POLARIS LANCE Full Breakdown [Destiny 2] Has This Weapon Become TOO Good?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 лип 2024
- In this video I'll be breaking down the Exotic Scout Rifle, Polaris Lance, in Destiny 2's Season of the Wish. With a "Solar-leaning" Seasonal Artifact, this weapon has had, and still does have plenty of time to shine. We'll have a look at just how good it is and discuss it's performance in this full review. Enjoy! 🍻

Seasons ago, (can't remember how long ago) I had to force myself to put this weapon down because it was just too good. Especially after they changed the "Perfect Fifth" to deal scorch. I'm happy to see it have it's time in the spotlight again though. The artifact this season just makes it borderline broken lol love it.
It really is a sight to behold in it's current state! Even without the Artifact, it's an extremely useful weapon, but three months into the season and I'm still in awe of what it's able to accomplish with the seasonal mods! 👍🍻
Nice Whiteface pfp
I have been rocking the Polaris lace since the beginning of the season. It’s a blast getting a group enemies and explosions rolling. I also love the legendary version the gun.
It really has been phenomenal this season! It's a great weapon in it's own right, but the Artifact makes it mind-blowingly strong! 👍👍
I think Bungie should do a Playlist activity that let's us equip as many exotic weapons and armor as we want.
Details, details, details, you're just so good at providing ALL the details.
Great info-dump, as expected.
Haha! I do my best! I definitely have a hard time drawing a line between too much and not enough information...so I just try to squeeze it all in there! 😂🍻
Great rundown, thanks!
You're very welcome man! 😁🍻
From what I’ve seen most people rocking Polaris Lance forget how to play the game like moving around the map or shooting heavy. They get insane tunnel vision
I definitely understand where you're coming from, but is it right to put the blame on the shoulders of players for not opting to do more than is needed? "Shoot it with Polaris Lance" is not always the right play, but if the weapon sorts out the encounter well enough, is it wrong to lean on it? 👍👍
Thank you for another excellent video this is one of my go to weapons.
You're very welcome man! It really is a great gun. Curious about the linked timestamp. It put me out past the end of the video. 😂🍻
@IronworkerGaming nah pressed the time stamp in error, sorry. I was referring to polaris lance, I've always loved this gun.
@@thesweeper8141 Ahh! Gotcha! 😁🍻
This is probably my favorite weapon. It's one of the few exotics that when I originally obtained it, I never deleted it. Guess that makes my gun as old as the whisper mission since I crutched on it to get whisper and even outbreak later on
I love to hear it man! Polaris Lance, while it may be the hot ticket item now, has always been a really good weapon that not enough people grew to appreciate! 👍👍
Thanks for the info 👍
Absolutely! 😁👍
This pve powerhouse is just beyond absurd right now. Literally all solar damage verb included and no reload needed too, and excel at both champion stun and add clear. Truly a exotic of all time
In it's current state, it really is an absurdly good weapon! I don't remember any primary being quite this powerful when paired up with a with as set of seasonal Artifact Mods. 👍👍
My time as a warlock main has given me a deep and unwaverring hatred for all things solar, some of these weapons look so fun to use but I just cannot bring myself to use solar, it makes me miserable, there's nothing wrong with solar hunter, playing solar just reminds me of my destain for Well.
The old saying "Born to Nova, forced to Well" is definitely real! While I'm a Voidwalker at my core, Dawnblade is just so incredibly useful when attempting to solo much of the games content. 👍👍
I have been using it lately and I am in love with it a great plus for barrier champions after bungie decided on sidearms this go round... it is hands down one of the best weapons in Destiny and its fun too
I couldn't agree more! Polaris Lance is on another level right now! 👍👍
A favorite combo of mine has been either this or skyburners with veritys brow and incendiary nades. Apply the fist scorch stacks with the gun, then throw nade, and everything that dies to the ignition will give you death throes stacks to repeat the combo faster
Ohhhh!! That does sound sneaky good!! 😁🍻
I believe that by years end, the Weapon of the Year will be Tessellation. Reasons:
- Tessellation makes having all element builds possible.
- From what was heard about the Catalyst, Subclass verbs will be added.
- That Super Charged shot is absolutely amazing. It's like a straight shot Jotunn that gives Grenade Energy back.
