Icom IC-7610 2 Minute Noise Blanker Demo

A quick little demo of the NB handling static crashes here in VK3. The Main VFO (left) has the NB Enabled, the Sub VFO (right) and audio heard to begin with has it off.
As you can see and hear in the second minute of the video, it is very effective in this service.
Please accept my apologies for the shaky hand - this was snapped up on my iPhone whilst playing around with other things in the shack.

I chose to record 'white' band noise because it provided a consistent background source, so that the receiver without the Noise Blanker turned on's meter deflection could be easily observed. If I had of recorded a QSO, the meter action would not have easily been observed. 73, Jarrad

Dear Bahathir, in this video too I have learned a lot, especially the importance of the introduction talk :). Sorry Jarrad, but without dual being turned on and not knowing how much if any attenuation was applied to the sub RX, this video showed us very little of any use, no offense.

The receivers are identically setup. Agreed it would have been nice to have audio routed to each ear, but I wasn't in the shack to make videos at the time :) 73, Jarrad

Hi Jarod vK3BL,
It will be much fun, if you show the NB in action during QSO or monitoring. I found the IC7300 NB is VERY effective reducing the puls type noise during QSO and monitoring...
Yeah, someone may find noise blanking the band noise is boring.. :)

It is boring for sure Bahathir, so I spared my friends 20 minutes hehe :). There wasn't much on the band last night, and whilst I did have a weak QSO going on, it didn't show the meter deflection as well as band noise. I guess it may be lost to people just watching without the audio connected directly to the camera in each ear, but the meter deflection accurately represents the NB action, so you can easily see how well it is working :). 73, Jarrad

Dear Michael, they're just the factory default settings. I can't remember what they are off the top of my head but if you'd like me to look them up let me know. Cheers, Jarrad

Hi, yes if you could. I have changed my NB and NR settings and cant remember what the factory settings were. hmm.... might have to read the manual :)
