One of the best games of my life. Changed me forever.
This is an awesome Longplay. No skipped dialogue, repetitive actions, or guessing games. Just expertly done.

This game will forever stand as a significant event in my life. A memory I can bring myself back to and get lost in. It helped me cope with a deteriorating relationship I was in at the time. I played dreamfall before this, so playing this game cleared up things for that game which made it all the more invigorating. I love this series so much, tysm to the creators, my thanks can’t be stressed enough.

I remember playing this when I was an art student and this resonated with me. Something about this made me feel like the world was magical. Now, years later... when I watch/hear this, I feel enchanted all over again.

My father (who died few years ago) bought me this game when I was little kid. Never started on my old pc. This night I found the original disk covered by dust in an old drawer which bring me here. Maybe one week or another I will finally start this Long Journey (like 15 years later)...I feel nostalgic to just remember me watching this disk while don't understanding why It won't start, while my dad is trying to....
I personally love that you uploaded it this way. Makes it way easier to find where I am when I get stuck. Thank you.
I never ever get bored listening to the TLJ gameplays. I listen to it whenever I feel that I need to concentrate on work. And it helps. A LOT :)

Omg I remember this game. I remember getting it for my birthday when I was 12/13. I loved the graphics, the fantasy genre and I use to listen to all the dialogue. But not really understanding the story but as a 38 year old I can watch it again like a film. I remember playing a bit after school everyday! It took me months to finshe. I really loved this game🤎
I have no problem to imagine a movie adaptation of this, made by Peter Jackson. This story is really solid fantasy!

This was a very immersive game for me 10 years ago. Simply one of the best adventure games after Lucas Arts.

Yeah, but sometimes the dialogues are very awkward or just unimportant to the story. Like all sorts of those ridiculous quest that are there only to make the gameplay longer.

This is an awesome game! Have you guys done the sequel, Dreamfall by any chance? I bought it when it came out but I could never get used to the jacked up controls and I'd love to see how they continued the story from here...

Well, I have not played this game ever, and I dont like Point and Click games anymore, but I can say Full Throttle was a great p&c game back then. And... now the good news: Right now in Kickstarter there is a project to make a Longest Journey 3. They are in Greenlight too. Good luck for them, I think is a great story and yes, the world needs more games like this one.
I used to loove to draw and scatch to this game in the background when I was 15.. so soothing :) good goddamn times!
Possibly the best adventure ever made. I equally love Dreamfall, if not for its' adventure features, for the immersive story and extraordinary plot.
excellent work by the way! hour and a half in and im already intrigued by the story,exactly what i was looking for..someone who knows the right way to play these types of games, with all the dialogue and at a decent pace, very immersive.

Yep, this was excellent even if there were bits that felt rushed towards the end.

Not the best, sure, but it's the one that drew me in the most.
I'm glad I found this vid. My pc can run the game but everytime a cutscene starts it freezes at the first frame and stays that way until the cutscene ends. At least here I can watch :).

I can't emphasize enogh how much I love this game, how i miss this game and such wonderful genres. And I can't emphasize even more how the sequel, especially the Chapters ruined such amazing wonderful story!

Sybeia is also great, its a sorter game. But the puzzles are Even harder bording to illogical , unlike tlj puzzles which can be solved if you use your braind

More importantly , if only computer ADVENTURE games can still be around instead of stupid repetitive games like Angry Birds. I got bored after playing the game a few times because it's never ending game-play tires at least me out, but I feel I am not the only who goes through with this experience. Games like The Longest Journey are wonderful because not only they get to have ends without being boring with a story, but also having wonderful game-play as you couldn't ask for a better game experience than that. For me, I enjoyed playing COMPUTER adventure games like Toran's Passage and the Monkey Island games although I only watched my sister Jennifer and my dad playing The Longest Journey and its sequel Dreamfall and playing some of the King's Quest games.
You really don't have any idea how great Computer Adventure games are until you play and experience the games along with the storytelling that can make you enjoy the games immensely and love. the worlds you immerse yourself in.
I loved Monkey Island games, this days/years i enjoyed Life Is Strange & Remember Me from DONTNOD + this weekend i play The Turing Test which is a complex puzzle game with a great story about a crew on Europa with one of the subject of discovery: eternal life bacteria. To not mention that i play 1 mmo from Funcom for years (Secret World) where every mission is well done and part of the storyline and the characters look good, humans, take place in a end of world in modern days in Solomon Island, Egypt, Transylvania, Tokyo, Seol, NY, London... i love games which are closer to reality (not much into fantasy with elfs and orcs).
Game industry is not dead yet, thx to indie producers which struggle to survive and come with fresh titles which are not a copy-paste game under a different name and foil hat.
I have this game with both the Swedish and english versions and I still dream about this game, often its on the Island Alais and those stories but even the stories in the library.

This is weird. I saw the dreamfall longest journey first and things already make a bit of sense. Including the fringe and the house that April lives in. They definitely did a good job carrying over room dimensions from this game to the sequel.
It just hit me this game has many monkey Island reminders, like the monkey who is called guybrush but also Charlie( remember the capten rasta), Emmas "Friend" that she is going to meet sounds a lot like how govenor Marley could describe guybrush. And later the episode on the ship, But there is also many other references Like from starwars, robocop, Alice in wonderland, discworld( guilds like the guild of tourist and the fake talk of seacaptain, the strange gods like Mo'Jal.
Please reply if there is ANY OTHER GAME that can compare to Longest Journey - love fps, but come on! Gaming needs more Journeys!!!! -- tyia!

exactly, and if you leave in the middle, it will start from where you left, so it's convenient. I haven't watched it though, cause I'm playing the game myself :)
But thats the point. If it wasnt a 7 hour clip but instead seven 1 hour clips on a playlist then I would get less bugs when I play it or 15min clips on a playlist for that matter.

Same-sex sexual activity has been legal in Norway since the early seventies and is first country to enact anti-discrimination laws against homosexuals. So having a Norwegian company have a game present a homosexual couple in 1999 was no big deal. Having said this, I guess if people don't invest enough time talking to Fiona or follow her at the end of the chapter (where she and Mickey stay in to watch a movie) they won't notice the type of relationship she's in. Personally I always loved Fiona's British accent, she actually reminds me of someone I know irl (though she's straight) :) This game is simply the best...

So far I enjoy this game greatly. It only has one flaw: pixel hunting. I don't know if it counts as cheating if I check this video in that case to find the little object to pick or use in order proceed. (namely our ring, and the way to use it outside the hotel) ...
This play through took away so much of the experience of playing a game like this. So much of the fun is learning everything there is to know about every little detail, but apparently Boneofhead thought that the bare minimum was enough for viewers. Either s/he didn't play this with the viewers in mind, or s/he just wasn't in-tune with point-and-click adventures at the time.
check out the playthroughs from dilandau3000 he really narrates the story well.

Is this a PC only game? I bought it a few days ago, and on my MAC, it is listed as playable with play icon. But when i press play, i get an error?

It is not only PC. You can also play it on the iPad.

Well if they are in a playlist, then I dont agree. Also youtube might make trouble if you upload clips longer than 15mins, most people are unable to do so from the start.
I wish it was better quality.
I clearly explained why I complained about if being 7 hours long, if you stop playing it and go back the sound can desync. Sometimes it doesnt start on the right spot which means I have to write it down. If your browser suddenly crashes there is no way to know where you where. If you jump around in the clip the buffer might stop and the sound might desync.
I really like this clip but I dont understand you had to upload it 7 hours long for no good reason.

In my opinion this game is the only one really worth it I was a bit disappointed by the others
