Tim and Austin and friends wrote all of the songs on this new album. I believe Tim wrote this one. Chance is killing it on the bass line too. WOW!!! He is really holding it down.

Jen, I understand why you are emotional. This song brings that out. What a beautiful song they created. The tone, the harmonies, the lyrics, the harmonica and the wonderful guitar make this a journey that fills your soul. I have been eagerly waiting for you to do this reaction. Adding Chris was just putting the icing on the cake. That minor key he plays in the bridge was genius. They truly are masters of their craft. Thank you. Your reactions always makes me smile. For future reference, if you look on your CD, it lists who wrote each song. This was Tim, Austin, Adam Wakefield of Texas Hill, and Chris Chatham. Prior to this album, I don't think we've had any Austin-Tim songwriting collaborations, so it's been cool to see what they do together.

A song so wonderful. A masterpiece. The harmony is just always perfect at Home Free. A good choice to do it with a guitar this time because that's just part of it. Then Adam's no-monica which can be heard at exactly the right moments. Not too overwhelming. Yes, as I often say: Home Free is not only hearing the music, but also feeling it.

Another great original song! This is such a beautiful heartfelt melancholy song. Tim's lead was awesome along with all the guy's harmonies & Adam's harmonica sounds were great as usual. I don't mind having an instrument played once in awhile in a song. It was tastefully done in the background without taking over. It added a nice element. Also like the scenery in Colorado.

Hey Jenn !!! Greetings to you & your hubby over in the UK. This song is just extremely emotional for me, as those lyrics mimic my story in a lot of ways. I was brought up in your typical deep South (Dixie) household. I too had to say so long to a lot of my roots because they just didn't jibe with my feelings I had as an adult, about religion, race & politics. I well up because I love my family but don't talk to many of them anymore. It just ends up in arguments & yelling & screaming at each other. I do a ZOOM call on Thanksgiving, Christmas & my birthday with about 7 or 8 often, which only lasts a few minutes & we do a little catch up with each other (a chin-wag y'all would call it) and it's better this way too. I love them, but can't stand to be around at times.....I think you can understand how I feel. Anyways this is from the pens of Tim Foust, Austin Brown & Chris Chatham - it's so dang pretty.....clearly now a new Home Free favorite. Thanks for your analysis....later kiddo.

The first time I heard this was at their concert before the album release. It was amazing. It's odd for a song to give me chills on the first time hearing but this one did. Chris's guitar is perfect.

This sounds absolutely amazing live and Tim fully speaks those last two words. And for future reference, if you look at the back of your CD, you'll see the songwriters in small print beneath each song title.

Hi Jenn, I'm still praying you get a chance to sing with them. Were they sing about a girl named Dixie? Makes you wonder. I always like to see and hear your reactions. Stay well and warm over there.

I grew up in Texas in the 60's and moved to Massachusetts 20 years ago. These lyrics really hit home. I'm not sure if Jen, being British, knows that Dixie generally refers to the southern states that made up the Confederate , slave owning, states during the American Civil War (1861-65). Martin Luther King said, "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." Tim's words that you (Dixie) are on the wrong end of a one way road (the moral arc) is exactly how I feel, especially for the last decade. You can't erase the past, but ain't it meant to last (bigotry, lack of women's rights, antisemitism, etc.,etc.) Unfortunately, far too many in Dixie (and many other places as well) have not learned from their mistakes; in fact, they embrace them. Pair this song with, "Everybody Walkin' this Land." I am in awe of Home Free, of course for thier phenomenal and unparalleled musical talent. But equally, for their message of social justice in many of their songs, dispute the negative impact it might have from some of their fan. Bravo, Home Free. The GOAT.

Jen, the writers are listed on the back of the CD. Small print, dark and hard to see, yeah, but they're there right below each song. This one was written by Tim, Austin, Adam Wakefield (from Texas Hill I think), and Chris Chatham, whose on the guitar. I'm just waiting for Austin to do a video for Stargazer Lilies, outside of the Sweet + Low version. He can just sit and sing it to Amberly and I'd be happy.

I think this is America growing beyond parts of our history that we must grieve & let go, while carrying forward the heart and soul that was and is also there. Maybe all humanity, as well...
    So, so very moving.

"Stargazer lilies" is a must, Jenn. It's another beautiful song written by Austin and Keelan Woodbury Donovan
apparently for his girlfriend Amberly because they are her favorite flowers. It is an Acapella song with Adam bringing out his pallet of background sounds.

Anyone who has ever left their home for economic, or other reasons, marriage, a job, a career, understands this. You love where you are from, are proud of it and carry it with you, but you can't go back home once you leave it. Home is where your heart and family are, and we grow up and move on... and in this world, few get to stay near where they were born and raised... that's what this song is to me...