- When paired with Devour, it's not fair how many Super shots it potentially can get in a short window.
It's very possible! Things may shake out extremely well for Tessellation one Final Shape hits! 👍👍
@@IronworkerGaming Yeah I am sure it'll be some Final Shape weapon since they'd want people to start using Final Shape stuff otherwise no point them making it 😂😂 I would assume there will be some great weapons released!
Probably my favorite exotic.
It really is a fine weapon, and now I have steam coming out of my ears trying to think back to the quest to obtain Polaris Lance!😅 Always great to hear from you man! 🍻😁
For me, always was Mr. Worker! Great video as always!
Thank you very much man! 😁🍻
Polaris Lance has been awesome since its rebuild and this season has made it utterly cracked
I love this gun! I have ever since warmind. Fun fact for this gun and others with dragonfly: it is the ONLY explosive type perk(dragonfly, firefly, chain reaction, incandescent, etc.) that radiant and other damage boost elements boost the damage it has. Aka radiant and other buffs makes only dragonfly stronger.
Ahhh, that is good to know! I knew that some of our AoE effects were damage locked, but I'm surprised to learn that Firefly is! I suppose it's little brother Dragonfly has a leg up on it in that sense! 😁👍
@@IronworkerGaming yup. They left it so dragonfly has that edge on other perks.
Combining this gun with dawn chorus makes this gun way better, the ignitions go crazy
Absolutely!! 😁👍
What does that do?
Been using it for a while this season along with sunshot. Works wonders in most of the GMs this season, especially BG moon and the Corrupted.
Both really are performing beautifully this season! 👍👍
Been running Polaris lance and Rufus with reconstruction and tap the trigger. Flawless is so easy now
I see this gun in use SO much now, which is awesome because for years it was truly just one of those forgotten exotics. Any plans to review Dragons Breath? Because it fucking rips.
Great to hear from you man! Polaris Lance is pretty wild this season. I do love seeing exotics rise from the figurative ashes and become relevant again! I have been kicking around the idea of making a video for Dragon's Breath...I'm scared to death that it's going to be getting nerfed at some point though! 😅🍻
Polaris is the GOAT now! glad to see it get the love it deserves.
It really is a fantastic weapon! 👍🍻
As a hunter main, I love Polaris... but I starting using Dragon's Breath with a bow with incandescent and damn, Polaris felt weak.
Fun fact about this gun the sound que for the perfect 5th is the perfect 5th for the key the guns sounds are in
Polaris lance can take out a well if there are 2 people in the well since the ignitions will chain off each other
It is really cool how Bungie tied the musical interval to a weapon including the Perfect 5th namesake! I'll keep the reflecting blast damage in mind next time I'm squaring off against guardians in a Well. I appreciate the tip! 😁🍻
Mantle of battle harmony is also good just giving you x4 dmg boost for solar with two dmg boost mods
Polaris aka Ol Reliable! Arguably one of the best exotic primaries in the game. It didn't even need help from Artifact mods! When you absolutely need to destroy everything in the room? Ember of Combustion in a Well of Radiance. TOASTY!
No doubt about that!! 😁🍻
Facts Polaris Lance is goated
It really is! 👍👍
Every GM with the right kinetic slot weapon reigns with this ignition machine. You melt champions with this thing and clear adds. It's definitely WOTY for me, as a solar warlock 🤞
It really does make may encounter where you can keep some distance a breeze! I really like playing Voidwalker, but Solar has just been too good to pass up this season! 👍🍻
I hate this thing. I'd use any scout, legendary or exotic, over it. It's just a waste of an exotic slot you could be using on something good. As soon as the solar artifact mods go away, this thing gets sharded. Frankly, even now I'd vastly rather use my Staccato with Incandescent.
Your takes are generally pretty on point, but I do think this one is way off base. It's one thing to not enjoy using a weapon, but to blatantly turn a blind eye to a gun's strength just because you don't like it is a poor perspective. This weapon brings more to the table than any scout rifle...perhaps any primary in it's current state. You can pretend that artifact mod don't matter, but they are one of the single biggest factors in shaping metas, and Polaris Lance will have had over 6 months to thrive with the current set.
