On the position at 25:00 - I believe it was Tal who said that positions where all your pieces are hanging are usually still playable for reasons of your opponent only being able to capture one piece at a time.
I would say your chess skills are almost as good as your teaching skills. All the other chess guys would make you fall asleep in their lectures. So you are the best at something!
I have to admit that the Schrantz video was the first one that I had watched on the STL youtube page. However, the guy screaming in the video was very annoying. I looked up the comments and many of them were saying: "Schrantz is no good, better watch (Mr. GM) Ben Finegold". So thanks to this video I found you sir. Etc.
at first I thought you were a bit mean. But after watching your videos I realized your brusqueness and jokes are all innocuous. When you lightly roast the people in your classes, it's always kind in spirit. Keep up the good work, I learn a lot watching these vids.

@@s.mendoza5705 what are you even on about? watch his video and you'll see that he does actually win legitimately. If Carlsen did disconnect in the end, then it was in a completely lost position anyway also, he beat him a second time, except this time in Chess 960
Im a little disappointed about the confused audience in the comments that thinks a random permutation of 'frankly ridiculous', 'very suspicious', 'etc. mainly etc.' and 'terrible' will make them look like a sedulous disciple of the sacred art that is the Finegold school of chess humor. But they were confused before the video started, so i guess its ok. Anyways, their indolence and insolence is unefficacious! About Nh2?? Carlsen wasn't in too much time trouble but he did what we all have done in chess (he said this in the post game interview). The thing was he knew that Nh2 lost immediately so he was looking at lines with Qh2 and complications and aaargh calculation (it's very complicated). After a long thought he went "ohh I could play Nh2 let's do that" and regretted his decision later. We all have done analysis and one move is clearly incorrect but we forget that during the analysis on go "oh i could play (that bad move) and it's simple" and we lose :)

It's a risky position 'cause after castling the King moves to the g8 square and if he gets checked, he has nowhere to go since the rook is on the way now. The white Bishop and Queen are indirectly attacking the h7 square, threatening mate in very few moves. He could try and protect with the knight to f6 but then the white pawn on e5 can just take the knight.
