When you stopped to say how nice it was to hear Austin hit a high note, I thought, “Oh, he hasn’t hit the high note yet!” Then your face when he did was perfect! And I liked your scolding “You do this every time.”
Well Jen, today I got the reaction and analysis I've been waiting for! As a longtime vocal student (60 yrs) and 40+ yrs in the percussive arts, Home Free always gives me hours of fun trying to dissect the harmonies and arrangements. Your reactions, reviews and analysis ALWAYS clear up my misguided efforts! Thank you for giving this old man relief. Your ear for the subtle details is a beautiful gift and I'm so thankful you share it with us all!
People that say she talks too much - this isn’t an “Oh, I really liked that song” reaction site. While this song seem straightforward, the arrangement and performance is super complex. And she pulls lots of that out. I’ve learned a lot from these. Thanks Jen.
I went to a Home Free concert 4 days ago in Orlando, The venue was about 20 minutes away. I go the chance to do a Q&A session with the band and about 20 other people, awesome. When I got to ask a question, all 5 members would answer the question, and all other questions. Then they performed a song just for the few of us. They did Delta Dawn with another performer named Maggie Baugh. She was great. It was an awesome evening. Love your channel...
I loved this song with Brooke because it brought out all the sass and twang from Austin. These guys are always such a joy to listen to no matter the style
Honestly ive not heard a song by HFthat i didnt like. Jen since i started watching your show, you have showed me how to hear all the little things in the backround that makes them so special. Thank you for showing me that. Lots of love and success in your future !!!!!!!
Jennifer! Oh nice! One from my era ... 1971 or 1972 ... I guess Tanya Tucker's 1972 cover is most remembered. Wow, they just jump RIGHT into this one. Straight through the saloon doors and into rich harmonies. Beautiful setting for this. LOL, 18:58 "Ah'v 'eard it awl" 😁 And 20:52, "the lovely eyes of Brooke" ... wow beautiful looking out from under that hat brim. Those are going to haunt me. Wait ... no little wave and "Byyyyyyyyeeeeeee" at the end? Great reaction and analysis as always Jennifer. 😊
Great reaction and analysis for a great performance! Jen - thank you, thank you, thank you for rewinding after you make a comment... it really helps to provide context to you comments.
I love the bass note/chord progression that you hear for the first time at 3:42. They only do it twice, but I love it. It's just such a feel good progression.
Nice reaction & analysis! Such a great song! Bette Midler did it first in 1971 but I remember Tanya Tucker & Helen Reddy's versions. The guys did a really nice job backing up Brooke Eden on this song. They never take away from a guest vocalist. And how cool did they all look dressed in the western theme. Reminded me of the Clint Eastwood spaghetti western movies I used to watch.
BEAUTIFUL!!!! I remember when this came out and loved it then. I was infatuated with Ms. Tucker and sang along as a bass singer of course. I really enjoyed your analysis and those great facial expressions you make😀. The astonished look you gave at the end made me love your real shock of what you are hearing. Keep up the great work.
Jen, your reaction was the ONE I've been waiting for most! You did not disappoint. Great reaction...great song...great video. One of their best ever IMHO. Blessings...!!
They did amazing with their version of this song. Brooke actually toured with them and they sang this on the stage. Always truly enjoy watching your reaction and analysis of their songs.
In the beginning, commenting on their coats- were you trying to think of the word 'poncho'? As always, great analysis and reaction. You give just enough details in your analysis without getting lost in the weeds, and your reactions are charming and fun! Very enjoyable, thanks!!
Loved the look on your face as, after talking about Austin's short flight near the end, he really took off. These guys are so amazing. Not my favorite song, but they absolutely slayed it. And Brooke's voice goes very well with all of them. And kudos, as always, to Mr Rupp and his perfect percussion choices. And another interesting and entertaining reaction from you. Have a great day!
Now THAT'S A REACTION !!! Incredible Jennifer ....more knowledge in her one finger than ....(well u know the rest..lol) Thot I heard pretty much (& went a little crazy) over all the harmonies &" details"... BUT now am listening with New Ears ...thx sooo much !!!
