As most of my jobs are a full days work, speed is not an issue. Cut and collection quality is far more important to me! Thinking strongly about buying this machine for my business. If I do need speed and brute force, I use my wheeled KAAZ, it's a heavy beast but almost unstoppable!
Your lucky cause u have the hayter for good weather and this is fine for damp wet weather i got a cub cadet 33 inch mower yesterday it's not all about John deere ha
I got one today as my cobra hydrostatic failed There wasn't much choice in the shop either this or a large hayter with tiny bag I used it today and found it ground out on no 1 setting and used 2 all day , it bagged up fine but a lot of roller spinning Found it hard to turn around and the silly back to front dead man -drive handlebars kept pinching my fingers It's useable but not a favourite after one day I'd rather have the cobra back please
Tom, its a tough one this time of year when its always wet, but in the spring and summer it's dead easy! Stihl collects great all year and has nice features folding handlebar etc. The Prostripe has the best engine. the better gearbox. is more manoeuvrable. can turn and go where the Stihl you have to do a J turn all the time I found. The Prostripe will collect in the wet but not as well although the bag with a lot of wet grass is quite heavy. Would honestly say have both for the reasons I mentioned. If your local dealer is a Hayter one then id strongly recommend the Toro. as you can get parts and fix anything easily, really well thought out on the Toro/harriers, will have a drive replacement video in winter. if your dealer is Stihl and always carries parts then choose Stihl if Toro Hayter dealer not close by. Get Prostripe!!
Have you tried the new and improved Hayter 48 pro yet Greg? Im a bit reluctant to buy because of last years model issues. I would go for a Weibang but they're just too damn heavy
Hi Andy. I haven’t used the 2020 model. Only thing different to my 2019 now is the engine which Hayter seem to really like. I’ve heard very good things from people that have the new one. I like to think all the main issues are now sorted. Stronger BBC pulley on 2020 models. New blade. Stronger roller bearings. Slower drive speed. I will recommend them to you. Ask your dealer if they have any feedback too. Wouldn’t get the weibang. Got a video comparing both 48 pros. The hayter has a better range of cut heights. Nicer BBC. Bags better. Smoother to use etc. Hope that helps
@@GregsMowing thanks for the reply Greg. That sounds promising. I have asked my local dealer but they hadn't had any feedback as of yet so I'll definatly take your advice. All we need now is for the rain to give us a break so they etesia can have a break
@@GregsMowing I have an Etesia Pro 46 PHCT and it is a beast, it cuts anything anywhere but why oh why haven't they done a roller version!!! I know they do a striping kit but still🤔
Andy M nice. I asked etesia last year why they don’t do roller mowers. Simple answer was due to sales of roller mowers in UK against 4 wheel. It’s only really UK that has them for gardeners then sport clubs around the world. It wouldn’t be worth the investment for etesia. Sure they would probably sell a few hundred but it takes a lot of money to develop prototypes etc etc. Claimed it took Honda over 10 years of sales to get their money back for the pro rollers on the research and development funding. So that is why from my understanding. I am demoing the phts3 in the spring. Need something to conquer the wet grass.
Great mower just keep the box clean and it fills the box every time 👍

Seems to be a nice mower tempted to get one as a back up
Another great vid, Greg.
Thanks Tim
So close to buying this, my only concern is the spreed. Is it slow. Thanks.
Yes its quite slow and many say not built for commercial abuse. expensive too.

Had the first of these when they were stihl green, enjoyed it, well at least upto the point some turd nicked it.
That sucks
A beaut machine 👍🏻
The Fully Charged Gardener it’s quite nice
I was really surprised about how this performed against the other mowers, collection in these are second to non, but speed wise I was disappointed.

Would you say it’s as quick as the Toro pro stripe in second gear.
No it’s more like speed 1.5. Prostripe lot more efficient throughout the year
Stihl or Toro Pro Stripe what do you prefer Greg

engine could do with speeding up
Why? Performed well
Too slow for me
Time is money
Hate Viking mowers
