Thanks for your continued dedication to the golf sim industry Roland. Just wanted to mention here that the Par2Pro screen you referred to around the 5 min mark is our previous screen called HQ. We have since moved to a new screen called SQ-W (Super Quiet Widescreen) which is a completely different screen. We have dedicate a lot of time custom-making this to be the best possible screen available. Looking forward to getting that in front of you whenever you have the opportunity.
Totally understand that. I will preface everything with the fact that I had that HQ screen for over 5 years and it held strong until the day I took it down. The only reason it came down was because I moved. I do not doubt the quality of Par2Pro's screens in any way. Hopefully one day down the road we can get a review in on your newer screen product.
Thank you so much for your video! It definitely helped me to make a final decision on what impact screen set up to go with. I’m going with the SIG10, due to my 13’3” width garage space. Not sure yet if I will go with the 4x10 or go 5x5. Love the idea of the softy but trying to make more room for the occasional lefty golfer. Bought a used TrackMan 4 which is coming later this week!

Roland, great review. We are looking to maximize a 10ft 2 inch wide space, no depth or height limitations will the SIG 10 fit? I do not see actual dimensions.

Hi there!!! So I just bought the SIG10 enclosure with all the fixins :) I am very excited! However, I’m starting to have some concerns on the overall dimensions width wise. I see assembled width is 10ft 10 inches. My space is 11 ft on the dot. I should beable to squeeze it in there, but I’ve read posts stating it’s more like 11 Ft 7 inches wide assembled. What is true??! Thank you!!
If I had the room I would have gone with the SIG12. Right now with Black Friday the difference in price is only $400.00 and you get an extra foot of height and width so it would be a more immersive experience in my opinion. I couldn't have done it in my space because it would have blocked my door going into the room. If you consider purchasing one reach out to me at roland@mygaragegolf.com. I'd love the opportunity to help you.
Excellent review - so seldom a reviewer will take the time to make a fair, balanced analysis that includes different pricing/quality options. I went with the DIY SIG10 which has a bit different size (8' x 10'6" x 5'). Well, once I received the actual documentation it turns out it is 8'4" high from floor to the top of the pole and it's actually closer to 10'10" in length measuring from the outside of the poles. OTOH if needed, one can always cut the EMT pipes to accommodate the room size - the part of the room with the enclosure is only 8'3" high. I was able to "snug" the bungee cords to pull up the slack when shortening the EMT pipes a bit, perhaps a nice option offering flexibility over the otherwise better poles you recommend... and much lighter as you pointed out. Happy trails.
Thank you so much for your comments. I always keep things as real and fair as possible here on the channel. I'm glad you liked your enclosure. They have recently uploaded manuals for each of the DIY enclosures with all instructions, parts lists, dimensions which makes things a lot easier as well. Have a great one and hit em straight!
Great video and channel! One quick note on your driver - it looks like you're setting up very heel side. I only recently found out your driver should be centered on the sweetspot when you hover the club behind the ball, then you can drop it down to let it rest on the turf after that. It may look very toe side, but that's actually the correct alignment. Hope to help!
Need your help. I will be using the exact screen you have in this video. Is Optima GT2100HDR okay to use with this screen size. Or do you recommend some other unit. I assume you are aspect ratio 4:3.
Happy to help. So if you are using the SIG10 screen then the Optoma GT 2100 would have to be mounted exactly 6'8" away from the screen. I don't love Ultra Short throw projectors for that reason as it gives you zero flexibility with where you can place the projector as it lacks features like a zoom lens, corner correct, etc. If you haven't puchased a projector yet I would advise spending a bit more and going with something with additional features such as the BENQ AH700ST. I'll be doing a full review on that in the near future. You can find it here on our website: mygaragegolf.com/collections/projectors-and-projector-mounts-1/products/benq-ah700st-golf-simulator-projector If there is anything at all I can help you with in regards to your setup please let me know. Hi there. Do you know if their DIY Golf Simulator Enclosure is made of the same materials as as their SIG12? Specifically, the sides, ceiling, and side netting?

Hey man, I’m getting ready to order an sig 10 or 12 and have a question. I’m putting my golf sim in my garage and went with the Mevo plus so that I could have right and left hand golfers. I’d like to save as much space as possible, but have enough width. Would an sig 12 give me enough width from the wall, or, would I still have to have a foot or so of right/left space to accommodate for both handed golfers? Also, do you have a discount code or anything so that I can help your channel out? Thanks, Will
Thanks for writing! The biggest question in regards to width is how wide it is in the area in which you are swinging the club. Sometimes you have more room with where you were swinging than you have for where you’re placing the enclosure. Ideally from the location you were swinging you want to have somewhere around 14 feet of width comfortably swinging from both sides without having to move the hitting zone. if you have that and you should be good. You have less than that the Mevo Plus does offer a little more flexibility within the swinging area for the hitting zone. When you go to check out, you can use our code GARAGE1 at checkout and it will credit your order to us as well as save you a small discount on the order as well. Please reach out with any other questions. Thanks again!

