I like the Forest River Wildwood, and while it’s missing a few things, it also has the most potential…..
In the bathroom I’d not only install a retractable shower curtain, I’d have someone professionally install a surround in the stall for shelving but to also make it even more waterproof than without it.
A fold down sink, I’m sure someone makes them…
If there’s a microwave/convection that be hanged under the overhead cabinets along with a toaster oven too.
You could also wedge a cheap book case in between the of the counter and the bed for more counter space and storage too.
I could go with either a fixed bed or a Murphy bed, but you couldn’t have the book case against the counter it’d flying all over the place.
Sorry for rambling, when I saw this rig’s layout and the things it’s missing, I started thinking about improving everything….

The JayCo 166FBS is the only one that would work for me. Azdel, decent bed area, but finding a mattress that size might be hard. At 9:49 - I see that mattress and feel 🥴, that needs to be frisbee’d ASAP. On the first one, I so wish they would have an option for no bunks. The ability to store a bike, put a small desk or whatever you want in there.

    • @BrittMFH

That particular bunk area could be converted bc there's only a wheel well under the bottom bunk. I took note of that right away!

Agree about the Jayco! And the mattress 🤣🤣🤣 What were they thinking! They could make the Aurora like the bunk beds in the Class C Murphy bed Coachmen Cross Trail. The bunks we're like Murphy beds and you can store gear! Thanks Erin!

@@RVBlogger - They we’re thinking a $30 foam mattress pad would save them a few bucks. I know and understand the logic, but I found buying odd shaped mattresses can be very expensive. We needed one with a corner indent, and the difference between a square one and one for our bed was over $350. I’m weird, bought a foam one and tried to cut it down. As I was flailing my ex wife set up the camp stove and stuck my bush knife on it, brought it over calling me names and it worked great. Men are stupid. 😊

Thanks Susan and Mike, well done. I think that each of the three are about $10k over priced. A person would need to invest a couple of grand just to have a better fit out in any of them. For example: #1, sleeps 5, hahahahahahahaha, okay, have fun with that. Just a weird rig. #2, what's up with no window on the door? All rv's should have a convection microwave. The sofa looks and probably is cheaply made, and a Murphy bed would be better. #3, lol. Stupid shower, toilet, east to west bed, kitchen sink, receptacle placement in the kitchen, and no side splash guard near the stove. Also also, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Thanks for your work.

Hello from Puerto Rico USA!!! Many travel trailers on the market now are coming solar prep ready with one solar panel and a lithium battery. But you will need additional panels and batteries depending of the length of time being off-grid. We typically review the RV floor plan and not get techy with solar, water heater and holding tanks since we tour three different models in a video. Helps to keep video length a little shorter. I like the wildwood for its simple functionality but yes it needs a murphy bed, a small sink in the shower booth would be a plus too, in other wildwood specific videos this model has a small fridge with counter space on top and a rather unecessary fireplace, basic campers should not have that thing, and personally a small fridge in such a camper suits its style better, a huge fridge should be complemented by a dinette, microwave and three burner stove with an oven too, the idea of bare basics is just whats needed I wouldnt even mind a wet bath in such type of camper

Hi Mike! We are looking at getting the Aurora 16BHX which we accidentally stumbled upon while shopping used RVs. Only thing I notice is it’s advertised at a Dry Weight: 2,969 lbs and GVWR 4396 making it a perfect tow for our bronco which is limited to 3500lbs. Hopefully these numbers are accurate as the ones in the video would not make a good fit for us to tow. We’re excited for this as our first camper and had no idea we could have so much rv for only $15,998 almost feels like there’s a catch!

    • @RVBlogger
      @RVBlogger  Місяць тому

What's the max towing capacity for your Bronco? We recommend that you only tow up to 80% of your max tow capacity. So if your Bronco's max tow capacity is only 3500 lbs then we recommend you only tow 2800 GVWR. In this example you would need a trailer that weighs around 2,000 lbs UVW so after you load it with gear and supplies it weighs around 2800 lbs. GVWR. I hope this info helps you out.

We are aware of the recommendations, however we are at sea level practically here in south texas and will only camp around here and pack extremely light and minimal and plan to only fill on water near our sites. We are also getting a blue ox pro sway hitch and a trailer brake controller installed on the ford as well as possibly a tune. Down the line we are thinking of upgrading to a heavy duty suspension and bigger brakes which is the main draw backs in towing capacity with the broncos and not the engine/trans and the same pairing in the f-150 pulls 9,000 lbs

Jayco micro best design of the three. Except open shelving in bathroom or anywhere is a spill disaster waiting to happen.
Hate exterior doors with no window. Looks super cheap to me.
And finally the two burner stove front to back with glass cover! 👍🏼
But these convection fridges are cheap to make is why your seeing all RV’s now come with them! Such a fail, as these little rv’s never come with the battery bank to run them. N Newbee rvers are never told this. 🍻

I really hate to say this because I’ve been such a huge fan for three years, but your content has gotten pretty boring and predictable. Are you on the Jayco and Forest River payrolls? There are lots of interesting things being done in the trailer industry, but you seem to have a few favorite brands that seem to occupy 90 percent of your content.

Might be the area they live in. I have a Coleman Rubicon 1608RB and here in Idaho they’re made with an off road design. But from what I understand they aren’t available on the eastern side of the country. We seem to have quite a few different RV’s than what I see from bloggers who aren’t in the west.

Sorry you feel this way but we appreciate your honesty. We shot these tour videos from RVs that were available at the Hershey RV show. Forest River, Jayco, Keystone and Winnebago seem to be the largest brand dealers in this area. And that is even more apparent in the under 20' category. We actually keep a spreadsheet of previous RV models so that we do not duplicate content. We are expanding our market a bit more by reviewing more 5th wheels and other RV styles...more coming soon.
