Jim, I can't do the "you idiot" thing. As far as indoor drones go, be careful. There's a few setting you can change (depending on what you have) that will help the drone hover better indoors. Drones tend to gravitate towards walls and ceilings, so you want to turn off the GPS signal when flying indoors (ATTI mode on DJI products). Having propeller guards is a must have for indoor flying. Great video!

Jim, I know nothing about drones but have read about a feature that some have, I think it is called "follow me" which can be used to take videos of yourself jogging, biking etc. I wonder if such a feature could be used to follow one car in a train, so long as the track doesn't go under a chair.
This particular drone doesn't have that feature. Plus, I think I've pretty much decided that I will only use the drone outdoors. The experimental indoor shots could have been taken with a lot less hassle by just putting my GoPro on the end of a selfie stick. I'm starting to think about an upcoming outdoor model train video, in my back yard, and I think I will use the drone for some shots on that one.

No hobby shop 100 miles near me have ANYTHING. Online seems to be the only option but that’s a huge gamble assuming it works. Stay happy and healthy my friend.
HO scale is much more popular, so that's what local train shops usually sell. Of course, model railroading is just not that popular of a hobby anymore, so there aren't that many local train stores around at all. G scale is such a small niche that a local train store just can't make enough money to survive trying to specialize in G scale, except in really heavily populated areas. You shouldn't stress over trying to buy G scale track, though. It's super easy to do. Just buy your track from www.trainworld.com like I do. You order it on your computer, it shows up at your front door. Nothing to stress about, except for the money, of course!
When I bought a Scaletrains.com Rivet Counter Santa Fe SD40-2 engine off eBay the seller said that the engine had both DCC and sound when I checked it on my DCC track and it started making an electrical shorting noise, so I new it wasn't DCC equipped. I turned it off quickly and informed the seller that it wasn't as described. He apologized for the mistake and was nice enough to issue me a refund. Had I kept it on the DCC track a little longer it would have cost me double to send it back to the manufacturer. So get where you are coming from.

There was one LGB passenger car that the lights inside the car never ever worked from day one, and also one MTH passenger car that was exactly the same way. In both cases, I have multiple other identical passenger cars where the lights work just fine. And no, the on/off switch on the bottom of the car is not set to off. I also have one Piko locomotive that developed a bad electrical connection to the headlight after about a year. Other than that, I haven't had any problems.
Not between now and September, because we're moving from California to Washington state in September and right now we're trying to get rid of things before the move, not acquire more things. In our new house I'll have a lot more room for model trains, so I would think that towards the end of this year or in to next year there will probably be some new trains added to my collection.

You now have the new DJI Mavic Mini Two drone and it flies in greater distances, fights stronger winds better, it has better aerial video shooting and even work without WiFi connection interference between the controller and the drone because it's greater, better, and even more effective than the original DJI Mavic Mini drone! And the question is: Will you run the LGB Christmas Coca Cola steam train with DCC circuitry built in to it again or will you just keep it running on an analog control system? Jim, I can't do the "you idiot" thing. As far as indoor drones go, be careful. There's a few setting you can change (depending on what you have) that will help the drone hover better indoors.
