Creating a character in Pathfinder 2E is a lot of fun and you really have the option to make almost anything you want but that complexity can be intimidating. There are tools available like Pathbuilder 2E that provide tools and a workflow to ease the process!
Hi there, one of the PF2e on Foundry devs here. We really don't advise people use character importers. Pathbuilder is great, but importers tend to make broken actors. Sometimes it's obvious and sometimes the breaking is subtle and you don't notice until something isn't automated properly, or breaks in a future migration. The system itself just develops faster than importers can keep up with reasonably. Build in Pathbuilder and use that as a reference to build in Foundry, it won't take more than a couple minutes to build out in Foundry directly.
Thanks for the comment! I did some looking around and I see that you are pretty involved on Github/Gitlab so just wanted to make sure it was a valid comment. Let me put a note high in the description and get to work on a character creation in Foundry itself to replace it. Don EDIT: I removed the Pathmuncher sections (processing through UA-cam now) and will work on building the character in Foundry. Thanks for your input.
It's one of my favorite tools to use for character creation! I will say that I got a comment on the Pathbuilder video from the PAthfinder2e module for Foundry that character importers can cause issues so I'll be doing a Character build in Foundry from Pathbuilder2e video as well. Don
Just as a heads up, importing into Foundry with Pathmuncher (or any other importer) can often cause unseen issues with characters as not every feat or feature will always map correctly. Might not see any issues for weeks or until you start playing with the character, then weird oddities might start appearing. If you use the Quick Insert module it can make building a character from scratch in Foundry (using pathbuilder as reference) much quicker and easier. Doing it this way should avoid any potential issues.
Hey MistaRee! The free version is really enough unless you really want companions, familiars and a few other things but as you mention if you can support it, I'm sure it helps! Thanks! Don
Chiming in with a 3rd 'please don't use importers' voice, as one of the people who hangs out on the discord doing basic troubleshooting help for people, the first step in that process if you have an imported character is to rebuild it by hand, as we cannot assume correctness otherwise.
Does anyone on here know how you select sub-element choices? I've been trying and trying and I can't find anywhere on the internet how you select your element for a thaumaturge's wand implement. I tried looking under "Actions", "Spells", and "Weapons", and I just can't find where I can set something that fine a detail on the sheet.

I love using Pathbuilder2e. Amazing tool!
Glad to see you back and feeling well, Don. Welcome back!

Thanks for the video AND thanks to everyone who gave the "Importers Are Imperfect!" warnings! That's GREAT info to have!
Very much so! I'm hoping to have something new up tomorrow.

Great video! I'm a huge fan of Pathbuilder and always recommend it. Free is plenty but the low price to support it is well worth it.

I am familiar with pb2e but have found an error. Can't find way of letting them know. Any idea?
