And with episode 10 Slave of The Scorpion marks the end of the season! Here are my thoughts.

I can't wait to see where they take it. Notably, Mira had iron shackles. That leads me to believe that Spear is on an isolated continent, but the world has progressed to at least the iron age.
I suspect Viking Warlords and sea monsters in the next season, but who knows.

This is the type of animation we need more for adult audiences.
No more comedies, no more immature dick and fart jokes, no more socio-political satire, no more blood and gore for the sake of mindless shock value, no more unappealing art, no more limited animation.
Primal shows that adult entertainment can go beyond gross-out comedies.

Studies looking at differences between Homo Sapiens brains and Homo Neanderthal brains show that Neanderthals have a massive emotional capacity, possibly more so than humans. Spear may be a hulking killing machine, but we can see that he feels so deeply and profoundly as well. He’s deeply sensitive, to himself and those around him, even when that includes hordes of barbaric ape men or a zombie monstrosity.

@Pedro Ortega ok I’m gonna say it. Rick and Morty is a good show...but it isn’t a great show.
There are genuinely well done emotional scenes and beautiful alien universes, but they rely too much on reference humor, an overly cynical viewpoint to the point of faux nihilism (which is why the 13 year olds love it so much), and a confused message.
Rick is a miserable loser who uses his intellect to hide his sadness, so why are there episodes like vindicators where he is shown to be justified?
Also Vindicators was a fucking terrible episode, if you want a deconstruction of the Superhero genre, watch Invincible, the Boys, or even The Tick.
It would have fit the message of the show better if the team were true heroes and Rick was just projecting his shitty view of the world onto them, only to realize he was in the wrong at the end.
You know...like they did with all the great emotional episodes that everyone remembers?
TLDR you right, Primal is better than Rick and Morty.

@@CharlesJThomas Speaking of which, that's another thing about _PRIMAL_ that needs to be appreciated more: the animation. I can't tell you how many times I've recently got bored of DC's movies because they often animate with what is obviously TV budget, it's looks very standard and often generic and doesn't stand out as much (as well as some music soundtracks for many of them), but _PRIMAL_ pushes the boundaries more because not only is it animated by French animation studio Studio La Cachette, but you can obviously tell Adult Swim spared no expense and gave the show movie production budget (and a more memorable, kick-ass soundtrack), that's extremely rare.

Absolutely amazing show, and to me very unique. Ultra gore? Yeah, it can be hard to watch, but the story behind the mess is worth it in my opinion (well, unless you have a true unshakable fear/ phobia of blood and guts, it's understandable to avoid entirely). I'm surprised you didn't bring up episode 8, which holds the most in story telling in season one. Heartbreaking? Absolutely, and without a single actual word spoken.
I mean I can go on and on, with each episode being unique in their own stories and being interesting all the while. To add to the night feeder episode, I liked the detail of the victims holding true fear in their eyes at the very last second. It's quick enough that you can see it and your mind fills in the blanks with possible nightmarish abominations. What is so terrifying that a sabre tooth tiger suddenly looks helpless? Or makes the biggest dino in a herd (I think they were pentaceratops and not triceratops, but they're almost the same size so I'm the only one who cares) suddenly try to run immediately after thinking of defending itself? It also helps to see the carnage while it's happening, as you feel as helpless as the dinos in distress. It's one thing seeing the aftermath or hearing it in the distance, but it's a whole other game when you see something's best efforts be wasted so easily.

Episode 9 fucking enthralled me right from the get-go, but what really drove home the sheer danger of the Night Feeder to me was twofold. One, it was perfectly comfortable with diving headfirst into a herd of healthy adult triceratopses and two, it didn’t just kill its victims; it PULVERIZED THEM. With the way it hunted so boldly, with such ease, and in a way that almost no predator on Earth does, I was almost expecting the Night Feeder to be some kind of alien horror like a Xenomorph or some Lovecraftian monster.

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

Fang is a T-Rex, or at the very least is based on a T-Rex. End of story.

@@kade-qt1zu No, there are many kinds of carnivor dinos who looks like a T-Rex but are not all the same size. The T-Rex was the biggest kind, bigger then the adult carnivore that ate Fang's babies. Fang is one of the smaller ones. Dont remember its name tho, would have to look it up.

What a wonderful and beautiful show. The show makes me care for the cave man and dinosaur. The animation, colours and music all are outstanding. This gets 10/10 not one sour note in this series.

Everyone praising this show like theres no tomorrow when its more of a kids show then an actual kids show, everything is so blatantly forced down your throat that its impossible to miss what they are trying to make you think, make you feel.
I could watch AS revival of samurai jack without sound and would get whats happening on screen and it would probably be more interesting.
i had high hopes but it really is a show for cavemen.

Is your supposition that it’s boring to fully understand the story someone is telling? I hope my question doesn’t come across as defensive. It’s okay to have a different interpretation of something like this, and you’re the first I’ve noticed, so I’m interested in what you have to say. I, personally, find it quite powerful that Tartakovsky is able to evoke his message to the majority of his audience.

There's always an asshole who tries to ruin shows for other people trying to control what people should watch

Meh, to each their own. Don't like the show, don't watch it.
More for the rest of us to enjoy.
