I will never again see a complicated vest pattern without thinking of Mark. 😀 Congratulations 🎊 on your extreme restraint. And hey, we love what you say to your iPhone whilst sitting on your floor.

So much fun and oh there were sooooo many colors of yarn, I don't know how you only brought one home! I've stashed dived for my Stephen West Mystery knit a long. I came up with a undyed cream color, and dark forest green with a little dark gray color, and a bright lime green "pop" of color. Can't wait for that to start! I have seen you yarn colors for the mystery knit along. La Bien Ame'! I just love the fall orange set you chose. Thank you for showing us all the beauty that is yarn!

What a fun momento from this yarn show with that skein of Bona. Really striking. I look forward to seeing what you choose as your pattern. I saw you stop by and I have some of Kettle Yarn Co. I have yarn that I purchased during the online Yorkshire Yarn Fest from Earth Day edition 2021. It is lovely. I have plans. I thought Garthenor was interesting. I will look into their company. It looks like you had fun with all the things. Thanks for showing us.

Who was the twin with Mark wearing similar shirts. Loved seeing all the wonderful projects and I noticed quite a few vests were shown. Mark was being very subtle with his sample showing wasnt he!

There are no yarn shops or yarn festivals like this where I live so it's nice to see what is out there through UA-cam. I liked seeing all the samples too. I've often found that some yarns look nicer on the ball/skein than they do made up, but have even had one surprise me by thinking it was one of those until it impressed me how it knit up. So samples are a great way to see how they might look.
I don't think a regular crafter could ever have too much yarn. Maybe too few choices. Haha..
I also think if one is going to go to a festival one should plan to put some funds aside for it to support a vendor (or 2 or 3..) :P

Hi, Martyn….I just knew you would show at least one skein of yarn that you purchased at the show. When I saw you pick that colorful one up during the show, I thought to myself….”Martyn will choose that one!“. And you did!!! I love it!!! Anyway, you mentioned Reese a couple of times….is that one of your brothers? I felt like I should have know who you were talking about. It sounds like you guys had the best time ever. Thank you so much for taking us with you to this yarn show…so fun! I hope The Little Grey girl (Is her name Janna?) is healing with your excellent medical care. Anyway….Have a great month of September, and I’ll be watching for your next episode. Hugs….🤗❤️🙋

Gemma is the dyer/maker. Rhys is one my mates who flew down for the show, we were all in the same hotel. But fun fact, my younger brother is also called Rhys!
So glad you chose the right yarn for me haha :)

Happy Monday w a video from Martyn! That Fair Isle vest wouldn't take near as long or be as fiddly as the argyle 😄
I find yarn shops to be overwhelming; can't imagine a show with all those booths!! Thank you for bringing it to us.

Wish I’d been at Unravel as I loved it last year in spring. I shall be looking up some new dyers including Bona Yarns. Those pops of colour = wow

    Hi Martyn,
Lovely show, lots of dyers I’d not seen before and a few of my favourites (Rosie’s Moments for one, and Yarn Whisperer of course)
Love your skein, will check out the dyer definitely.
    Take care x

Hi 👋. Thank you for taking us around. I have still not been 🙈. But can’t leave my elderly baby (dog).
The tank top Mark held up. I think on Garthenor stand. Is stunning. 😊

I often look up the website for any shop who displayed an interesting project. If they offer an electronic pattern, I can buy it, so thank you for taking the time to feature each shop's name. I’m in the US, so I can’t always purchase wool, due to shipping costs, but a nice pdf makes my day!

I thought your video was much better at this show. We were given time to look closely and not zooming in and out and all over the place. So thank you for that. I was able to watch the whole lot. Did you notice Mark holding up a fairisle vest??? I think it was a hint. ❤️

Oh my, that was all so lovely to see. Thanks for showing us what we missed! I couldn't go as I was teaching a spinning workshop at Ammonite Yarns. All that yarn squishing makes me sooo happy!!!!!!

Great tour!! Looks like so much fun!
I was going through my stash as I was watching, I think I found the perfect set for the MKAL!!! (Well, two actually, but I'm going to ask non-knitter friends to decide for me).
Here in the US in California/Nevada they're having the Sierra Nevada yarn crawl later this week & that's where I was going to pick.....but I got furniture instead. 🤣😂🤣🤷
Next time tell Gemma she needs to use reusable zip ties!! Then she won't have to cut them... Hope she's better soon!!

    Good job first aider!
I'd say knitters can be dangerous, esp. when you consider the pointy needles. Imagine using DPNs and suddenly next to your eye something itches. You got both hands occupied cause you are knitting stranded socks. So what you do? Yeah 😝 (not a real story, just a little thought experiment)
Anyways, that was a lot of yarn after you kept us waiting haha
super interesting and different options there.
Fun to see all the Slipstravaganzas but no Shawlographies?
You're such a kit buyer for MKALs, you sure you don't have stash to do it? 😏But I guess you'll be so busy from now on to the end of the year so you won't have any time for buying yarn?? (Mark hopes)
This year is gonna be my 3rd MKAL and the third I do from stash 😇So all the yarn shopping during the rest of the year has a purpose!
Rowan blanket is slowly growing, 3 "stripes" finished, 4 to go plus sewing the stripes together.
Don't know why but those squares take forever to dry. And I can only do 7 at a time..
Butbutbut! Just finished my Kangarullover, cound off the neckline while watching you squish all the yarn. Yay!
No blocking needed and I also just sew in all the ends. Gonna calculate how much yarn I used (13 100g skeins minus some little yarnballs - it's a stashbuster!) tomorrow.

Thanks so much for taking us along to unravel. Lots of yarn envy here as I live in tropical area of Australia and my closest lys is two days drive away. Unfortunately not the same selection of yarns but quite a few indie dyers in Australia but none up here in the tropics.

Martyn. Bravo!!!! Best pod cast ever! I cut my finger slicing a turnip for soup yesterday, and had to go to sleep urgent care . I couldn’t knit yesterday😞 The vest Mark held up was stunning!! I’m more into project bags than yarn cause I have more wips than you!! I’m asking for the Hide n Hammer leather bucket for my birthday! Gorgeous show, gorgeous yarn , I will watch this one so many times !! Amazing !! Thanks

Some of those hide and hammer bags are drool worthy! Being in the US, I cringe over shipping, but they’re lovely! Soy cotton? Is it drying on the hands like dishcloth cotton or closer to the Giza (bergot de pazzi sp?) type of soft?
