- Clint Eastwood sings about the poor drover's life he lives as Rowdy Yates in the TV series Rawhide. The scene comes from 'Incident of the Hostages', the twenty-seventh episode of the series' fifth season. It first aired on April 19, 1963. Also in this scene: James Murdock (as Mushy), Leslie Wales (as Yellow Sky), Suzanne Cupito (as Winter Night) and Tony Haig (as Running Dog).
The song also appeared on the album 'Rawhide's Clint Eastwood Sings Cowboy Favorites' and was released on the B-side of the Eastwood single 'Cowboy Wedding Song'. 'Rowdy' was composed by Jerre Lee Turner. Credited Music Supervisor for the episode was Leon Klatzkin.

I didn’t know Clint could sing that good, it is the first time heard him sing.
You have apparently never watched "Paint your wagon", "Honkytonk Man" or "The Beguiled" then. Clint sings in all of those movies at least one song. And I might be forgetting a movie or two or so. Or all of Rawhide. In the episode "The Pitchwagon" he also sings and I think there's another episode, but could be mistaken. Haven't seen them all yet...
He sings Gran Torino at the end of that movie as well.

I’d say we’re already in a dark age.
Plenty of Americans who lived before you said the same about you. Including the real people of the old west. Or the brave men who fought in the world wars. But boomers think they are the most important humans to ever exist for some reason, despite all the evidence to the contrary.

I’m watching Rawhide and have heard Clint Eastwood singing several times but I finally googled to see if he was really singing the songs he was singing. Looks like he can sing😀😀

I loved watching this show when I was young.
Back when Rawhide was a regular TV show (long time ago!) my sibs and I got to watch on Friday nights. First it was the Flintstones at 7:30 followed by Rawhide. I named my most recent dog, Rowdy, after Eastwood’s character

Impossible.... Mary from LHOTP was Melissa Anderson and she wasn’t even born when Rawhide originally aired.
Melissa Sue Anderson was born on Sept. 26, 1962. She was a newborn baby when this episode was filmed. This episode was telecasted in the Spring of 1963.

In the episode, the kids were white and were taken by the natives. The tribe raised them and then bartered for cattle. So technically, your observation is correct
