@Stanging84 and you spend all that money at once or get stuck with car payments, compared to 25k over time. Then what do you do when the new truck still needs work and maintenance too?
I just bought a 2003 Ram 1500 SLT that never missed a scheduled maintenance, and the only thing I've had replaced is the gas. Total price, $6000 with 120,000 miles on it. It looks like it was bought five years ago. It hasn't got a speck of rust and if there are any scratches I can't find them. My Hercules tires cost around $250.00 per, but they're new. Not looking forward to when the day comes to replace. This truck drives like a new vehicle. The engine is immaculate and it's got a three thousand dollar speaker set up. Now I'm going to do an obnoxious little dance, to celebrate my amazing luck.
lmao same i’m 17 and saved up 4k for a 02 1500 slt with 220k miles. i bought it from my uncle and he keeps his trucks and cars well kept, i plan on leveling it and running 22x14s.
I have an 07 murdered out similar to yours mint. Got it 2 years ago with 65,000 miles for $20,000 bucks and I put about $25,000 in parts and labor. Pretty much replaced everything you can think of
What ive noticed is that its kind of a bummer how much you cant really modify this gen ram. Unless you get the base model, theres really not much to add. Luckily, i have the 4.7 thats not the HO, so i can get those cams and have fun with that. And i need to find a good limited slip for the rear end, as well as a new manny tranny as my g238 is finally giving out at 250k. Is it worth it to get a new 238 or should i go for the g56? Anyone know which is more reliable?
I have the exact same truck and year and I’m doing some of the same modifications but do you have a video on how you color matched your front and back chrome bumpers and grill?
I don’t but this is how I did it. I found the color code and found some spray cans by MOPAR on eBay, taped off stuff then I sanded down the bumpers with a rough grit like 60 or 80 can’t remember exact then a smoother grit like 300 or 330 don’t remember exact one but was in the 300 then sprayed the stuff, when it dried I hit it with a clear coat. Only thing I would do differently it’s spray a self etching primer b4 the paint
@@davinwallace-vg8ywI went on eBay and typed in either 2005 dodge Ram 1500 paint match can then the color code or MOPAR paint match then the color code. It’s been awhile so I don’t remember exactly how I entered it in
Hey man what’s the transmission like in these trucks I love the look of em but my 2nd gen had a transmission replacement so a little nervous to buy another dodge
Honestly it’s 50/50. If you don’t beat on it continuously and keep up the maintenance you could probably get a good run out of it. I was getting close to 300k when mine started acting up but I used it like a truck, hauled heavy stuff, pulled stumps and trees out the ground, went 4 wheeling quite a bit and other stuff
@@TruckLifeProductions thanks man I just been having trouble on how to connect the power and the wire that receives the signal so the camera can turn on without running two cables

Thanks for sharing your story I have a 99 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2L 4X4. My problem out here in Atlanta Georgia for the last 15yrs I've been getting scam left-to-right by shops getting my vehicles to run right.. I have Trust problems Because if I'm a good person that's dropping large amount of money on getting the truck to run right why scam. I've been thinking of putting these shops on blast calling them out on Con's mechanics...

Multiple things. Increase hp/tq, adjust shift points, adjust tire size, increase speed limiter and many other things basically tweaking the truck to run at your desired settings
I bought paint cans online with the same paint code then sanded down the chrome and spray painted them. It wasn’t that difficult but if I had to do it again I would use a self etching primer first but I would also spend a little more time on the sanding. I was using 80 grit sand paper which seemed to work well for scuffing