8:34 dawn chorus effect on this build is extremely minimal, someone would be far better off running a survivability exotic or something that provides surge stacks for a better effect
I love Polaris Lance but i've been inable to un-equip dragons breath all season..
I can definitely understand that. Any boss in the game soils their britches when they see you walking their way with Dragons Breath! 😂🍻
I've been debating Polaris lance v sunshot for this season all season lol
Both are fantastic currently! I love Sunshot for add heavy / close quarters encounters, but Polaris Lance does such a beautiful job evaporating enemies from range! 😁👍
@@IronworkerGaming well consider me sold lol
I just started playing again after yeeaarrss of not. I’ve been using the Sunspot for PVE mainly for the ad clearing. Do you think this will be better?
They're both fantastic, and which one is better really depends on the encounter. Sunshot plays a lot better at closer ranges, while Polaris excels when you can keep a little more ground between you and your enemies. As a whole though, I do like Polaris a bit better in the current season with ability to easily generate Ignitions without needing a kill. 👍👍
@@IronworkerGaming thank you!
@@vr6trooper Anytime! 😁👍
Comment just because i love your vids.
Always appreciated man!! 😁🍻
I used to like this weapon... Now I just hate everybody that's using it.
It made everyone lazy this season and I just noticed that season after season ppl got soft and forgot how to play normally.
I load a GM with some LFGs and all they do is Polaris+cheese.
It's... Disappointing😔
Who are you faulting here? The weapon for being too strong, or players for wanting to use it?
@@IronworkerGaming players
It will be crippled without the artifact mods. It will still be good, but not great
I agree. Metas definitely come and go with the Artifact Mods. Polaris will still be fine once this season closes, but I don't think it will ever again be able to achieve what it can currently. 👍👍
If anti barrier scout rifle comes back then it could still deal with unstoppables also
Will this be weapon good in final shape?
Certainly not as good as it was in Season of the Wish due to the immense amount of Artifact Mod support that it got, but it still is a pretty solid with the right pieces around it. 👍👍
@@IronworkerGaming so far solar and void seem to b the most helpful for me the percision shots still do burst damage even without the artifact
Love you
Love you too! 😁🍻
...wait...me or the gun!? 🤣
Comment for YT god!
I really do appreciate it! This channel definitely needs all the help it can get! 😅🍻
Weapon of the year if we got to vote for me would be Dragons Breath RL, what beast of a RL I can almost guarantee there going to nerf it...
It is an insanely strong weapon! It might be a little hot in it's current state (sorry for the bad pun), but Im certainly not complaining! 😂🍻
@@IronworkerGaming NP.. I hope they don't nerf it I can do a lot of stuff solo now because of it.
@@dkat1108 It does pretty much annihilate any target standing in front of it! I do fear that Bungie may come for it at some point, but might as well make the most of it before they do! 👍👍
I dont think a gun thats only good because of artifact mods and that is only really good in gms can be called "weapon of the year", in most content sunshot blows it out of the water and even in gms it leads to a slow and boring playstyle which ultimately makes them take longer compared to other weapons. Overall polaris is a good gun in gms with the current mods but once they go away itll just be used for its sick ass sounds again.
I certainly understand your perspective, but I don't agree with that sentiment on two points.
-Artifact Mods have become an integral part of the game. They shape seasons and move metas. I pushed back against them initially because of their temporary nature, but they are undoubtedly a huge part of of Destiny at this point. And in the rare case of Season of the Wish, those mods will have been relevant for over 6 months when it's all said and done. To assess a weapons strength without them factored in is turning a blind eye to a core part of the game.
-Sunshot, while a fantastic weapon, most of it's strength lies in add clearing which is something that many other weapons can cover just fine. It lacks the utility of Polaris with it's inability to proc single target ignitions that boost both the single target damage, and allow the weapon to reliably cover Unstoppables. In content that really needs to be taken seriously, Polaris Lance feels like the stronger play.
At the end of the day though, I really have no vested interest in what weapons you use. If don't like Polaris Lance and think there are better options out there, that perfectly fine by me. Use what you enjoy and use what works for you! 👍👍
I don't do a GM without it now. Who knows what its future holds! That DawnChorus comment was the cherry on the top!!
It really does make many of the encounters within GMs very easy to tackle, and it's always nice having a strong primary for the boss if the ammo stockpile is running low! 👍🍻