Loved it as always, Jen. Really liked Tim mostly staying verlow in this giving such a full sound while allowing room for everyone else to give us fun flourishes up above. The guys are supposed to be hitting Europe around oct/sep time frame. Not sure of details but maybe they'll make it to England.
Home Free, you’re beautiful. Yes, they are. And so is Brooke. Brooke has a great voice. Loved Tim’s lows and Austin’s highs. And, yes Adam was great too. Thank you for pointing out Tim’s lows, not many do. Loved the boys as cowboys too! Thank you Jen as always.🥰
Can't wait for your take on this one, Jen! I'm pretty certain this is another one of those cases where the song belongs to Home Free now. Sorry to Tanya Tucker and others who came before...
Watched the live session for fun, and came back to concentrate on your analysis of what makes voices and arrangements so good. Thanks for another round of enjoyment.
I've been waiting anxiously for your reaction! Loved it!! I think the thing I love most about HF is their ability to build a song to its climax. They always start off subtly, and as the song builds, you can't wait for the incredible ending that you know is coming. Always! There's something different in every verse, and each verse is better than the last. You can just hear all the building blocks being added along the way. Perfection! Even when they start the song with a bang, like "Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks", they're still able to add along the way. It's crazy! Even when they use ebb and flow like in "How Great Thou Art", is just amazing. That song makes you feel like you're soaring above the clouds! And Brooke was a fantastic choice! Loved her!
Brooke has a marvelous voice! I was already familiar with the song, and of course, Home Free did a great arrangement! There's a lot to analyze with this arrangement and Brooke's vocal dynamics! But, as always, you can hear and recognize all the nuances and explain it all! That's why you have so many subscribers! You VERY good at what you do! Have wonderful day! 😊
This is super. Sorry to say but I like this better than the original and other covers Great sung, incredible bass, unbelievable beatboxing/vocal sounds, amazing harmonies. Each has just the right role in the song. And then the video!!! Wow. They all look perfect🥰😍. Images from earlier Western movies that I watched a lot came back! Yes, another successful cover!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Home Free and Brooke Eden are awesome together!💖
SO DAMN GOOD!!!! And what an reaction and analysis! This - THIS "Enhanced" cover is off the charts ... Back in 1972, Tanya Tucker released this at just 13yrs old -- at the start was very vibrato heavy .... but kinda "noisy" in bv's. They done it justice and then some. Brooke was awesome and should be very proud ... and HF is always that way, soooooo :) Be Safe
With apologies to Tanya Tucker and the late Helen Reddy - Home Free & Brooke Eden now own the song. I love everything about this video - the beatboxing, harmonies, singing, setting - all of it. There are live videos with Ms. Eden or Maggie Baugh on y/t as well. Thanks for playing this & your comments and analysis!
By the way, I've just come across a video of Austin & Makena Hartlin singing "Never Had a Dream" - it's sooo good! If you get a chance give it a watch ua-cam.com/video/N90KD8zRfy8/v-deo.html.
These guys just get better and better, in tone and technique. I'm not sure Austin could have given us those high notes with such confidence and sweetness 10 years ago and Adam is really bringing out the big drums these days. The inimitable Adam Chance has a new single out, Far from any Road, with Mercy Bell and Adam Rupp. It's lovely, with Chance's rather mysterious voice in its forte, so you might consider checking it out.
Late to the party but loved this one, great reaction and breakdown! What surprised me the most was you bringing out a southern accent! I know you were just showing us what they were doing but that southern accent sounded kinda sexy on you! Hahahahaha! I thought Rob’s parts in this one really made the harmonies! Loved it southern Jenn! Low bass Kenneth.
I watch a lot of reaction videos and you have by far the best ear and expertise I have seen. You picked up so many things I did not until after you pointed them out. You can tell you are great at what you do love to see it!
