Nice Vid Thomas! Welcome back! I can't believe it's been 9 months since your last video. Or that you managed to make a 25 minute video interesting out of an amp with only 2 knobs. :-) Really sounds great though. That double neck is sweet.

Rookie question Am I right in thinking if I wanted to use the palmer eins with say the UA OX STOMP I could you use the HI Z output instead of the simulated output which would defeat the object is the HI Z output just another output but without the simulation thanks for any advice
Ich finde ihn großartig! Momentan plane ich mir den Palmer eins und den Mooer Radar zu holen, um bei mir in der Bude leise zu spielen und ab und zu was aufzunehmen. Da nehme ich auch die mangelnde cab sim im HiZ-Ausgang in Kauf.
What a great sounding little amp. The lack of cab sim on the hi-z is a bit of a shame. Detracts from the idea of a nice small amp when you start having to pair it with other stuff to get the most out of it.
I suppose if you already have an IR loader or want to run it through the effects return of another amp it is pretty appealing as a high quality preamp but that makes the price a bit less attractive condsidering its rather limited feature set.
+napalmhardcore What is the use of a cab sim from the hi-z output? Reverb after the Eins? But then you need a DI box to convert to low-z?
+limerot Yes, I was thinking in terms of reverb/delay. While you'd need a DI box or low-z input on your interface/mixer, it would still be a nice "gig saver" option.
I overlooked that you might have to add a DI box to that. At the time I was thinking how I'd integrate into a recording setup and my interface has an input that is suitable for an instrument :)

But, all analog eq speaker sims sounds 2D and flat compared to IR - the next generation speaker sims. I ordered a Eins today, but my experience with Palmer speaker sims are like all the other brands with same technology, dry and flat like old bread.
+limerot I've been researchng IR recently and totally agree that it's the way to go (for when micing a cab isn't possible/practical). I'm aware of a couple of IR loaders, one being the Logidy EPSi and AMT have one called the Pangaea.
Also the new generation of multi effects pedals are integrating them. I'm planning to purchase an Atomic Amplifire. It will give me a lot of options as I could use it for everything or use it in conjunction with other gear.

Why are you jumping forth and back between channels : 0? After comparing this head to Hughes Kettner Tubemeister 5 I'm thinking about Randall RG 13 solid state preamp, no tube but more options for connecting as overdrive pedal, preamp for recording or head into guitar cabinet speaker.
