I always wondered what happened to the voice actor that voiced the Chesire Cat in American McGee's Alice.....now I know, he went on to voice for Phoenix Games.
The PS2 was a pretty great system. My PS2 is an original launch one and the only issue it has now a days, is some issues reading discs on occasion. I put that thing through quite a lot as well, so I'm amazed it still works pretty well.

Tekken 5 had crazy fast load times! Wow. Unrelated: For like five years I avoided Tekken 3, because I first played it on a grimy arcade machine at some big chain grocery store, next to the crane games and Homies gachapon. The cabinet's screen broke so every other line of pixels just displayed black, the color settings had turned way up so the characters bled into the backgrounds, the stick with its crusty bat top lacked neutral return, and the speakers blew out so every noise sounded like "BRRRRF BRFF SKSHHHHH." What a fond memory.
Maybe that kind of thing happened due to U.S. arcades crumbling, and having to sell lesser-played machines to whoever. As a dumb ten-year-old, I just thought all Tekken 3 cabinets shipped like that, haha. The Onyx Viper Well, 2P side might have had paper shoved in it. Classic prank.
HOLY SHIT, THE DEMO VERSION OF MONSTER HUNTER, I remember I used to play this when I was a little boye, I think I was so young I didn't realize it was a demo, I remember thinking this game was so short but somehow had so much fun with it
The PS2 was my first console and I played it from 2003 until well after the Wii came out. I still have this console and actually boot it up every once in a while, but i never knew the logo on the disc tray spun until i watched this stream about 15 years after getting the console and you bet your ass i dug it out and sat there spinning that logo for a solid 5 minutes like an idiot.
2:03:12 no,originally it was between both Upper Deck and Konami for yugioh. However Upper Deck got caught distributing bootleg cards so Konami took all control from them.

Holy shit. When I was a kid, I remember that the hospital where my little brother was delivered had a PS2 in our waiting room, and my older bro and I played Pac-Man World 2 there. There were complications, so we actually got pretty far. That’s the only time I’ve played that game, so seeing the trailer for that definitely brought back some memories.
For any Armored Core fan that could be following joel: i want to remind you he actually made a stream on Armored Core 2 Another Age (as seen even at 6:07 there appears to be saves of said game) Should we call him about making a new stream about it or not?
33:30 - If you were trying to play _Tekken Tag Tournament 2,_ Joel, it's no wonder that you got the red screen. _That was a PlayStation 3 disc._ Oh, well. Honest mistake? Also, as mentioned by Red, below, that demo disc was the SCEE Catalogue Video 3+ (SCED-51187) disc. So… it didn't have any demos. Just videos.
I hope to see Klonoa 2 sometime as it's is a super underated game, literally no one remembers or has even heard of the sequel. Its not quite as memorable as the first but it would be cool to see joel play it sometime. ^_^
Tekken 4 was my jam. There was a time where I actually wanted a haircut similar to Heihachi as like a 10 year old kid, or like Paul Phoenix. Glad I never did though I just have a faint memory of playing Tekken 4 on new years, I think on the end of 2004 and it found it amazing that my parents allowed me to play past midnight
32:44 - "This is one of my favorite games, by the way, Armored Core 2 is my fucking shit." As an Armored Core superfan, I was absolutely stoked to know Joel has played these games, and now I desire to play a few rounds of 2-player against him.
Yo Joel, don't really need a chip for PS2 to run backups; Really all you need is FreeMCBoot on your Memory Card, the PS2 ethernet/harddrive adapter, an IDE hard drive, an IDE to USB adapter... It seems like a lot but it's great for running back ups as burnt discs suck sooooo much. (Looking at you, Ape Escape) Basically you install (or buy a memory card with) FreeMCBoot using your choice of exploit (I personally used an Action Replay and a PS1 game), use the File Explorer to format the IDE hard drive in your PS2, then connect it to your PC and use WinHiip to send PS2 disc images to the HDD.
Anyone else have this issue where you want to get some older blue disc PS2 games, but every one you find looks like they were worn as sandals? Like the previous owner said "WHOA, BLUE DISK! I WONDER WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF I TAKE A BELT SANDER TO IT!!!" That's 4 copies of Tekken Tag Tournament I've found like that. Joel's is the same way.
Mine too, it's def in the top 3 of my favorite video game series. It's so different from the other dmc games that followed after too. It's much darker than dmc3/4/5 (well 5 idk, some moments are really dark, like one certain moment with Vergil (even two actually), and Dante's flashback with Eva). I replayed it recently and I was like "dude I don't remember that game being so dark and fucked, i'm literally doing demonic alchemy to open a portal to hell, I just sacrificed a giant bird as part of a ritual, I killed a possessed man who turned out to be my brother, I'm hunting the guy who's the reason why my mom and dad are dead, what the fuck", I just love it so much. A lot of that demonic stuff went waayyy past over my head when I was a 6yo playing that game for the first time, but replaying it now, damn, it's an even more amazing game then I remembered. I kinda wish they'd bring back the witchy/alchemy/dark/demonic rituals vibes, it'd be really cool tbh. And more item/room puzzles too.
@@LilUFO9499 Personally I hate DMC1. I do cut it some slack because it's the very first one and an early PS2 game but even still, it's a little too janky and difficult for me. However! If we're talking atmosphere. I think it's the best. I think 3 is my favourite over 5 just because it's more like the 1st one than the 5th one. That horror element and old castle setting in a newer DMC would be untouchable.
Yeah, there were a small number of PS2 and Xbox game that supported 1080i, though to be fair they were released in the mid-2000's, when the HD boom had just begun. The GameCube got the short end of the stick though, mainly because prior to 2007, Nintendo was regarded as a dying company not worth supporting, to the point where, for anyone outside of the company's core fanbase, them going third-party was considered a legitimate possibility (similarly to what people thought during the interim between the lead-up to the Switch's launch).

What a fond memory.

3:05:27 I love seeing this part; it embodies just what watching a Dingo movie feels like. XD
42:00 the record scratching is using that cartoon walking sound and I can't unhear it.
31:20 I'm pretty sure he creamed himself.
Some one please tell me what this silly Pac-Man song he played at 2:55:54 is called? I can’t find it.
3:12:15 is the best part of the whole bideo.
I look forward to part 2

ohh 480i we meet again
Eh, 480p still looks better even on a CRT.
The only problem was, hardly anything supported it back in the early 2000's.
GT4 supported 1080i AFAIK.
I know that, and it's impressive as hell!
1080p on PS3
WAY OF SAMURAI!
