In this video, Levy Rosman did not, in fact, neglect the stare. He purposefully removed it to make the statement that all things are finite in this universe, and we should treasure the things we have and the people we love dearly.
I give this statement a 10/10 in lieu of the usual stare score

In watching a precious GTE vid, Gotham decried his sub for playing exactly this, saying "I don't know what Gotham Sub is doing. Maybe they think they're playing a Reverse-Vienna Gambit, cuz this is kinda like the Vienna, but this is 'poopy buns.' All this move does is lose a pawn. You can't play the Reverse Vienna; that's not how chess works." A year later he makes a video over this exact gambit.
I simply love the fact that we have additional video evidence of Gotham growing as a person. Love all of your vids, GC. (I also just happened to be watching older GTE videos (favorite series on YT, indeed) and recognized the structure of the gambit, having recently watched this video not too long ago.)

You might think that just blunders a knight, but taking it is a mistake because White has Qh5+ with a devastating assault on your king. I doubt many opponents will even see that, but I figured it's worth noting if you're going to begin playing this opening often. Cheers!

I’m a fairly new chess student, but want to make a point about bishop to G5. Pinning knights and taking is a (slight) sac for the sake of disrupting pawns. Blacks king side pawns were whacked at the open by pawn to F5 so the bishop sac is not necessary. Maybe the bishop would have been more useful on E3? Or a fianchetto since the light square bishop is also aimed at black’s king side and it’s really up to white whether the center gets opened. Idk.

Hey watched you on Lex's show, loved it. A lot of the personal stuff you went into reminded me of myself. Just wish I didn't suck so bad at chess (float between 850 and 900). LOL. But I can bench more than you.

I like it when he uses the word "CRUSH".
Because chess is one of the most brutal game in the world.

Question; at 3:40 if that fork presents which do you take; Bishop or Knight? I know bishops are better for open games and knights for closed but I'm not sure on balance which to prioritise if presented with a fork

At 7:30 the great Levy says they can’t really move the knight anywhere. I studied kf7 in this position and I can’t see a good enough response from white to understand why they can’t really move the knight “anywhere”

This is one of my favorite openings against 1e4! I win most of my games against lower and higher rated players. There is a phenomenal line that ends the game quickly with this if they move queen to D2 to pin the pawn. You're spot on - first is black queen to e2 blocking the pin, wht knight goes back to g1, then black moves knight to f3 to protect the check....then if they try to attack the pawn on e4 by going pawn to d3, move the other knight to D5 attacking the queen, queen will move back to d8 and you just sac the knight and take the pawn on f7, if they take it with the queen, they lose the queen and the game in 2. :) Great vid! Thx for covering this opening - you showed me a cool variation I never saw (pawn to b5). Going to give it a go next time I can.