Jenn.... I have missed your reactions, as I have recently relocated, but wanted to tell YOU that I Enjoy your Analysis, and your personality! THANK YOU!!!
Think the only thing you didn't pick up on was Austin's impersonation of a flamingo - dunno where his other leg went! Great vocals and Adam Rupps percussion is brilliant as always. Have you heard Adam Chance has a new single out with Adam Rupp and Mercy Bell - Far From Any Road? No video yet but it sounds great.
This song made me happy as I listened to the Tanya Tucker version when I was young. I like HF's version even better. They are so respectful of these classic songs. I always love your reactions. Thanks!❤
Jen, I really enjoy your take and breakdowns on different singers. A lot of people say that some songs can't be covered but again Home Free and Brooke Eden made this song theirs. At 21 (plus 49years) experience it really helps me singing in church. (in my opinion) Anyway, I am still waiting for you to react to Mo Pitney covering the song "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes". To me his singing and cover of this song is fantastic.
So much fun watching you react to them. I know you have watched so many of their videos, you should relish in the surprises they put in their songs. But so fun seeing it happen to you. They are so great and even better live.
Jennifer Glatzhofer 😊😊😊! I couldn’t wait to hear what you thought of this fantastic video! I really appreciate your knowledge and take on the music. Also, I just love your reaction because you are so genuine! Definitely not afraid to say what you think! Your reaction to Austin at the end on the video was my favourite part! Keep up the amazing content! Can’t wait for the next one!
I always feel so jealous when i watch these videos from Jennifer and other reactors and analyst's. Especially when they talk about making sure you listen through head phones because you hear different things come through each ear. I'm 100% deaf in my right ear and have been for 40 years, so i definitely miss out on that ability to fully hear it all. I still love home free and I got my son and his mother hooked on them and their rabbit hole of songs and videos. Hope to see them live soon. Thanks for everything you do Jennifer, great job as always.
I was impressed by Brooke. I already know Home free is great, but before they released this arrangement, I hadn't heard of Brooke. This was like a young Tanya meets the Oak Ridge Boys, then you remove any instruments and add a controlled burn with gasoline. Beautiful. Peace, Love!!
Jen,,,,my name's Dan.... I've been watching your UA-cam,,, really enjoy your reactions....I really love listening your music breakdown.. Keep it up... Stay sweet
Great reaction and analysis, Jenn. I'm always impressed that you can hear and recognize all the nuances and explain it well with a twist of humor. I've known and listened to this song for years but I have to say that this is going to be the staple when people want to hear Delta Dawn. I mean who in there right mind would want Home Free to cover their song. lol
Go listen to the 1972 original by Tanya Tucker - it will give you an even greater appreciation for this version. Brooke definitely channeled her inner Tanya and as usual ... Home Free absolutely knocked it out of the park!
Thank you so much for how deep you dive into the vocals and arrangement of this song. As someone who does live sound engineering I may not be singing the songs but I love learning more about what to listen for so I can help capture the music accurately and help my performers project to the audience. This is my first video I have seen of yours and I can't wait to watch more!
This mountain was 3 miles behind my house in Arizona. This was amazing - Goldfield Ghost Town, Superstition Mountain and Home Free - doesn't get any better!
I didn't recognize Adam Rupp at first. It the first time I have ever seen him with his hair down. This is an Awesome video. And Brooke fit into it perfectly. Great Post, Jen
Jenn, loved your analysis as always, you explain thing so us lay folks can understand from a profession POV. If I have enough $$$ at the end of the month I am going to join your patreon and I have a Home Free request for either 1 or possibly 2 songs if I have enough. Both will be Chance leads 😏👍
When you stopped to say how nice it was to hear Austin hit a high note, I thought, “Oh, he hasn’t hit the high note yet!” Then your face when he did was perfect! And I liked your scolding “You do this every time.”
It was epic! We knew what was coming! Lol. I love it. ❤️

