I also suggest the following: Foundry Summons - For any character using Summon X spells, it gives them a pop up list (GM sets what options are available for rare/unique mobs) and they can choose where it appears and it automatically sets the token and puts it under their control. Pf2e Staves - Adds a fully fleshed out Spellcasting entry when the character equips a staff. This allows them to easily see what is prepared into the staff, cast spells from it, and reset properly during daily prep.
Just installed the animation modules - loving them so far! My players and I have a habit of forgetting that Guidance was cast until after the fact - the visual reminder will be handy. Thanks for the recommendation!
I'm rolling around the idea on doing a video on just PF2E Workbench based on your comment! I really need to dig in a play with everything for a bit before I do though. It's definitely on the list. Don
There are tons and a few that have already been mentioned in these comments and on Discord. I might have a part 2! SmallTime, Simple Calendar, PF2E Workbench, Away from Keyboard to name a few... Don
Thanks for the comment! I'm glad that you found some new ones to try out! These are all ones that I find useful for my games and that I really enjoy. Don
As always, extremely informative. Learned things about add ons I use and learned about new ones. I need to spend some time on my upcoming PTO with one of my players and just play with the different features so I can get their input on how things work from their side. I've been using Roll Tracker but I need to change it to Dice Stats for sure.
Thanks Ravenspath! One idea I do suggest is to use a separate browser and log into your game as a user and you can see how everything appears. You don't even need a different computer, I'll use chrome for my account and edge or firefox for the user account. Don
That is a really good point and logging in yourself only give you a view rather than the indepth stuff the a player would need to look at in an intense combat or exploration or downtime activities. Don
Thanks for watching and the comment! Now I have a new module to go look up, I hadn't heard of smart target before but I have now! I'm planning on doing another video with viewer suggestions for modules as well so I'll include that one in there! Don
The combat tracker is so good, my major gripe as a dm has been dealing with having the combat tracker take up so much space on my screen. Thanks so much!
You asked about more Foundry modules. How about less. 😄 If you are just using Token Mold for mystification the module PF2e Workbench will do the same job. Most PF2 games already have Workbench installed. I like the shortened curated adjective list that Token Mold uses so I imported it as a roll table and told Workbench to use the Token Mold list. I can post the roll table to Don's discord if there is interest.
That is a great idea actually, especially if you're not on the forge or self hosting as they would count against your storage limit.. PF2E Workbench is a great module and it does a lot! I didn't actually know that it did that and I've been running it for awhile! Apparently I need to go through the settings for it. Thanks for that! Don
I feel like you might enjoy the module Polyglot, which allows you to chat in-game using the languages known by the selected token -- and only players who can read that language can read it. So if your Lich speaks Necril and only one player knows it, then they can relay that to the rest of the party and giving them a cute benefit to having picked up that language.
Oh, that sounds fantastic and extremely usable! I can think of so many situations this could be used! Thank you for the recommendation, I'm going to check it out tonight! Don
I may have missed it if you mentioned it, but Token Tooltip has some settings to split the LONG LONG lists into a 2 column format, which I honestly think should be the default.
Thanks for the comment! I didn't mention it because I didn't know that there was a setting for that 😂! I really do like it. Probably better than token action. HUD but it just doesn't record as well when you're trying to show something... Thanks for letting me know! Don
Thanks! Great info... Do you know if there is a way to change the fonts (not just the colours) used on the Action HUD? They are a bit hard for my old eyes to read.
Thanks for the comment! I'll do some looking but there was (and still is but it seems to be unmaintained) a module called Custom Fonts: foundryvtt.com/packages/custom-fonts I did install it and could not get it to work though. I did go to the discord for the module and it looks like it's not going to be updated. I did find a reddit thread but it is about two years old and involves editing your css files and using the Custom CSS module: foundryvtt.com/packages/custom-css/ I don't think there is an easy way unfortunately! Don
I like that break time very much but I was looking for something the player could do to show that he's AFK without interrupting the game, do you know any module capable of that? Awesome video btw, I already use all modules you said, altho I prefer Tool Tips instead of Action Hud, you can set it up to become quite nice and organized so I honestly find it better
Thanks for the comment! Yup! You can use Away from Keyboard: foundryvtt.com/packages/afk It allows anyone to type /afk into the chat and a little "zzz" icon shows by their name in the player list. You can set it post a message in chat when they go AFK or just have the icon show up on the player list. To come back from AFK, they need to post a message to chat. Don
hi sly, im new to your channel. i bought foundry like 3 years ago, i tried to run a game but the complexity and pressure of using foundry i just gave up and used owlbear rodeo for that game. what im wondering is this, i have an idea for a pf2e game in person where it would be a hybrid game where i would use pf2e on foundry to run the game as the gm. but there would still physical dice rolling and i would love if i could have a second monitor that i can show things to the players on but MAYBE not the overhead style map. i want to avoid the players feeling like its a video game. i feel like this could make a decent video =) im open to suggestions and comments or ideas. since pf2e is so well integrated i feel like it might actually help me organize and remember whats going on with my ADD brain. id need it to be simple, any addons would be like ease of use stuff to help me. on the second monitor i could put handouts, maps, the monster art and things like that that add to immersion but not the gamey feel of the overhead maps
So this is something that I have seen a few people be interested in so a really good question! I don't specifically have experience here but I was able to find an article that still seems to be relevant: Usng Foundry for in-person gaming: www.foundryvtt-hub.com/guide/using-foundry-for-in-person-gaming/ Don
I also suggest the following:
Foundry Summons - For any character using Summon X spells, it gives them a pop up list (GM sets what options are available for rare/unique mobs) and they can choose where it appears and it automatically sets the token and puts it under their control.
Pf2e Staves - Adds a fully fleshed out Spellcasting entry when the character equips a staff. This allows them to easily see what is prepared into the staff, cast spells from it, and reset properly during daily prep.
Thanks for that! Those are great ideas to add! I'll put those in the list!
Don
Looking forward to picking up Foundry after our move in the first of the year. Thanks, Don, for highlighting these!
Absolutely and thanks for watching and the comment!
Don
Just installed the animation modules - loving them so far! My players and I have a habit of forgetting that Guidance was cast until after the fact - the visual reminder will be handy. Thanks for the recommendation!
Absolutely and I'm glad the video helped! It's great for those kind of things as well as the condition token animation!

Love hearing about these modules. I'm really happy with how many great modules for pf2e there are.

This is a very different set of modules than most other people suggest for PF2e on Foundry. Thanks! There's some great stuff here.
Thanks for the comment!

@@slystrategist Thanks. I do that some, but since some settings are client specific I want to check what is different for them.

Great module list! I have too many, but one I love that you didn’t mention is Smart Target . Simple but helpful.
Thanks for watching and the comment!

There are so many options for the Combat tracker I hope you can get it to how you like it .. it really is a great module!

@@slystrategist yeah PF2e Workbench is a must! It has alot of automation settings in it.

@@slystrategist ah thanks m8, I'm gonna try it out
What program(s) did you use for the character portraits?
I liked that they've got the same style.
Aaaand you seem to answer this @ ~10 minutes in to the video :) Seems like Hero Forge + that token mod. =Þ
