My son is 11. He is on the Autism spectrum and he loves your videos especially your Thomas and friends trains. Emily is one of his favorites. Thank you for posting all these videos.
Jim Zim has the top five favorite G scale locomotives of the 26 G scale locomotives in the collection of G scale model trains! Number five is the Swiss RhB Rhaetian Railroad steam locomotive #LD1 from LGB! Number four is Emily the Dark Emerald Green Safety Stirling Single steam Tender Engine from Thomas and Friends manufactured by Bachmann! Number three is the BNSF EMD SD70ACE AH diesel locomotive #9370 from MTH Electric Trains! Number two is the White Pass and Yukon Route Railway steam locomotive #52 from Piko! And number one is the Santa Fe Super Chief diesel passenger train #202 from LGB!
Greetings from Kennewick! I just found your channel because of large trains and I too love the F7 Santa Fe for the same reasons you do! My dad still has the old Lionel set from when he was a kid that I in turn got to play with back in the 1970s!!
Hello from across the river! There are LOTS of model train videos on my channel that include the Santa Fe F7... so, feel free to explore my channel and enjoy discovering all the videos I've been making over the last 10 years or so.
I can see why Emily is one of your favorites, because like her real life counterpart and basis the sterling single, Emily sure is a beautiful train indeed. After all, they have tons of beautiful steam locomotives in Britain anyway. Keep up the good videos. Sincerely - caring viewer and soon to be UA-camr.
Awesome video! I didn’t see what was so impressive about number five until I saw it up close and heard the sounds, and then saw that it was amazing! Number four’s a classic, who couldn’t love Emily? The color scheme is beautiful, and has an amazing train body! Number three is such a realistic BNSF locomotive! The sounds are also amazing! Not to mention that bright orange, it’s so cool! That horn is also great! That garden shot at the end of the BNSF part has me convinced that it was a real locomotive for a minute! Number 2 looks amazing! And the whistle is crazy realistic! Number 1 is a classic, it looks amazing, rides smoothly, and I feel like almost every model railroader had a Super Chief as a kid!
I am sometimes asked the very same question. I did have 5 favourite steam engines, but that's gone up to six in general. You can never have too many favourites. So here are my top 6 favourite steam engines, in model form and real life: 6. 3F 0-6-0 LMS tank engine Jimmy the Jinty 5. 4-6-0 GWR tender engine 7819 Hinton Manor 4. 4-6-0 GWR tender engine 4965 Rood Ashton Hall 3. 4-6-0 LMS Jubilee tender engine 5960 Leander 2. 4-6-0 GWR tender engine 7822 Foxcote Manor 1. 4-4-0 GWR tender engine 3440 City of Truro That's my list of favourite British steam engines. We all have our favourites, what's not to love about steam engines?😂
Since you mentioned the white pass and Yukon. I help with a tourist railroad in Oregon and a couple of our locomotives actually operated on the white pass in the 40s and 50s
@@JimZim It is the Sumpter Valley Railroad, near baker city Oregon. The engine which operated on the white pass is currently undergoing some boiler work. If you do ever come ride let me know and I could show you around to see the shop and everything
You've got a couple of great steam trains there! If you hear that there's going to be one of the "photographer's specials" where they drop photographers off alongside the tracks and then have the train go by... let me know. I'd love to drive down for one.
I have 2 Lionel model steam trains that produces smoke from the locomotive, which are the Strasburg Rail Road that runs in southern Pennsylvania, I have locomotive 475 with some passenger cars, and I also have a steam train Lionel set from the 1995 movie, Toy Story with all the movie characters and realistic sounds from the movie Edit: I hope you get at least 30 locomotives by the end of 2023 Another edit: Every time I visit Chicago, BNSF freight trains are VERY common there on Chicago’s commuter rail lines known as Metra, and on their BNSF line, those big freight trains are so common
Wow, you've certainly got an impressive collection of G gauge model trains! The sheer number of trains you have is simply awe-inspiring. It's easy to see why Emily is one of your favorites - just like her real-life counterpart and basis, the Sterling Single, Emily is undoubtedly a stunning train. And let's be honest, Britain has some of the most gorgeous steam locomotives in the world! Keep up the great work with your videos! 😍
4:30 I think I get it: "There's no one quite like Emily. Friendly, emerald Emily. You don't need to ask her twice When you want some sound advice. All those who know Emily Know what shows especially. She's got that certain 'You know what'. There's no one quite like Emily." (From the official song about Emily)
You have 26 G scale locomotives in your collection of G scale model trains! What are you going to get next for your G scale model train collection? As always I am Thomas Comeau signing off for today and also I love your collection of 26 G scale model trains, the new DJI Mini Three Pro drone, the house in Pasco, Washington and the American Cocker Spaniel dog, Carli!
I can never have G scale models . I don’t have the cash for it Not even HO . However I do have space for N scale . And Bachman have recently announced N scale emily . For me to just go and buy from them . Living in the uk myself and a hour away from york . I am just ONE HOUR . away from the real life emily being the GNR STIRLING SINGLE . and she is MASSIVE as a British engine and on static display along with Gordon’s basis . Being “LNER 4472 FLYING SCOTSMAN A3 PACIFIC” and he is also getting a n scale model for me to buy for myself However I don’t think G scale will be getting Gordon for them selfs . So sadly you can’t have Gordon in your life . Tho you can enjoy James and Emily in g scale forever more Enjoy your day JimZim . Bye for now 😊
My favorite one of your collection is the Super Chief as well. But do you wanna know what is my all time favorites train to date ever? The Southern Pacific Coast Daylight passenger train, promoted as the most beautiful train in the world
Beautiful engines Jim. I have the prodigy elite dcc system. Have you ever had issues programming a new address to your lgb engines? I can program piko but lgb only takes 3 or 128 as an address.
I've never owned a Piko starter set, but all the other Piko stuff I have seems to be of good quality. LGB starter sets are also good quality. Those are the two I'd recommend. Definitely buy some extra track, though!
I got #5 as well. The only downside on it's rarity value now is that LGB have announced this year 3 new versions of this Loco (Two black and one Green) with almost all metal construction and with even more features like steam releasing from the whistle.
That's interesting! Yes, I see the three of them on LGB's web site. I'm shocked at the prices! They'll be selling for $3000 USD... about three times what I paid for the one I have.
Unfortunately, they don't make that BNSF locomotive any longer. It was manufactured by MTH Trains, and their model number for it is 70-2136-1. You might do some searching using Google, and especially on eBay, to see if someone still has one for sale somewhere... but I think any of the big model train retailers would have sold theirs out long ago.
Oh, you're in luck! There's a new version of this product. You can pre-order it from Trainworld, and they'll ship you one in early April. www.trainworld.com/mth-70-2152-1-g-sd70ace-diesel-engine-w-proto-sound-3-0-bnsf-cab-no-9379.html

The BNSF EMD SD70ACE AH diesel locomotive #9370 from MTH Electric Trains looks and sounds like the real life full scale BNSF diesel locomotives in Washington state! Hi Jim. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any USA Trains products on your channel. Just curious why that is?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think USA trains ever builds DCC decoders in to their locomotives at the factory... you have to get them installed after purchase. That's too much hassle for me!
