One of my greatest chess brags is that as a 10 y/o tournament player (rating maybe 1600ish) in the 90s, I would almost always sacrifice the knight in the opening if it forced the black King to take. I knew my opponents never knew what to do, and being down 3 points in material meant literally nothing because they could never stabilize the position or fully develop even half of their pieces. Seeing this "alien gambit" now as an adult who sucks at chess kind of makes me proud, because I know I've accidentally played this opening as a kid. But that's enough ego stroking for one day.. thx for the uploads Gotham. I'm rediscovering chess as an adult and loving every minute of it!

For me, the most impressive part of your play was wandering into a "losing" position against a 2100 and finding checkmate like 6 moves later. People can say what they want, Gotham is a killer.

I heard of this first through Eric Rosen's channel, and as a C-K player I figured I should do some analysis. The c5 idea was surprising, but Torch suggested b2 (to fianchetto) as a response, perhaps an alternative to Levy's c3 suggestion.

I play the AG against 1000+ ELO opponents and the most common move after Nf3 is still Bg4. It blows my mind. It’s like Caro-Kann is a system to them and they don’t know what else to do.

I love these kinds of plays. Unfortunately I play 30+20 classical and they are not super effective after a while. But I used to open with the Polish and it was a super fun time.

Man got rolled by the 1300, I don't think the Alien gambit really does well, Gotham basically only won because he put a lot of pressure with his experience as a way higher rated player.
Gotham won with it against titled player, and WittyAlien plays it against gms, ims etc and does pretty good
It’s better in bullet and not in long time controls
That player was a 1700 btw. Probably just hasn’t played enough blitz to get high elo
@@Idontwanttoexistt in bullet, where even GMs blunder their queens all the time. Having wins doesn't even mean they score better when they play it than when they don't.
@@hiroku_nokamuroof course (I know the player in real life) he is better than 1300 (he has 1600+ in rapid) he just plays less Blitz than rapid.
But also, he was the last one Gotham played against (he’s just the first one in the video) and he had watched the games Gotham played against the other two so he was also bit better prepared.
Everyone just strait up blunders their bishop in that spot? 😂😂 the fact that its the most common move is like the funniest thing ive ever heard.
I guess many people just play it on autopilot thinking "I pin", and that's where the thought process stops XD

There’s a new gambit called the giga-ooga gambit. It’s where you lose 2 pawns and an entire rook, and then black plays g6, then you plat Qh5 and hang your queen.

This gambit is too strong, change my mind.
I played g5 in a game but the computer said it was an inacuracy after Qe7 however my opponent (1800) rated took the rook and I got a lovely pawn checkmate
The origin of this opening undoubtly comes from the desires to check the king with the queen diagonally and for that purpose this pin must be destroyed by a knight early on, to try and get many king checks with the queen. Other checks possible too.

Man u should really try this on bullet chess(1min) at your level. Witty Alien already won against many Gms.A little bit of studie and u would crush your oponents and get lots of content( and brilliant moves)
To play the Alien Gambit you must play like Witty Alien.
Make a few turns to set up but then sac and attack. Keep initiative and calculate like a monster

I faced this 2 weeks ago and can confirm, I got absolutely demolished and had no idea how to play against him
I’m brand new to chess, only 2 games with my mom I’ve played. This opening is absolutely wild. To force your opponent to fumble being able to castle within 10 opening moves is so critical. This channel is awesome. God bless you whoever reads this.

@ItsChessBlazer I'm no expert but I can offer you advice like at your current level, maybe try including big names in your thumbnails/titles like you could say something along the lines of "I played like magnus carlsen" or "I played faster than hikaru" or "pre-moving against bots series" stuff like this seem pretty eye catching and for your thumbnails, you can continue to do what you're doing but when you include the name of a big chess personality like magnus hikaru Hans or any other big chess names you could use an image of them and an expression to describe your video atmosphere. I hope this helps
When I first got back into chess, I experimented with this at like the 600 elo level and determined...nothing because it's 600 elo chess and I could hang literally all of my pieces and still win

Hi Levy, I'm curious what you think about 5...Be6 as a defense against the alien. White can get a similar structure but black has a less vulnerable king since it will retain castling rights. I'm still learning but it doesn't look as bad to me!
My first impulse after the move as a 1500 would be be6 btw which I really wonder how well it does