Which projector did you use and where did you mount it for the sig10? My projector is 11ft away from screen, and about 9.5 ft floor to projector and I can’t figure out how to fix the black rectangle that is being cut off the top of the screen. Can you tell me more about your setup? Thanks in advance!
I am using the Panasonic VMZ51U Projector you can find here: mygaragegolf.com/product/panasonic-vmz51u-laser-golf-simulator-projector/ I have it mounted about 13 feet away. The best advice depending on your projector is to move it back to make the image larger where it covers the entire screen. If you projector has corner correct, you can use it to shrink the sides down back to within the screen size. You have to cover the height and then shrink the width down, that's the only real way to do it. In order to accomplish this you must have a projector with corner correct feature however. Ultra Short throw projectors will not have this feature typically.
Thanks for the quick reply! That is very helpful. I’ll try that and explore the projector you’re using otherwise. One last thing, what is your floor to projector measurement? By floor, I am referring to the base of the enclosure itself so probably your putting green to projector measurement
@@alec7100 About 9 feet or so. You typically want to mount your projector about the top part of the enclosure in regards to matching that height. I have a drop down pole for mine. The more you have to tilt the projector at an angle the more likely you develop keystone issues.
May I ask are lefties hitting from this setup in your video? I see you are setup on center for it, but does the wall impact driver swing without offsetting?
@@mjmurphy53711608 Great question. In this setup honestly it really is only meant for right handed golfers because a lefty would hit the wall behind them with their follow-through. With most setups as with everything I normally recommend about 14 to 15 feet of width for a Center hitting mat or Center hitting strip. The space there is closer to about 12 feet so you could potentially swing an iron, I don’t think you could get away with driver with that little bit of width.

Certainly not the cheapest but you get what you pay for from my experience. The last thing you want is a screen or padding you are having to replace once a year or even more. Not all enclosures/screens are created equal and the really cheap ones won't last. I had my last screen for 6 years without having to replace!
Well me personally I use whatever I can get on the course but I totally understand your point. To be fair even the QED can use any ball you want provided you add the appropriate stickers to the golf ball if needed. The ones that come with it are Bridgestone balls. The EYE MINI can use any ball as well without stickers.
@GarageGolf just got my projector finally so I just need to make sure I keep clean balls for the screen. My downside is I switched to ProV1x Left Dash so those are more rare and expensive. Guess I'll only use when doing yardage testing and spin testing.

Have you tested both side by side? Just curious where you are getting your info. What features or feature do you like more about one over the other? What do you feel about quality of screens on both enclosures? Are you talking about the DIY Carl's Place enclosure where you source your own poles or did you purchase one where they shipped their EMT conduit to you? If so what do you feel is better about an enclosure where you use tools to put it together versus one that snaps into place and is color coordinated for ease of installation such as with the SIG enclosure product? Let me know exactly what you feel is better when you get an opportunity. As someone who has tested multiple enclosures and setups over the past 7 years I'd love to hear your honest thoughts on this.

Can you set up this impact screen without the black sidewalls?
For sure! Here is a link to just the screens if you wanted to make your own frame: shopindoorgolf.com/products/golf-simulator-screen-premium?aff=160. Reach out to me at Roland@MyGarageGolf.com if you have any questions. I'm happy to help.
@@GarageGolf dude..thanks so much. This was a very good review by the way. Perfectly detailed

Have a space that has 9 ft ceilings, 10 ft width, 16 ft depth. Was thinking Carl’s place. I feel as though the sig 10 might be slightly long. Thoughts?
The SIG10 is 10feet 10 inches wide with the enclosure. If you need 10 foot max I would go with Carl's Build your own enclosure. Reach out to me if you are comfortable to Roland@MyGarageGolf.com. I'd love to help you and send you our links for when you're ready. I'll go over your space with you and help to make sure you get the best setup for your money, all at no extra cost to you. Let me know if I can help Jimmy. Reach out anytime. I'ld love to help.
That’s what I was thinking and thank you for confirming. Will reach out soon. Thx.
How far away are you set up from the screen?
The setup automatically places you right about 9.5 feet away from the screen. Far enough away to swing driver but close enough to still swing a wedge into the enclosure. Let me know if you have any questions.
My man. Absolutely love the videos. New sub from me. What projector are you using?I really want to make sure my projector fill up the whole screen.
Thanks so much. In this video I'm using the Panasonic VMZ51U which you can find here: shopindoorgolf.com/products/panasonic-vmz51u-golf-simulator-projector?aff=160
However with this enclosure any 4:3 ratio projector could work. As long as the screen matches the throw ratio you are good for the screen coverage. The other thing is how far back you have to mount it and being able to avoid shadows. If you're looking for a projector reach out to me anytime at roland@mygaragegolf.com. I offer free advice and consultations so I'm happy to help you one on one with your golf sim build. Let me know how I can help.