Me too 😂🇧🇷👍🏻
Me too! I was waiting for it. 😂❤❤

Home Free strikes again ... have been singing this song every day since they dropped it ... Brooke has a super country voice ... great collab !
Great reaction and analysis for a great performance! Jen - thank you, thank you, thank you for rewinding after you make a comment... it really helps to provide context to you comments.

I agree Dagmar. Imagine me seeing you on a Home Free reaction...Peace, Love!!
Sho nuff👊🏿
Home Free + Brooke Eden = Fire. Love your reaction and analysis.
Home Free and Brooke did what this guys always do nailed it💞💞👏👏and thanks Jennifer for your reaction and analyzing hugs from Norway 👏👏💞💞
I love how when Brooke sings "a mysterious dark haired man" they swing to Austin pulling off a Clint Eastwood vibe in the poncho and cowboy hat! ❤❤❤❤
BEAUTIFUL!!!! I remember when this came out and loved it then. I was infatuated with Ms. Tucker and sang along as a bass singer of course. Thank you 😁
As usual, you gave a super analysis and eave review to our guys and Brooke. I loved it.
Love, love, love your reaction and analysis ❤ I was so excited for you to do this song 🎵 ❤ lol‼️ Brooke is so tiny next to the boys‼️😂🤣
Haha yes! Thank you 😁
heh, can tell i'm a native San Diegan - i immediately thought of 'serape' . . . ;)
@@elizabethhostetter1946 oh, yes! That didn't occur to me; born/raised on east coast USA. 😄
Tim did an equivalent call/response like that in My Church....and probably a few other songs....I love it.
Austin rocking the Clinton's Eastwood Josy Wells look and Tim with the classic Billy Jack
Now THAT'S A REACTION !!!
Incredible Jennifer ....more knowledge in her one finger than ....(well u know the rest..lol)
Thot I heard pretty much (& went a little crazy) over all the harmonies &" details"...
Another killer video. Brooke Eden is perfect for this song. Love the western setting, costumes, harmonies and Tim's bass.❤️
Goldfield ghost town, Apache Junction, Arizona. Fun place. Those are THE Superstion mountains in the background.
Always look forward to your analyses. Thanks, Jen!
Thank you for your lovely reaction to this cocktail of sounds from Home Free and Brooke Eden. Real country vibes, I really loved it.
Time for another Home Free week!!! Thanks for all you do. The ending was epic
Can't wait for your take on this one, Jen! I'm pretty certain this is another one of those cases where the song belongs to Home Free now. Sorry to Tanya Tucker and others who came before...

Oh!! Apparently, Tim was holding his hat because the wind kept blowing it off his head. 😂😂❤ but he holds that hat so stylishly & cool. 😎 😉🥰
Brooke has a marvelous voice! I was already familiar with the song, and of course, Home Free did a great arrangement! There's a lot to analyze with this arrangement and Brooke's vocal dynamics! Oh absolutely ❤
What Sue said!
Love Home Free and Brooke Eden Together ❤, Love Your Reactions
Great reaction. As always.
I get a "My church - feeling" with this song...🤔🤔
Really great song. And Brook..... Amen to that! Great voice.❤
This is my first time listening to this song…Beautiful 🔥 Loved the reaction 😊
This is super.
Sorry to say but I like this better than the original and other covers

Yes Jen….just can’t wait for the next Amazing one these Awesome guys put out for us to enjoy ❤️🔥‼️ Thanks for your great reaction 🙃🔥❤️
Brooke has such a beautiful voice!

Saw them do this with Brooke in Denver this year. So glad they recorded. The arrangement is amazing.
JEN, JEN, JEN!!! Lady you are the best! Im a hugh Home Fry & watching your take on HF always makes me smile. LOVE YOU LADY!
The voices as always are incredible, but a shoutout to the arrangement is so needed.🎉
There will never be anyone who meets Austin’s vocals!
It has been fun watching the change in you face as you react to Home Free over time. At times you still seem to be totally amazed.
The percussion break just after 2:30 is a super nice touch.
Always love how you break down and analyze the songs Rob said it was windy the day they shot this your reaction at the end says it all.
This is a good version but I prefer Bette Midler.
By the way, I've just come across a video of Austin & Makena Hartlin singing "Never Had a Dream" - it's sooo good! If you get a chance give it a watch ua-cam.com/video/N90KD8zRfy8/v-deo.html.

