purity, I licked a few specks from my glove and am now worried of the effects I might have even though they consider 100mg to be a very low dosage. I'm unsure of the outcome this will have, hopefully no noticeable effects whatsoever as I don't want to trip balls from some powder I've ordered off of the net. I'm mainly concerned as its not crystalline form a normal view (I don't have anything magnifying glasses) and isnt an oil either. I attempted to trap/bond a small amount of it to sodium bicarbonate as it's so powdery it just basically dissolves into air.. it became trapped in the soda after heating the wet puddle lightly but has heavily uneven colouration, ranging from dark caramel to creamy yellow. Lmk your thoughts
Great video with new tips on recrystallisation!
Great video!! i love how descriptive it is :)
thanks now i can trip balls!
WOW!!! Your almost at 1,000 subscribers!!!

Do you mean extracting the myristicin compound?
Yes we are extracting trimyristin.
Is there MDA on it? Or is it a different substance?
No, as far as I know, the substance you are referring to is man made only.
@@Chemistryuniversity theres a chemical in it that is in MDMA and if you drank the oil or ate the nutmeg a lot of it you will trip

@@americanwaffle1016the substance you are talking about is myristicin while the one isolated in the video is trimyristin, which is a fatty acid ester.
Myristicin is the compound you are thinking of. Extraction from nutmeg is very tedious but the effects are intense.
You might need to turn your audio (voice volume) up a little.
God you never mentioned what liquid did you add

trimyristin plays comical tricks on you
what is the uses of this compund, some one please help

What's the difference between Trimyristin and Myristicin?

@@Chemistryuniversity Does this extract both? Also, would 100% acitone nail polish remover work in place up Dichloromthane?
😮
