Wow! That is an impressive amount of miles! It's crazy how different the different Ram's from this generation were. The Hemi was fantastic, the 4.6L in the one I had before this one was terrible.
Just got my first truck ever. 03 Ram 1500 Hemi 220k miles and it only cost me 3k. Good trans. Just got new tires and headlights before I got it too! Hasn’t given me any problems so far and everyone I’ve showed said it was a good find. I’m feeling really good about it and looking forward to the future with it!
I have this same truck, the SLT trim package and I absolutely love it plan to keep it forever. Right now its a daily and I have zero plans to let go of it, the body style is perfect
I just bought a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab Laramie 5.7L hemi with 190k miles with a camper shell and 6 inch warrantied lift kit with a nice set of rims and tires. I'm excited to get into the build
Your truck looks great. I have a graphite 1500 Laramie. My 03 has 211K miles. The one major issue I have with it is the days. You did a great job with the truck.
Just bought an 04 hemi sport package 210k in fairly good shape. Engine and trans in decent shape has the exhaust manifold leak but that's a simple fix.
I have the exact truck I'm the original owner mint condition compliments galore lots of offers NO WAY ID SELL FAST FAST FAST drives like a Cadillac Love It
@belindaa.roberts3603 I got cheap owner thought it had the dreaded tic just broken manifold bolts got all that fixed $200 and some lower ball joints and oil change interior is immaculate with the driver seat having normal wear. Seeing the cigarette lighter and ash tray just makes it look like a real truck lol.
We had a 2004 was a great truck! Reliability was great. We now have a 2012, also a great truck. I think Ram get the shaft because they sell less trucks that GM and Ford overall but in my opinion they are the best trucks.
For the price, reliability, and styling of this generation, they definitely won in my mind! They were more modern than a Chevy, and much more reliable than Ford.
Building one right now 04 slt, with 20s for road tires and 16s for snow as i live in Alaska and of course its a manual 5 speed 4x4 because no matter how good the truck is, and ive owned many many cool 2x4 trucks. That being said, i really like these trucks! As long as you use premium fluids approved by mopar and keep your recvomended oil changes they last a long long time and many happy miles
I agree totally i have a sport 2004 1500 hemi ram best truck EVER its now 20 years old everyone wants to buy it off me NO WAY its fast i chased in tow trucks for years had every make of truck over the years nothing compares from gmc to ford even had a ford lightning with a paxton lumbar seats super fast 454 ss you name it Dodge just stands out front to back they have a factory noise of there own always recognize it without looking just a great truck my daughter has a 8 inch lift kit on her 2005 so hot
Hey, i got an offer for under 2000$ canadian for one of these trucks. Has a lifter tick and needs new front bearings. Do you think it would be worth it ? I really love the truck just wanna know if these problems make it not worth it. thanks
tc...my 2004 1500 4.7 must have made fixes, I have 226k. I did some work, head gasket, fuel filter, battery cable.oil pan, rotors, and it purrs. had it for 12 years now from 1 owner,
i dont know i just got mine 05 model ocasionally the abs and brake light comes on while driving and dings also just threw a code for p0700 so already off to bad start
Have you been able to figure that code out ? I’m throwing the same code but only difference is my transmission shifts perfect and I’m not leaking or anything so I’m not too sure y I’m throwing the code
@@AaronDAgostino it went away got me. i did have lose ground wire from fender going to battery i also changed trans fluid and filters and replaced my shifter cable due to bad bushing had codes reset all has been fine took it on 4 hour trips a few times. i have no idea.
Hey I got a 04 Ram 1500 Laramie with the 5.7 Hemi runs like a top has the good old Hemi tick. But she's a great Truck so far had her about a year with 316k Km on it bit more rust then yours but not to far gone. What happened to this build wanna and need see more of it?!!!. also want to add I also had the 02 Ram SLS all blacked out looked great but was an Anemic thing constantly put $$ into it. Finally let it go and got my current Truck and never been happier. Bring us an Update on this build Pls.
Hey! I unfortunately sold the truck, and replaced it with the 2007 Chevy Tahoe (you can find the playlist linked below)! I do sometimes regret not doing more of a build on this truck, it really was an amazing pickup truck with plenty of power, and was well worth its price. You can find the Tahoe Playlist here: ua-cam.com/play/PL6dwwsclQa9zHw4S_nUAoKksi9YE7e1r6.html
4.7s are not hemis. 4.7s use the same tranny as the 5.7 fyi. Also the major issue with the 4.7 is people not bringing them up to operating temp for long enough to burn off moisture. Moisture leads to sludge
Sorry for the no reply! I wasn't able to find these exact ones again, however you should check out this video from my newest project (2007 Chevy Tahoe). These are my favorite headlights right now! Video: ua-cam.com/video/f9BHkIX6pNg/v-deo.html
I know mine had the same issue, I replaced the PCV valve, but still had issues. From what I have heard, the Hemi just does that... and not much you can do about it unfortunately.
Dont knock the 4.7, mine has 300k on it, never opened. If you dont use cheap oil and change it at 3k you likely wont have all the issues everyone crys about. Also no one seems to know that Dodge takes only OAT coolant and Only ATF4 and only high quality engine oil and filters. This is where most drivetrain complaints and warranties come from. Its not the Dodges fault its the owner period😂😂😂
You had two of them because the 3rd gen dodge trucks just dont last as long as the other generations. They are expensive to repair and require frequent repairs.
Yes sir. I have the 03 Ram 1500 with the Hemi. 412,800 original mile on it. My friend you have a beast of a truck
Wow! That is an impressive amount of miles! It's crazy how different the different Ram's from this generation were. The Hemi was fantastic, the 4.6L in the one I had before this one was terrible.
@@readysetrev Check out my page I got plenty of videos of it
@readysetrev UT has been an absolutely amazing truck buddy. I still drive it everyday to work. Just rolled over 413,000