Priceless Jen. Another wonderful analysis and reaction video. Loved it!

Ah, I do love our level of analysis! It really helps me understand and appreciate what I'm hearing! Thank you, Jennifer!
I watch a lot of reaction videos and you have by far the best ear and expertise I have seen. You picked up so many things I did not until after you pointed them out. You can tell you are great at what you do love to see it!
So well broken down for our understanding of just why they sound so awesome.
Simply stunning perfection ❤
You're facial expressions @ 14:29 and 15:02 were absolutely hilarious 😂
You did not disappoint! I was waiting for your reaction/analysis of the end of the song. So fun!
Jenn.... I have missed your reactions, as I have recently relocated, but wanted to tell YOU that I Enjoy your Analysis, and your personality! THANK YOU!!!
I love that when Austin signs real country music he lets his Georgia accent come through
Love your reactions! Now I hear more in this song than I had known was there before! Cool!
Lady, you got some set of ears on y'all! Thanks for the amazing attention to details.
Thank you for acknowledging Adam Chance. I love his voice!
I had no idea - I just listened to Far From Any Road - love it! Thanks for mentioning it
This song made me happy as I listened to the Tanya Tucker version when I was young. I like HF's version even better. They are so respectful of these classic songs. I always love your reactions. Thanks!❤
Thank you Miss Jen for another lovely reaction. I agree with everything you pointed out.. this was a wonderful cover
"Love the setting, and wow did they pull that song off with extraordinary class and excellence!!! Another fun collaboration!! ❣"
Great analysis as usual. I’ve watched the video several times already and you pointed out details I had missed. Really enjoy your input!
So much fun watching you react to them. I know you have watched so many of their videos, you should relish in the surprises they put in their songs. But so fun seeing it happen to you. They are so great and even better live.
Oh how fun, your semi frustrated expression trying to pick out each thing at the end...great reaction and breakdown.
❤️ I hope you get to see them live soon too!
wild close, very complex but simple sounding until you realize how hard it really is!
You were able to bring out way more than several other reactors. Made me appreciate this gorgeous song that much more!
Stay sweet
This is the first reaction & analysis video that I’ve seen you do and I enjoyed it immensely.
Great analysis and reaction, Jen. I love all the nuances you point out in the vocals.
It sure looks to me like the lovely Brooke is really loving working with these wonderful men!
home Free is just too good to be a back up vocal group, but can't they just knock that skill outa da park !!!!!!!
Looking beautiful Jen😊
Awesome as always
Great reaction and analysis, Jenn. I'm always impressed that you can hear and recognize all the nuances and explain it well with a twist of humor. I've known and listened to this song for years but I have to say that this is going to be the staple when people want to hear Delta Dawn. I mean who in there right mind would want Home Free to cover their song. lol
Everybody is distinct but lovely harmony and blend to really lovely ear candy!! BTW, dawn and dawg are two syllable words. At least in the south.
Go listen to the 1972 original by Tanya Tucker - it will give you an even greater appreciation for this version. Brooke definitely channeled her inner Tanya and as usual ... Home Free absolutely knocked it out of the park!
I don't think I've seen another reaction of yours where you geeked out as much as you did in this one, lol :) It was super entertaining to watch!
Your reactions are always informative AND entertaining. 👍👏
I KNEW that ending would have you 🤯😵💫😳😳😍😍🥰🥰🤣
Hi Jennifer hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤

Beautiful song. Great review. Thanks for what you do. I really enjoy your videos.
I didn't recognize Adam Rupp at first. It the first time I have ever seen him with his hair down. This is an Awesome video. And Brooke fit into it perfectly. Great Post, Jen
New subscriber. Appreciate your channel! Best wishes from Brisbane Australia ❣️
The harmonies have a very distinct Southern Gospel feel to them.
Okay, when are you going to sing with them? You have the voice and talent to pull it off! Waiting to hear to news.
