- just wanting to show you fishos how healthy my beach worms keep using my technique shown in my second beach worming youtube plus two enjoyable afternoons fishing using them i only managed to catch small fish but there were a few different species but unfortinately didnt catch a yellowfin whiting but it was fun if you watch and enjoy THANKYOU. a like or even a subscribe would be nice

Great video David very well done. I preserve my blood worms in methylated spirits 60/40 sea water for an hour. Then ill dry them with paper towel and freeze them. They last up to 6 months before they fall of the

Please use a rid stand,PVC pipe into the ground, so you can focus more on the fish
Sorry late reply, I do have a PVC rod stand you can see it between 11 : 10 and 11 : 14, but I would rather hold my rod when fishing so I don't miss to many bites.
I really enjoy watching your videos. I've often wondered about the good numbers of juvenile flathead around the metro area. I catch quite a few wandering the sand flats around Seacliff. Very few seem to make it to a decent eating size. I grew up in NSW and you could always rely on getting a couple of nice flatties, not monsters, they are rare of course. But the 30-35cm range.If you have time , I would be interested in your opinion David.
Hi ben Jarmin, I know what you mean the small flathead seem to far out number the larger ones I have memories back in the seventies there being huge numbers of small flathead Victor harbour and Maslins beach being a couple. I recon its a great example of what a important role this gulf has for breeding, but yes where are all the bigger ones. Its always been the same, there are areas where you are more likely to catch the bigger ones my favourite areas being reef and ribbon weed(broken bottom) but as you say they don't seem to be with the little ones. they are a top fish aren't they always a welcome surprise, bait fishing and a great fish to target with lures or a moving bait. I have learnt they respond well to burley. Salt creek 42 mile crossing there use to be heaps caught I've seen photos of so many flathead also caught myself but now pretty much gone you don't hear any more reports of flathead there. I have got a spot for nice size flathead, wish I had time to go more often, and the water is around 30ft deep. I've heard its pretty good over NSW for flathead. Thanks for your reply David, I guess it will remain a bit of mystery, I'm sure geography/water temps and man etc all play a part. You're right, we all love the Aussie flattie despite those nasty little head spikes that seem somewhat unavoidable when knee deep in water. Plenty of other species around here to keep us busy though 👍

thank you and nice to hear you enjoy my videos. Waitpinga can produce a few salmon through the summer time but its important to be there before crack of dawn if there are a few fish around they will leave for deeper water as soon as the sun pops up also some tommies and mullet might be caught throughout the day, also right at the end of the day and throughout the night can produce salmon during the summer time also possible mulloway and shark, my son in laws caught some nice salmon about 6 weeks ago before the sun came up then they were gone. Mullet and salmon will be picking up from now on and Parsons, all the best mate.

Hi mate, thank you for your comment. Yes we do get sand fleas over hear, they are very small i don't know much about them, i have though they are the same as sea lice but I'm not sure...All the best with your fishing Cheers David.
Hello David , firstly happy new year and all the best for you and all your familly and thanks again for all video you made . I have a question for you like you are a great fisherman , I went to fish for whiting 2 weeks ago the weather was very good just breeze and clear water . I caught some sand worms just before and then I began to fish , I can see some whiting turning around and no bite , nothing seems interrested them , they just ignore my bait :( Do you know any reasons why they do not bite ? may be I did something wrong but I don't know what. I was there 2 hours before the low tide and stay there for a while . Thank you
Hi Pascal and a happy new year too you and your family as well mate. fish can be like that some times my dad always said to me its hard to catch fish you can see and in a lot of situations its true, I've watched whiting swimming around and a lot of the time they use the same track like a invisible road I cast my line well ahead of them anticipating where they are going to swim so not to spook them that works sometimes or you use a light running sinker rig and slowly keep your bait moving turning your reel and if that fails they are feeding on something else. G'day Kevin, glad to hear you are getting a few ideas for fishing thank you for saying mate. Gee I haven't been at all lately will be soon though. Yes I do freeze my left over worms they do get a bit sloppy but are still better than nothing next time out fishing or even mixed in your burley.
You could try the methylated spirits and red food colouring method
Works really good and after freezing almost just as good as live worms. Just fill a jug up with metho, add about 4 to 5 drops of red food colouring and drop your worms in for about 30 seconds, take them out onto paper towel give them a quick dry and then just put them in a freezer bag and into the freezer. The red food colouring just helps them keep abit more colour after they've been in the freezer.
Get a bit of pvc and save your reel :)
Hi Adam, I did have a pvc rod rest with me but as usual lay my rod and reel on the beach often wonder why my reels get full of sand lol, my dad use to call me the wrecker. Thanks Adam keep me on my toes.
dave, thnks fo the time and effort you put in. i catch my worms at maslin beach but can be difficult as the professionals work this beach regularly.is caracalinga beach an optionnorth of the surf club a spot to try?
Hi Mate, from the Normanville SLSC and north to caracalinga beach is all good worming country also caracalinga north beach is worth a look. This beach is seperate from the others and the road comes to a dead end.

Hi Shaun, no there is no limit on how many worms you can catch in South Australia, thats good so you can preserve some or freeze some for future fishing opportunities when you can't get out to catch any.

Hi fishy friend I've used and owned both, and my personal opinion is that they are both very good, the Shimano bait runners are awesome. There are good qualitys in both types at a good price and if looked after will last a long time. the reels these days are getting smaller and tougher, a lot different from when I started fishing. Now I'm a bit older I do like the little bit more up market reels. I have a Daiwa TD SOLL II 4000 and a TD SOLL III LT 6000 both nice.

if your right handed which im guessing you are based of you throwing the burley right handed, why do you wind your reel right handed? a fishing rod is an extension of your dominant arm therefore you hold rod in right hand while winding with left, you can just swap the reel arm over you know but if that how you like to fish then whatever is more comfortable, its just odd.
Gday Karl just the way I fish always have always will, there are a few of us around. Not odd just different.
Don't know where you came up with that theory Karl but I think it's wrong. Wind with your dominant hand, that's why nearly all rods in stores are right handed.
not a theory mate its fact and how your supposed to fish,, rod is extension of your dominant arm so you have more control obviously,, common sense and its only multipliers that are mostly in right hand wind because reel is on top,, fixed spool is different,, maybe read a book or talk to someone that knows what their talking about.
It doesn't matter how I hold my fishing rod so long as I catch fish and have good fun. Nobody has ever questioned the way I fish before I have seen Matt Watson Ultimate fishing holding his fishing rod the same way and lots of other fishermen. There are no rules just getting out there and having a good time is all that matters.
As I said 99% of fishing rods are sold right handed because 90% of the population are right handed and wind with their right hand. "proper way" that's the proper way because that's what 90% of the population find comfortable.

Now then I won't tell you exactly where I am but what I will say is I am between Normanville and wirina cove, look at the land marks on the video for clues it will be fun. As well as that there are a few spots along this stretch of coast where some good fishing can be had, now you are subscribed you can follow me and I shall do all I can to start you getting onto some fish. Feel free to ask for advice. I have fished all my life and im'e still learning like yourself, fishing is like that. Tight Lines mate. P.S my fishing spot is a haven for sea weed in the winter time

Hi Toby I can't say exactly where it is but its between Normanville and Wirrina cove there is some good fishing between them 2 places. In the video there are some land marks find them and you have found the beach it will be fun Tight Lines.
