Just out of curiosity: When I plug the speaker out into a di box without a speaker connected at the end, will the internal load of the Eins still be active? So that I would be able to use different IRs when recording into an audio interface.
You should not use the speaker output to go into a DI box - that is dangerous. For this you should use the HiZ output. In general: if you use the speaker output, you MUST have a load connected to it.
Sounds good. The "overdrive" sounds actually sound very good. Overdrive from conventional power tubes generally sounds awful through a speak simulator. I assume this sounds good because the "power tube" is actually a preamp tube. Regardless, great sound all around, a great solution for people wanting overdrive type sounds through a speaker simulator.
On my xmas list! My current practice head 15/7w is too loud when cranked - and I love to crank! Looks like great value too, as all your gear is so well put together. ps... looking out for the timepressor but no can find - coming soon?
Hello, i´m Phill. I am Portuguese and i´m a professional guitarrist. I love small amps but none have fx loop and i think it´s required for a low headroom amp. PLEASE MADE A SPEACIAL EDITION WITH FX LOOP FOR THE EINS AND THE DREI HEADS! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!
+beatriz samuel i use the HI Impedance output of the Palmer Eins as the FX send, through my delay, EQ etc, into an Electro-Harmonix Magnum 44. So I get an FX loop, valve tone, and 44 watts of power in a rig that fits into a shoe box and cost me £165. The palmer has an in-built power soak so it's ok to use as a pre-amp. One word of caution - I had to add an extra earth because the Magnum doesn't have one. The boys at Palmer sent me a photo to show me how to do this - it took 10 minutes with a soldering iron. This is now my backup rig for gigging. It's loud enough to hear over our drummer, and gives me clean through to crunch by using a volume pedal in the FX loop.

ps. sound great this little giant. i ofthen use my small 1 w blackstar ht-1 trough 212 Vintage 30 cab and the sound is HUGE.
