    Pro tip: flip the door shade Upside-down so it pulls down from the top to open. It makes it easier to crack it open a sliver to peek outside because it's now at eye level. I would definitely get the theater seat and prefer the 12v fridge. Lighter cabs are the way to go for me. I like this rig.

    I would go with the dinette, or the sofa bed. got to have somewhere for my little man to sleep.
    double up the solar. 12v frig. very nice kitchen, inside and out. great storage everywhere. the shade in the door is a plus. definitely the awning over the slide out from the factory. the rear hitch is also a great extra. it's going on the list. thanks for showing both options.

    Our exact camper - first one with the dark interior and 12v fridge. It's the perfect camper for us. Need to be under 28' (city ordinance), wanted private bedroom and outdoor kitchen. Fine for boondocking, but probably need a daily generator charge unless you do some major energy conservation or you are in full sun. If you do use shore power, we love the fireplace. Pumps out tons of heat. It feels bigger than it is - had the in-laws with us for a weekend, and we didn't feel crowded. BIggest negatives are lack of major outdoor storage and the bedroom is a little tight. There is nothing else out there that checked off so many boxes. Job well done, Rockwood and Mr. Nerd.

    This is a sweet little camper!!I love a sofa, my husband loves a dinette. Dinofa!
    The bathroom has some nice storage, but I kind of like a walk-through bathroom especially in a smaller tt. Maybe the toilet would have more space if it were a walk-through. Also, love the darker wood tone, love the pull out storage trough in the back! Rockwood, brilliant!!

For a football game there was enough room for me to bring my zero gravity chair in and lay back. If you want a small camper that gives you options, this one is it. Rockwood’s web page shows Solar as standard which indicates to me that it should still be there even with the 2 way fridge. But manufacturer web pages (somewhat inexplicably) often lag way behind what’s actually being sold. That’s a major industry wide failure in my opinion.
    If it was mine I’d get the 12v fridge, dark interior and the theater seats. I personally think that without the Dinette there should be factory installed cabinets on either one side (if they don’t want to center the furniture) or both. It just looks unfinished with all that empty space there.

    I like that darker woodtone, adds a warm feeling to the camper, the lighter wall colors and the front kitchen make it feel bigger. As much as I would like the guest space the dinette offers, I'd pick the theater seats. Travel access isn't good on this one, l do like the passthrough storage on front bed models and a full queen, none of that means I wouldn't consider this model though, it has a lot to offer.

    My vote is theater seat and Newport Ash. I also like the power stabilizers that are on ours. One less tool to drag with us on every trip. I’m not sure about the rear drawer. How many camp sites have you been to with no or limited rear access.

    Theoretically, how cold could you camp in this thing before the lines freeze? Even with the tank heaters? Does Rockwood still offer the upgraded axle for larger tires? Also, what type of water heater? Do they still use a separate water heater tank or did they smarten up and use on demand propane? Can air heater be powered by propane and/or electric for boondocking/shore if needed?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 роки тому +1

      Rockwood doesn't offer specific data on their cold camping so from an official/professional point I can't offer any specific numbers
      But we have a guy here in a conventional stick and tin camper with no enclosed underbelly or tank heaters who has survived a night at 17 degrees (though he said he kept his lines bleeding slightly to help keep water from sitting/freezing)
      It would have to get and stay *really* cold to fail

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 роки тому +1

      Water heater is gas/elec/dsi/fast recharge
      Still a tank'd water heater. I like on-demand but the marketplace as a whole has been very skiddish about adopting it though I see that slowly starting to change
      Fireplace is elec-only. Requires shore power or generator

    As we are looking for a couple trailer that is light - this is a nice trailer. Dont like the camp queen but worry about the space if put a true queen. Is it true that sometimes its better to go with the screw down jacks over the power cause you can put a little weight onthe screw downs to help level if needed and the electric are just stabilizer. A local dealer told me that. As I said before, we want a Rockwood Signature 8263mbr, but cant tow it, so we are looking for a couple trailer and REALLY like the Rockwoods but have been looking at the Cougar 22MLS as an option. An more recommendations?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  3 роки тому +1

      About the jacks: No.
      Stabilizer jacks are for stabilizing. Not leveling. There is a difference.
      But in my experience I've always felt manual jacks provided more stability though I think that gap has closed a lot over the years
      Without knowing things like your vehicle and intentions I really have no idea of what to recommend. I see too many comments daily to remember each person's vehicles based on previous posts unfortunately. You're at a point that I would have to recommend speaking with a sales person.
