    Nice video mate. It's a bit cold fishing at winter months. And fish may be back to deep water, I try at shellow water at adelaide metro area beach, and burley, there is no fish been caught...At same spot, I caught a few before. Thanks for sharing.

      Nice to hear from you Trin, it is cold isn't it. Sorry to hear fishing has been a bit slow it can be sometimes. Is there any tommys on local jetties at night. my friend has been getting some at pt Noarlunga jetty and salmon sometimes and still a few garfish surprisingly. Down my way Rapid bay and Cape Jervis has been ok. all the best mate and thank you for the comment and future tight lines.

Hmmm well I recon Kayak fishing sure does look like fun and has defiantly got its place in fishing with some really good opportunities and fishing to be had thats for sure, but I wouldn't say ones more productive than the other. because there can be some really good fishing opportunities to be had from both ways in whatever situation. Thanks for watching and commenting Phillip.

    Sick of the wind mate. I have a boat and have been picking up a few Salmon Trout in the Coorong but unable to get out to sea. Boat is 4.5 metre half cab.
    I never used to burley until about a year ago and my catch rate has gone up heaps. Does make a difference. Will have to try your recipe. I am slowly converting to circle hooks and have as good a success with them as baitholder hooks. I also make my own sinkers.
    Would like to see a video on smoking the Salmon Trout. I have never done it. Well I best get ready to go fishing. Targeting Redfin. again its to rough for me to go to sea.

      Gday Stephen. Tailor is a fish I have never targeted in South Australia they are not all that common but I have been lucky enough to have caught 3 one off Waitpinga Beach on half pilchard using the rig shown on my Waitpinga video using bait pt 1 and I have caught 2 off Tunkalilla Beach fishing for mulloway one was over 4 kilo bait whole pilchard. Over the years gone by there has been a few caught from the far eastern end of Waitpinga beach off the reef at low tide and near, some have been as big as 7 to 8 kilo on lures and pilchard. ganged hooks or light wire trace is recommended. Hope that helps David.

    I’ve heard of a few fisherman being swept out to sea here. Any idea what they were doing wrong? I found myself in a rip here many years ago alongside the cliff. It was crazy strong.. luckily I knew how they work. Big wave smashed me and I found myself back in the rip was just happy to make it back to shore. Never go in the water if you’re not fit or can’t swim at this beach.

    • @davidsheldonfishing9726
      @davidsheldonfishing9726 5 років тому +1

      Hi Lucifer911 yes I agree mate very strong rip there in that gutter running along the edge of them rocks out to sea especially when there is a big surf running. would have been a scary experience for you and the others you have heard about caught in that rip, glad you made it back the trick is not to fight it go with it and gradually work your way out then catch the waves back in as you knew. I don't know what the fishermen were doing wrong maybe wading out to far to cast or got washed off the rocks. that poor boy who recently drowned there went for a swim there and he shouldn't have, there is a sign at the top which I show at the beginning of this video same as waitpinga beach. some times us people do things without thinking and it gets us in trouble. All the best David

    what is the ideal fishing conditions you look for when you are fishing for salmon at Waitpinga and parsons? love the videos, David!

    • @davidsheldonfishing9726
      @davidsheldonfishing9726 5 років тому

      Hi Felix best times to fish Waitpinga and Parsons are before daylight and early morning and late afternoon and into the dark and during the night. On overcast days and when the weather is pretty cold and the wind is blowing from the south and even raining fish can be caught earlier in the afternoon and later in the morning. Tides are around 4 hours later than Outer Harbour so low tide is normally late in the afternoon and not as far to cast into good water. When the wind is northerly fishing can be more comfortable but don't get there to late in the morning or go home to early before dark or you might miss out.

    So I tried to search a bit on the subject and found out that this worm is known to be found around the Australian beaches since it is called Australian worm ! Does this worm 🪱 exist in all beaches around the world ? I have found nothing about it on the net and decided I will go tomorrow morning to the beach to see if it does exist here in France 🇫🇷! Thank you for the infos though it is amazing !

    • @davidsheldonfishing9726
      @davidsheldonfishing9726 3 роки тому +1

      Hi John, yes I think this worm is unique to Australia but only on some beaches in South Australia and up the east coast of Australia, there is a worm in Israel not as long but its head looks the same its on a UA-cam Chanel called Asif Israel fishing the worm is called a moonshine worm. Hope you had some luck finding some worms, if this type of worm isn't there I'm sure there would be some other type of marine worm around, try around the banks of rivers low tide in the mud look for worm castings on the surface next to holes on beaches and low tide mud or sand bars. All the best John with your worm searching and nice to hear from France. Thank you and Cheers David

    • @davidsheldonfishing9726
      @davidsheldonfishing9726 6 років тому +1

      Gday FirstltGiven Tunkalilla when there are gutters formed straight down from the car park its defiantly worth the walk. Bear in mind to see gutters formed can be rare, there can be a lot of the time a big close in shore break. So my advise would be to choose a day when the swell is small and maybe a northerly wind so if there are no gutters you can at least get your bait at the back of the waves The beach is 5km long with some very good fishing. The mulloway in my pic was caught down there a few years ago but they are still there and sharks, salmon sometimes big and other fish.thanks for the sub mate appreciated.

      Gday Iun ime not to bad thanks, very eager to get out and do some more fishing as usual. Waitpinga can be very good at night time. Salmon move into beaches at night for safety as well as predators after them the problem at the moment though is there is a big surf running, i'me not sure when it might settle down it will make things a lot harder. If you head down be prepared to maybe not stay the night mate all the best.

      G'day Martin. Yes small but tasty, Parsons and Waitpinga we use to catch a lot of bigger fish, these days there are a lot of smaller fish but every now and then the big ones show up and there is some good rod bending action great fun.
