@@cosmicfilth4028 bro, this is the exact way I’ve made money to buy 70% of my gear. No one thinks about it and crack heads don’t give blood b/c they have toxins in the system normally so you’re not getting weirdos at the donation stations. 2 other dudes that I shoot and train with also give blood for money. You can actually make a lot of money doing it. Every 8th visit I get a $900 bonus because of how badly the clinics need blood. The supply is very low.

2 rifles: one for 300 maybe a bit farther and in. One for 200ish and mainly in. 2 pistols: one that can be an edc as well as a duty/ combat and one for only duty/combat. one shotgun: any situation mainly a key to the city but also as a give away if need be. Not to mention all the gear you need for each weapon. To include kit to do recon and low vis ops. Once my 14.5 GPR build is done and I get a wml and sling on my shot gun, this is my next step.

You echo many of my thoughts about civ night vision.
Folks should really buy NV only if:
    A. Other kit and baseline training is squared away.
    B. You can afford it without going into debt, and or draining their family vacation fund, kid'(s) college funds, etc.
    C. If you know you'll have the TIME INVESTMENT to devote to training to achieve the minimum competency to actually engage an opponent.
Note: This is training time *on top of* the time you are already devoting to daylight training. One can't really replace the other; these are two different skill sets.
    D. If you know that you have access to a range or land that allows for low light/night shooting (not as common as you might think).
    E. You have other team mates who are also NV equipped (don't get sucked into this lone wolf operator nonsense).
If even one of these elements is missing, IMO, you should seriously rethink spending the money and focus on more productive time/money investments.
As with everything else, be realistic about the likelihood you will have to use this. Don't invest this kind of money based upon some kind of movie plot you've conjured in your head or pipedream goonsquad aspirations that have little chance of happening in real life on planet Earth.

I have everything checked off, aside from the fiscal position. My personal finances are tight after a few surprises earlier this year. However, I think NVGs are a must, especially if you live in an urban area. NVG30 looks like the first affordable digital solution that offers any real practicality. So I just took that plunge.

Best way to get into NV is to get a PVS-7 secondhand ($1300-1600) or GP PVS-14 ($2300-2800). Don't let people gaslight you into taking out a second mortgage to pay for WP duals initially. NV holds its value and if it comes time for you to upgrade, you can sell your original set for like 90% of what you bought it for.
I'm an airborne infantry veteran, sample size of one, but I prefer an extremely high spec PVS-14 over budget duals at the $4000 price point.

Let's hope the digital night vision guys don't try to jump on the extremely high-priced train. At least the analog night vision manufacturers can justify their prices based on the high cost of making just one analog tube. I'm not too hopeful about this though seeing that Sionyx priced the Opsin at the price of a PVS-14 which is ridiculous.

You aren’t wrong. And weve handled units that nobody else in this nation has seen. It is coming, but it’s not what everyone thinks it will be.
It will be ridiculously expensive at first, because the tech doesn’t exist in mass manufacturing. Once it’s mass produced, it will get less expensive, but for reasons we legally can’t even discuss, it will still be very expensive when you first experience it.

@Arkayne Co anything that is groundbreaking and brand-new is going to be expensive. The difference ultimately will be that the price will come down because of competition. Right now, we know where tubes come from. Same reason why thermal keeps getting cheaper and better. Once tube technology gets out of the way and digital gets better it will just make it easier and easier for new companies to pop up. Competition is the best thing for the consumer.

Gotta' ask...Why???? Why would you sink 21grand on a panos set-up and not even have an IR laser yet???? Panos when the highest spec dual set-up would be more than enough with $$ left over to buy your IR laser....and whatever else. No matter how justified, panos don't offer a significant increase in capabilities over duals that warrant the cost difference for the average civ dude. And some would make the same argument with duals against 14's. Nonetheless, I'd take duals over an empty wallet and neck strain any day...but...it's your money.

@@billydanzz I haven't gotten an ir laser yet as I'm still deciding. I just got them back a month ago. I may have to go with the B.E. Meyers Mawl. No neck strain for me. I wore them for about 5-6 hours at a time and my neck has been okay. Maybe that's not enough time to feel any real strain.
I just have the mentality of I would rather spend 5 times the money on something I really want than a 5th of the price on something that I don't really care for.
