Unsubbed. Good you can chuckle about this. TEMU literally takes these Uyghur slaves and harvests their kidneys and other organs while keeping them alive to make and sell crap for dirt cheap to westerners. If you weren’t aware of the actual GENOCIDE they’re going thru, then you are now. Ignorance is not bliss.

I really love how well you handled this. I am a chef that used to work for a national retailer of kitchen tools and supplies. There are a fair number of gadgets in these stores and realizing not every customer was a knife nerd was a challenge I eventually overcame.
I learned that In the end, I would much rather someone have a sharp knife in their home to make their cooking easier, than to make them feel like they should a)replace their dull ass knives from their wedding, 25 years earlier or b) invest time, money, and space in a series of whetstones to maintain their tools against their will (which they would eventually lose to).

I just got one of these.
Yes, longer blades are a problem. I extend my fingers out to stabilize the blade. For the most part, this works fine. I also used a 1x6 and that also worked.
For thinner blades, I just propped the top up on my fingertip, to raise the blade over the guide. This brought the tip up and stabilized, at the same time.
I'm very satisfied with mine. Easier to use, and gives you a consistent angle. One of my biggest problems.
For a meat cleaver, I would use a book like he did, or a cutting board. I'm think a 2x6 would be perfect.
Are there better sharpers out there? Sure, but this one is easy to set up and use, and gets a sharp edge, too.
I agree with the other connectors, more grit options would be nice. Color coding the rubber rollers, would be nice, to help show which side is which.
I think a larger roller and angle guide, would also help stabilize longer blade.

I love how you say "this is a great product and looks cool" but until then you showed just how bad it is, that's the way to make sponsored videos. However some time ago i also thought this could be a clever way to sharpen knives for normal people that never sharpen their knives, but is clearly not good at all for that, a lansky sharpener would be cheaper and easier to use

Believe it or not most of the patents cases nowadays involved cases in which American companies are found guilty of copying Chinese high tech stuff without their permission! Of course, these are cases involving high tech stuff in robotics, hypersonic missiles, AI, drones, and other computer technologies. In fact, China now owns nearly 10 times more patents than the US! So, you might want to update yourself in what is going on! In fact, most of the engineers working in the high tech fields in the US are actually Chinese! Even UA-cam, NVidia, Intel, Microsoft, AMD, etc (companies you think as being American) are being led by Chinese engineers or were once did! Even the steel and metal alloys that are made into the tools that you use everyday are invented in China! You might want to do a little research in what is going on in the world besides getting your news from the propaganda machines known as the US mainstream media!

My biggest issue with these is the fact that your scratch pattern tends to run more or less parallel with the spine of the knife, which is the opposite of ideal. Those little scratches create stress risers and a very fragile apex. So even if you're successful in sharpening, the edge will not last as long as what you'd get from a traditional stone. Outdoors55 has an absolutely eye opening video on the topic that's a great watch
