One of the things I love the most about Honeylemon's fighting style is that she isn't just pressing random buttons on that purse of hers. It's just that she's literally *memorized* the periodic table to the point that she can think up the formulas to her chemical bombs *on the fly* and utilize it just as well as if she were still in her lab. Plus, she and GoGo are never pitted against each other for being opposites like any other movie normally would!!!

The death of Tadashi will never not hurt. Anyone with a sibling can just imagine Hiro's pain. It's really tragic for a Disney film actually.

In the comics, Hiro doesn't have a brother, instead he had a father who died and Hiro created Baymax to fill the void as well as implanting his father's memories and emotions. Which leads to a theory of mine where in the film Tadashi used his brainwaves instead to create Baymax's A.I. or something like that.

A note about dead parents, yes Walt’s parents did die and that’s the reason why he kills off the parents, but it’s also incredibly common in stories involving children because having responsible adults in the average story will heavily restrict the child protagonist’s movements. Parents are annoying for a writer because you will have to contend with the parents’ rules, about them punishing the child for their many rule breaking actions, and about possibly hiding secrets from them. It’s easier for the story if they’re unavailable or not present, so they’re usually dead since it’s the easiest way to explain why they’d be gone the whole time.

8:57 i dont think i realised the first time how deep this scene is. they all tried to stop baymax from killing because if he did, it would mean Hiro had ruined the best memory he had of his brother, and his dying wish- to save professor Callahan. it's very ironic because Hiro, in his half anger and insanity, ordering baymax to kill Callahan was in complete disregard of baymax's entire purpose as well as his brother's dreams. now the robotic nurse made by him that was supposed to help people, was trying to kill the very man Tadashi had died trying to save.

Also can we blame Hiro. He was so much relatable cause he saw his only family being burned infront of his eyes and then he got to know there was an traitor among them, that his brother's death was all so unnecessary and to some extent is someone's else fault that he died. Literally in that moment of betrayal I would also do the same thing even though I know it's wrong.

I really like Baymax's character. Aside from the obvious reasons, I think he is the most accurate robot character to be portrayed in film. Most storywriters will make an advanced robot by either taking a machine and adding a few quirks (Johnny 5, Chappie) or taking a human and removing a few traits (Data, K-2SO). Baymax manages to endear us despite being completely emotionless and logical. He's only capable of what his programming permits, doesn't dwell on past or future, and takes everything at face value. That he manages to make all of us love him is a sign of some damn good character writing.

  • @slinkysnake5578
    @slinkysnake5578 3 роки тому +266

one thing i thought about was the fact that baymax mustve taken his healthcare chip out at some point near the end, so when hes saying his "last goodbye" to hiro and hugging him, it was genuine. His programming wasnt doing that, which makes me wonder if when baymax says "tadashi is here" throughout the movie, he wasnt just talking about the video he showed. So maybe the moral of the story for hiro at least is that loved ones are always with you, even if not physically. Im probably wrong but its a nice thought :)

for the walt disney theory, i always heard it was because walt built his mom a house and it ended up having a big gas leak and blew the house up, killing her (and maybe the dad as well i can’t remember). i’m not sure how accurate that theory is, but it makes disney movies so much more emotional when you realize that walt probably included the theme of not having parents because of his own guilt and regret :/

You're mostly right. The house didn't blow up though. Right after Snow White became a huge success, he bought his parents a house in North Hollywood. Less than a month after moving in, his mother complained of a weird smell coming from the furnace, and it turns out it was a gas leak. Walt sent repairmen to fix it, but apparently they were unsuccessful, and the next day they were found unconscious by the housekeeper. His father recovered but his mother didn't. Walt felt responsible for her death.

This movie can probably trace back subconsciously to why I love Marvel so much today. It's because those same lessons of family and self discovery taught in Disney are also featured in Superhero characters in Marvel, so that it's not all quirky action sequences and unlayered plot. Stan himself loved Disney, so I can see why his comics will have a bit of a sentimental Disney flare to it. Also because of the fantasy element to Marvel. That's also why I love it.

Also, I think one of the biggest reasons that so many of Disney’s movies include losing parents is that so many of them are about growing up and coming of age. And losing parents and the people that are supposed to take care of you is a scary yet unavoidable part of that. ❤️ Something we all have to go through at some point.

19:08 the music in that scene is called Silent Sparrow in the score. It starts about halfway through the song at the 2:40 mark. I've listened to it a lot and it's one of the most emotional pieces of music I've ever heard to this day..

I mean, the story is loosely based off of a comic book series (which is wildly different) so if you just replaced 'comic book' with 'novel' it's exactly what Disney have done for several decades. It's not the first time though they made a film with another IP, Who Framed Roger Rabbit had Disney characters with Warner Bros and Paramount characters, though at this point Disney had acquired Marvel so it was all under their banner anyway.

Tea tree oil and rosemary is a really good to put in the humidifier it really clears out the lungs. Lots of rest, water. Don't forget to take a walk it's good to get some fresh air. This stuff helped me I hope it helps you too. Also I'll pray for you

I could never get that invested in Hiro leaving Baymax in the other dimension because if they were in a zero G environment they both could've gotten through the portal by just turning their backs to it and firing the fist rocket the exact opposite direction of where they wanted to go. Since Hiro is such a gifted engineer, with a knowledge of physics, he should of thought of that option right off the bat.

3:23 Walt Disney had parents but during the production of Snow White he moved his parents into a nice place so they could be closer but his mother died due to the house having some sort of ventilation issue (? Correct me if I am wrong) and he blamed himself for her death, hence why usually characters don't have parents or just one parent

**Side note: Big Hero 6 and How to Train Your Dragon 2 were both up for Best Animated Feature Award, in 2015. Big Hero 6 won. I love them both...but, the "How to Train Your Dragon series" is my all time favorite.

  • @warcatfurever101writeroffanfic

Rewatching this movie just makes me sad. My grandparents both passed away within 10 days of each other last September when school just started 😭😭😭 and now I can’t stop thinking of how whenever a death happens on screen of a loved one and a major theme is grief, all I can think of is my dad and his brother who don’t have parents anymore. And how the world just feels greyer without them, as if there’s something fundamentally wrong with the world now that they’re not in it anymore

8:53 legit me to at this part when i first saw it, baymax was the perfect breather after that heavy hit of feels since i also have younger sisters an like hiro grew up sharing a room with two of them till near end of highschool. but yeah when it happens it always feels surreal like never gonna know when may be last time to see them or something cause health stuff happens to, hence why always tried to say 'i love you' or that i loved them every time would part ways, even with friends because still hold a platonic love for them to and obviously care for them so want be on good terms when i can
