Props to Steve's bassist for stepping out and playing with her. That's real class and thoroughly professional. I'd love to know what was going through his mind as he watched her play.
BASS! that matters. and being rock fan.. I show Bass guitar solos to the people who listen to EDM for Bass. I be like.. See.. This is what called BASS.
She'd indeed. Keep her teaching music as we teach kids about life. Teach music as language... and someday she'll be talking to you musically as Steve on guitar and Mohini on bass did in this very video.
@@meghasinghaniahmu For sure! She certainly must have proven herself somewhere, to be able to play at such levels. However, I didn't know of her before, which is why I said that. I ment no disrespect. Cheers.

Oh my sweet Lord. Mohini Dey. I would truly love to meet you. Just to pick your brain about that beautiful bass. Your amazing, and everything else great. You rock, and keep on rocking.
Guthrie Govan, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani... or, Frank Gambale, John Scofield, Pat Metheny..., Jimmy Hendrix, David Gilmore, Hiram Bullock etc... Who would you "pigeon-hole" as the finest/best guitarist in the world ? They all (and many more) earned their places in "the pantheon of guitar greats", each of them for different reasons. Be careful before you write another phrase starting with: "The finest"... or "The best" in the world. There are legions of them. Do we need to go all the way back to Howling Wolfe, B.B. King, Charlie Christian, Wes Montgomery and such ? Have you ever heard these names: Larry Coryell, Emily Remler, Sylvain Luc, Biréli Lagrène, not to forget the father of the European Jazz Guitar: Django Reinhardt. Each of them evolved learning from those who came before her/him. There wouldn't be Guthrie Govan if there wasn't somebody before him, breaking the ground for his art... Here is something that, I'm sure, Guthrie Govan would enjoy to be part of: ua-cam.com/video/SSB4_hbZcYE/v-deo.html
Mohini Dey is so awesome she defines the meaning of the word. I saw Steve Vai 3 days ago in Manchester, he's back on tour, go if he's got a date near you.
Gives me goosebump when legendary Vai gives toomuch support n care as he plays Along side this young Talent that too in India.. Well vai never Overshadows any1 onstage..full of Fun
Found out about this collaboration from the comment section of a video of Mohini Dey playing with Guthrie Govan. More fire from Ms. Dey; good pairing here as well. How am I just now finding out about her? She's phenomenal!
Since when...? Jeff Beck is under the spell by the other lady bassist powerhouse, Tal (absolutely adore her playing). But I'd love to see Mohini jam with Beck some day!!
So impressive! I like the fact, that she really did her homework on the famous Victor Wooten Solo #41 with the DMB, which ist by the way even nicer with the proper chords on the guitar. She relied fully on these magical Wooten lines and licks in the beginning. Compare it!
Robert Schulenburg I thought I was the only one who noticed That !! It was almost note for note that awesome . That solo is so melodic and chordaly phrased it needs no backing
Nominations for the best player of this videos are 1: Steve Vai 2: Mohini Dey And the award goes to Jeremy Colson, longtime drummer (If I am not wrong he is Jeremy )
And people say bengali people cant have any job other than doctor engineer or lawyer, look you parents, Mohini is not only the best bassist from India, but she also played with Steve Vai, one of the greatest guitarists of all time, and many other incredible musicians from all around the world
People have been critical of this?! For what?! I guarantee they are a bunch of talentless jealous trolls. Their opinions are worthless and only god for inflating low self esteem. This young lady is on stage, live with STEVE VAI! Vai is my number one guitar hero. I've followed him since Zappa so I know he's not just gonna pick some average musician to collaborate with. There's gotta be a positive energy and spirit with that artist. I don't understand why we all can't appreciate and enjoy something great instead of nitpicking and looking for something to criticize. Damn, sorry about that rant LOL. She was awesome! Thanks for the video.

Ok time for the men to play step aside

Just sayin'....
She always brings a tear to this drummers eye! Soooooooooo talented.* Smile*
Her playing brought tears to MY (play at home bassist) eyes. I'm inspired.
Man... Just adore how she stands in front of the legend and shines... I wish my daughter would play like that some day...
Steve Vai seems like a really chill dude to be around.
He seems to like everything and everyone. :)
The only reasons she's not a legend is she too young.
buy your daughter a bass