They are definitely a great truck for sure!
mine has over 200k :) bit of a battery drain issue right now tho.
they are known as the best trucks from the USA here in europe !
Best truck for sure they hold there looks and are good all around
04, 05 i think were the best hemi years before mds and variable valve stuff.
Miss my 05.
I'm really happy with my 2004 Ram 4.7 even though it's the baby magnum it's got plenty of git for my needs. 😊
That is great to hear!

I have one too but it’s so bad on gas😬
Yes, the gas mileage isn't the star of the show on this truck! Neither is the 2007 Tahoe's mileage that I recently bought to replace this truck.
@@readysetrev the 5.7 mess up too ? i hope not i just got a 4.7 a week ago

Doesn’t even look like it was made in 2004 great build 👍
Agreed, most designs since this one have been just a modernization, rather than completely redesigning like we saw in the recent Toyota Tundra.
I got an 03 1500 it has 156,000 miles on it it runs pretty good, I just had to have the fuel rod replaced
That's awesome! Do you like it so far? I miss mine sometimes.
other than alot of rust on the bottom it drives pretty good, but the fuel milage is terrible I get about 14 mph max@@readysetrev

Correct, the 5.7 is the Hemi, which is in this truck. Interesting info on the transmission!
Is this a scenic overlook?
My ‘04 ram hemi blew the motor at 68,000 miles. Rod through the block.
Ooof thats a bummer

Problems: the dashboard. Also, the grips by the pillar give way.
That is very true! The grip on the passenger side gave way on my 2003 Ram 1500 I had before this one.
Is this truck leveled? It looks leveled.
I believe it was! Never checked for that, but it definitely seemed to be.
My dodge 2005 1500 rides well used 1 quart oil not leak every 900 miles and it has 150,000 miles on. What gives not egr.valve is that normal?

150,000 miles been great truck no problem with 4.7 motor, can get over 20 mpg highway
that is an awesome pickup....almost the best. The 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 is better. I'm not selling so don't ask ;)

Go off roading
I do wish I had done more off-roading in this one before selling it!
But what about all thr videos showing all the problems and how unreliable it is?
The best pickup from 2004 is the Silverado 2500
Interesting, why do you say that?
@@readysetrev they can last over 400k miles with minor issues
