    Thank you for sharing what you can do with this tool. I bought it for some straps to go on a crocheted backpack. It worked great!

    As a lifelong knitter (almost) I have never considered using a spool knitter for jewelry. What a good idea. Thanks.
    I do have a couple of suggestions for keeping an even tension, which is a skill all knitters must develop. Wrapping the yarn around your fingers while knitting can provide just the right amount of tension so you will not have to stop every few stitches to adjust. There are endless ways you can do this, so experiment.
    Additionally,you can block your cord after you have finished by pinning your i-cord to an ironing board. Pin it at one end, stretch it slightly, and pin the other end so it is straight. Then steam it with an iron. Don't rest the iron on it. Just steam it and let it dry. I think you will find the cord looks much more even. This works well with yarn. I've never tried it with ribbon, but it might be worth a shot.
    Thanks again for the idea.

    Because I am of an age I have to laugh in that we use to do this with an old wooden empty thread spool and some small headed nails. I "knitted these cords as a small child and then sewed them together to make rugs for my doll house :) I have to say this is pretty fancy doings for an old craft. Thank you for sharing.

      Thanks for mentioning that, Sandra. I'd thought to talk about the fact that the tool is just a fancier version of the ones made of spools and nails, but then figured the video was long enough. ;-D Oh, and I love the idea of making rugs for doll houses!

      just wondering if anyone who bought the clover knitter actually uses it .If so you deserve a
      A simple empty wooden cotton bobbin with small headed nails was certainly easier to use !

    Interesting, never though of using knitting with clay. Very unique technique 😊

      I knew I had heard it somewhere, then just today I saw a photo in Sue Heaser's Encyclopedia of Polymer Clay. It was Marie Segal who extruded strands of polymer and knitted an entire jacket! She says she used a high percentage of a softer clay, like the mold maker stuff (??) and a bit of regular clay. Mind you, this is REAL knitting, not the faux technique we see a lot of. Amazing.

      Also, here's a knitted cap she made. polymerclaydaily.com/2014/10/20/15138/comment-page-1/ Probably not very warm, lol.

    Hi Sandy, how do you knit with 2 or 3 strands ? I have eyelash yarns, I wonder if it tangles?

    • @SandyHuntress
      @SandyHuntress  6 років тому

      Donna DeCicco To knit with several yarns you just hold them together and treat them as one. I've used eyelash yarn and it doesn't tangle at all. Happy creating!

    Talk about how to use it, not what you have done, where you have sold it, and how great it is. Those of us watching have already bought one.
