- This video is a complete breakdown of my living space as I travel the US. I designed, imagined, and constructed this entire setup!
This will be my living area as I continue my travels. Take a look at how I have optimized my ability to live in a truck.
If you have any inclination to follow along my travels via social media I will post my tags below.

I live in Indiana and travel a lot for work. Especially to North Carolina. Liked the license plates
Ive thought about doing a setup like this with an aisle rather than other set ups like Mav’s. I dont know if id do such a tall sleeping area but yours has a lot of what i want. Great vid and setup

u could get magnets @ walmart for the covers
Zach, that’s a very innovative set up..just found your video..good stuff!

Thank you! I appreciate it.
Probably one of the best set ups
Thank you! and thanks for watching!
Welcome to OKC !!! Nice job on the truck.
Thanks James!
Nice vid. Thx for the share. You may want to add splash guards to your truck, it'll help to your truck clean & not to track in sand & mud.
Very nice you did a good job.
Thanks Eric! Much appreciated.
Very cool, super functional design. My friend Macgyver Sharon is in a truck camper too, will share with her.
tinabeane thank you! I appreciate it.

You can't beat a Pelican cooler.
Totally. The cooler has been fantastic so far. You have one yourself?
Very nice build
Thanks Darren!
I’d be just as happy as you are if I could travel cross country in a truck camper. Very clean, a real nice build. I hope I get to do the same somewhere down the road. Safe travels!
Thanks Sarah. Hope you make it happen as well! Best of luck!
Can’t wait to do this
Cameron what’s your plan of action?
Great build
Best I've seen
Excellent compartments and spacing
Jomar, thank you!
Great set up! its given me some ideas for when I do something to mine (Although I will have to sleep diagonally!)
Thanks Harry. Best of luck when you hit the road!
I'm picking up ideas for a build out of the back of my tacoma, and this has really got some of those wheels turning for me. Great setup, you got a sub.
I just did a build in the back of my Tacoma. I used cross beams in the 2x6 slots the 2nd gen's have and then a middle beam for support, works great and was very easy
Thanks Martin. Best of luck with your build. Hope everything is going well.
You could always get a tarp and a couple of extension poles and attach it to the truck topper door for a canopy.
Daniel, really like that idea. May have to tackle that project this summer!
We met in WY... So cool to see you in person...you are too kind and very inspiring..keep up the cool content...
Great to meet you as well! Thank you for the kind words.

Hoosier Ingenuity. . . Great Job and like your quality workmanship! Maybe sometime you could mention a few little things you would change or build differently if you were starting over. . . we can all live and learn! Thanks for sharing! S. Carolina
Thank you Dixie! I do have a video on my channel talking about a few changes I would make. I made that video during the first leg of my journey. I will surely be making another following the completion of my travels.
Here is the video I was talking about above!

This build is awesome!! Just starting on mine now in my 2010 F150 and can’t be happier! Starting a one month cross country trip this week :) hopefully one day my build out will be as nice as this! Haha
Thanks Hannah. Love to hear that, best of luck out on the road!

Love to hear that! Glad you found it. Thanks for watching Dan!
Well done young man!
Thank you!
Nice set up!
Scott Morgan thanks Scott!
Well done, I got the same idea with the long drawers on both sides and a full bed on top.
That’s a good idea on the little table at the front.
Thanks James! How has your full bed been? Do you like the full?
I like it better, because I am 6ft and need to go sideways to be able to stretch out completely.
I am needing a little access hole for putting my shoes in the bottom easier.
That makes sense. Sounds like a great solution for you.
Nice and simple I like it be blessed
Thanks Dominic!
Excelente trabajo.gran idea. Saludos desde sur de Chile .
Thanks!
Nice setup
Thanks David! I appreciate it.
nice crate you're sittin' on breaux
Thanks Toku!
Nice set up
Thanks Michael!
Good job young man
Thanks Mark.
Nice build. What are the dimensions of the bed? How wide is the shelf build? Also, is that a cargo glide on the floor of the truck bed? Thanks!
Zack, Great Truck build. I have also subbed to Mav who also has an awesome truck build. I think I like your truck better because it is a chevy. 🇺🇸
Love it! I’ve been planning something like that for my truck only the bed would have to be on the other side due to a Thule bike mount that needs to be in the isle way (already mounted on the left side). That is the perfect configuration though! Thanks for sharing!
Do you have it screwed down to the truck bed? Or do you have some other way to keep it in place (and not tipping) when the drawers are extended?
JZ WakkiZakko No problem at all, glad I could help. The floor has a layer of plywood on it, everything is screwed in there. Nothing has moved yet!!! Hoping it stays that way. Good luck with your build!
Very nice!!
Thank you!
Thanks for the tour. I am close to retirement and bought the same model of Silverado last year and would love to do the same. Fortunately and unfortunately at the same time, I found a really good deal on a cap but it is a cab height model so I don't have as much headroom as yours but I think I could do something similar for sure. :-)
All great news. Best of luck on your journey, hope you are able to figure everything out! Have fun and congrats on your retirement whenever the day arrives!
So temp control in the electronic box… insulated for cold only? Anyway to protect from heat?
Great set up. I have no skills or craftsmanship. I didn't let that stop me. My setup functions but isn't as well designed or looks as good.
Functionality is far and away the most important thing! As long as it works for you thats all that matters
Bro I live in OKC and I have a 2014 Silverado similar to yours! Any pointers on doing a build like this I already have the ARE camper shell!
well done!
Thank you!
Just subbed after watching this. I really like your simple and functional build. I too was wondering about your power setup. The new gen power stations are definitely a good solution. Just add a portable solar panel for those times that you are going to stay put a little while so you can charge without having to run the truck and burn up your fuel. I like your cap as well. I'm curious on how much room you have when laying down in your bed above you. Your bed is a little higher than most. Can you move around without hitting your knees on the roof?
Thank you Michael! I appreciate it. The new gen power stations sound like a great solution. Always a possibility I may install one myself. Not planning on it, but ya never know. My bed is much higher than normal. I did this for a few reasons. It allows me to store my fridge under my sleeping area and it gives me additional storage space. I did sacrifice some head room while sleeping but for me it wasn't a major priority. Im not in my bed too often anyways. Really only in there to sleep. Repositioning isn't tough at all. Knees rarely hit the roof.
Great job! I'd like to see you close it all from the inside..
Thanks Fred. I have a video showing how I lock up from the inside. Its one of my more recent vids, should be very easy to find! Thanks for watching.
LOOOOOVE this
Cool setup Zach! How big is that truck bed though?
Thank you Dhiraj. The truck bed is 6.5 feet in length.
nice set up.
Thanks!
You better go to S Florida if You want to use that cook thing on out side.Ti would be better to have less cab on the truck and more bed area.TH
Hi! I’d like to know how long your bed is since you’re able to keep your back seats. Is the bed a size twin XL??
Awesome well thought out set up. How do you lock your camper top from the inside when you sleep at night?
Thanks Ed! I have rigged up something that allows me to lock form the inside. Cant "lock" the latch but the system I use essentially prevents anyone from opening the door from the outside. My tailgate locks via key fob.
