Modern kevlar can only stop low velocity pistol rounds, to stop a common rifle round you would need some sort of composite material like the ones they use for body armor but they would be too thick and heavy for a helmet

As of right now, one gram of graphene cost's about 100 dollars, and even if a bullet can't pierce the helmet, you're still going to have to deal with the concussive force of a bullet being stopped by your head, less weight will make this problem worse.
