This takes me back to when I was building a solid look for Onyxia. Of course the vampire siren was provided by you which I still love, so many people would tell me that red and black weren't mermaid colors. They said I would stand out in the water and I kinda went, "Um...that's the point." Plus, Phoenix has received so much love form the mermaid community that I can't have imagined using a different color scheme for her.
My theme is opal. Her name is echo and she has white hair (may or may not have been inspired by you 😉) she has a opal colored tail and she is very sparkly
My color scheme has always been consisted of pale/dark hues of purple, navy blue, white, and hints of gray and black. Mermaid Leva is a "business woman/entrepreneur by dawn, mermaid by dusk", so out of water, I mostly wear a uniform (because of school and choir, and I want to be an entrepreneur soon~).
My mermaid name is Pearlissa and my tail name is Aquatacia I am a blue, calm, goofy, fun and a happy mermaid and my mersona is a posotive mermaid. I have brown hair and bright blue and neon green makeup and blue and turquoise tail and shellbra! And i have a fabric tail not a silicone tail cuz their expensive i still love my fabric tail tho. I completly agree with you in the issue of mermaids changing tails, wigs and colors in general... and I just realiced with your video that I will definetly need a wig for my mersona 'cause I usually keep my hair short XD I hope you don't mind if I use your style as an inspiration 'cause I fell in love at first sight with it, no stealing, promiss!
For my mersona, I'd just have my normal hair, and *very* little makeup (or no makeup), and the style is kind of a mix between natural and cultural, since my mermaid top would be a sort of wrap top in a light seafoam green color that is kind of like a scarf or something, and then this same material used as a cute little belt with a waterproof pouch for collecting underwater treasure, and, of course, some gorgeous Hawaiian inspired jewelry. The color palette is the same as the Pacific Pearl tail from Fin Fun, as that is the tail I will be using. I don't plan on working with children (I'm kinda bad with them, since I'm the youngest in my family, and have a short temper... :\ ) so I'd probably just be in an aquarium. I really like the design of my character. :3
Natural mermaid are always so pretty! I really like that you not only embrace your natural looks, but also that you plan to incorporate your culture into the theme of things too! ♥ Kids do take some getting used to for sure! Coming from a fellow short-tempered dragon, I can say that as I've gotten older, I've learned to control it better. So maybe that will be an option for you later on too? Aquarium work would be awesome though!! ♥♥♥

I might make a couple mersonas, because I don’t think I’ll go pro, and I love designing mermaid tails so much! My main one is Milo, they have short brown hair (my natural hair), no makeup, a green tail that is lighter on the front and darker on the back to blend in from multiple angles, and has a slightly darker green in squiggly lines on the side to mimic the look of underwater plants
My color scheme is greens, browns, and blues. With small accents of yellows and pinks. My style is very natural because my mersona is a fresh water mermaid. 💚

My style is anything bright colors! don't forget girly outfits like: dresses, skirts, shirts ,jackets, pants shorts, high heels, Flats, sandals ,shoes, boots, necklaces, bracelets, rings, headband, hair ties, eyeglasses, sunglasses, clip earrings, makeup. but not too much makeup I do not want to be in trouble by Mommy. I have a shaved head and I'm nervous that I won't be seen as beautiful without long hair I have wigs but I want to go as natural as I can for comfort, I just don't see too many shaved head mermaids (which does kinda make sense, how do mermaids shave their heads?? I could use some ideas!) Anyway, I want to be the opposite of you, a Kawaii Mermaid! My mersona is Mermaid Celosia (my favorite flower)! I just ordered my first tail (FinFun's Lotus Moon) and I'm so excited!

So for my mersona Azazel, my color scheme is going to be dark turquoise, dark brown, and sunset orange. I like my short hair so I plan on keeping it short but I plan on dying it auburn soon and I'm excited about it. I don't have a design for my tail just yet but I'm working on it still. I'm also a photographer so I plan on traveling so I want to be a traveling mermaid but also staying away from kids.