Maybe I missed it but what size screen are you using in the video and how far back are you hitting from?
SIG 10 Enclosure: shopindoorgolf.com/products/sig10-golf-simulator-enclosure?aff=160
I am standing about 9.5 feet from hitting mat to screen.
@@GarageGolf Thanks. What are the specs on your other widescreen simulator?
The other one is about 16x16 over all for total space. The screen is 15 feet wide by 9.5 feet tall on that one. @@joesmith6972
I just purchased the DIY Sim with the same dimensions. What projector did you end up using with this enclosure and are you happy with it?
Very cool. Were you by chance able to use my link from the video to purchase the enclosure? Hopefully so as that’s the only way we really get paid to help people free of charge. What size enclosure did you go with? Let me know and I will see what I can do about lining up a projector for you.
Man, I apologize I didn't see the link before I ordered. I can try and reach back out to them to apply it now. What projector are you running in the 4:3 ratio in the video? Do you like it?
@@GarageGolf
Darn...ok thanks for letting me know. I think it's too late now as it has to be used for purchase. In this video I am using the Panasonic VMZ51u with the enclosure. It is an absolutely fantastic projector with tons of options on how you can manipulate the image as needed and it has 5200 lumens. Here is the link for the projector so you can check it out: shopindoorgolf.com/collections/projectors/products/panasonic-vmz51u-golf-simulator-projector?aff=160
Thank you.

Have you ever had any balls go through the enclosure at the Velcro seams in the right corner? I have another enclosure and shanks will definitely go through the Velcro seams themselves. Incredibly annoying. Thanks!
No, never had any issues like that with this setup. There is a large protective pad that covers the corners and the poles so there are no ricochets and this padding also prevents corner shots or golf balls escaping the enclosure. It is a very well thought out design. Reach out to me at roland@mygaragegolf.com if you are looking to place an order, have any questions or would like any up close photos, etc.
That was a great video. Very informative. What do you think a ballpark figure would be to get the 3,999 enclosure and gspro setup.
Thanks Mike! It would depend on the launch monitor of course but I'm happy to help. Shoot me an email at Roland@MyGarageGolf.com and we can go over some options and pricing for you based upon your budget and needs. I'm happy to help in any way I can and I don't sell anything directly.
Outdoor screens? W 12’ x H 9’ or 10’ Car port. Screen in front of an existing net.
I would say that almost anything can be an indoor/outdoor setup. This would be my go to in your situation. You can also choose between Standard, Preferred or Premium for screen quality based upon your budget: shop.carlofet.com/golf-impact-screens?acc=1ddfa4ccdcea53130b500eaabb190e4b
Let me know if you have any questions on anything.
Thanks again!

Discount code does not work
Yes, unfortunately I was advised I could not promote a 5% discount code off certain products on our site. I always do what I can to help my customers to the best of my ability as a reseller. If you are interested in products send me an email to roland@mygaragegolf.com and we'll create a custom quote for you and see what we can do to work within your budget and personal space requirements.
Looking at quotes. Seems to be 2 times as expensive. 1.5k vs 5k
Certainly not the cheapest but you get what you pay for from my experience. The last thing you want is a screen or padding you are having to replace once a year or even more. Not all enclosures/screens are created equal and the really cheap ones won't last. I had my last screen for 6 years without having to replace!
Too bad the sig doesn't take the screen to the floor like Carls.
Their SIG Commercial enclosures do but of course slightly different price point. Perhaps we'll that permanent change on future models.
Not using your real balls defeats having a sim. If you just use any ball then your speeds, spins will be off😊
Well me personally I use whatever I can get on the course but I totally understand your point.
Really wish your videos were not a big commercial. Sorry but it once was a review of sorts now it's the GOAT or the best or my favorite......
It’s cool… you don’t have to watch if you don’t want to obviously. That’s the beauty of the world we live in. For everyone else I’m gonna keep doing what I’ve always been doing and that’s being myself and giving honest feedback to people about golf simulator products. Seeing how, you know…this is my full-time job and everything now.
Carls Place is Better
