And that is a big miss, especially for those with limited electrical service capacity. A 6-20 receptacle can be installed using an already existing a properly installed 120v 20 amp dedicated circuit. The conductors will, in most cases, not need to be rerun, but upgrading the 120v circuit breaker to 240v 20 amp and the receptacle.
What are your thoughts on doing a road trip across Canada from Ontario to Terrace BC travelling over the North Shore of Lake Superior in a Tesla Model Y LR AWD? I have asked quite a few people with many saying “don’t do it”. Thanks
I L2 charged on road trip once. Navigated to gas station with tesla and CCS chargers. That was advertised as "Rest Area". When I got there signs said no sleeping. There was also L2 charger beside CCS. So I plugged into the L2 and slept while charging. A good 8 hour rest.
You forgot a Nema 6-20, 240Volt outlet. That’s what I currently have. I get about 3.8Kw.

@ Definitely. I also Installed a 20 amp 240 GFCi to the 6-20 to have extra protection.
Well researched and informative video. Thank you. I enjoyed watching.

My Kona is only two years old and it's already charging unevenly and poorly on my level2 charger. :(
Meanwhile in EU we use 240V on daily basis for everything. Or we use 380V for lvl 2 charging.
Hardwiring is safer than using a 240V plug. These plugs can fail over time and be a fire hazard.
like everything else.
Yep. Thats why I always suggest a Bryant or Hubbell outlet.

A typical US situation. Not applicable to western Europe
Tell us more about 3 phase (He's in Canada) Our 3 phase supply is 600 volt and US is 480 volt -depending on the transformers you use.
