The Golden Coral is one of America's most iconic buffet. Known for their crispy juicy fried chicken and fried shrimp, made to order steaks hot off the grill, and loads and loads of salads and desserts, this is the first buffet experience for many!
I am an American and I would never eat there again. I made the mistake of eating there, once. The quality of food and variety of items, pretty much sucks. I bet you'll never go back there! LOL!
Yes - smorgasbord. There was a very nice nice place called the Lakeview Smorgasbord. Very beautiful. Very big. Huge banquet halls for weddings and restaurant rooms for a small corporate dinner. Grand piano, art room with fantastic oil paintings. Place was impressive. And grand at any age or time.
Before the Pandemic, we went for the senior early-bird special. Just the fried chicken and salad bar. So good. Golden Corral never gets the credit that it deserves.
The fried chicken is amazing and it’s something that you would likely not do at home because of how much work and messes involved. Really enjoyed it and it was unanimous around the table.
i havn't been to Goden Corrall since i was a kid, i used to go to old country buffet with my grand parents almost every weekend...i remember when i was about 11(2007), we got up super early and went to target and my grandma bought me and my brother and sister a Nintendo Wii, the last one in stock, then we went to the buffet...it was a great day

Hello Tim And Friend's . I and family love to eat at Golden Corral . I'm glad all of you enjoy eating your food . It's hard to choose what to eat . There is so much food . Thanks for sharing your experience . You And Friends . Have A Wonderful Day.😊
When I lived in Houston, Golden Corral was one of my favorites. I went once a week. After moving to the Bay Area, there is no Golden Corral here. I really missed it
I was also about to say there’s most certainly a Golden Corral here. It’s in Concord in the same parking lot as our Seafood City. I think it’s probably the only GC in the Bay Area though.
I was in a GC only once in my life. It was in Orlando and children were running about putting their hands into the food. It disgusted me so much I didn’t not eat anything and did not return. I must admit that your review provided a different experience. The pot roast and fried chicken and baked potatoes looked pretty good. Thank you for sharing and like some others I was pleased you got to try different potato dishes!
I know! It’s interesting because I’ve noticed a lot of places have gotten rid of the chocolate fountains for that exact reason. I’ve seen many people, young and old use their fingers to put the fruits on the skewer and dip it into the fountain.
Golden Corral's official policy is that kids under ten are not allowed to be in line alone. Under-tens must have their food served for them by an accompanying adult. Unfortunately, this is difficult to monitor, and the parents don't like to be told what to do. Causes tension sometimes! But every parent with younger kids is supposed to be told when they come in: "Sorry, but these kids need to be with an adult when they're in line."
I'm always happy to see a new Tim Lee video! I've never thought 🤔 about going to a buffet just before dinner to get the lunch price. Great idea. I can't eat much and it would be closer to a fair price.
Thank you for taking us along Tim 😄I have to admit, our last visit to the Orlando location was nothing like the one you experienced. The place you visited looked so much cleaner and offered so much more! I still remember my first time going to Golden Corral, back when it was only $9.99 😅Tom had me cracking up with "Who comes to Golden Corral for the health?" 😂
I disagree about the pot roast. The pit roast with potatoes, carrots and onions in gravy is quite good if it is fresh. I don't really like the carved roast beef though -- too fatty, too tough and too dry
To be fair to GC on pricing, there is a $6.10 difference on Lunch v Dinner on weekdays. The $0.50 savings difference is the Sat pricing (and Sun pricing is basically dinner the whole day).
His robot-like voice is cutting right through us. That’s the nicest Golden Corral buffet we’ve ever seen. Went to one and it was awful. They were super slow to refill the trays of food and what they did have was cold and quite lack luster. Tim makes out great! Enjoy
Hi Tim! Where I live in Evansville, IN in the Ohio Valley our Golden Corral on the eastside is very good. Food is excellent. Steaks, pot roast, fried chicken really good, fried shrimp fried catfish, pork, taco station, ,etc. mac-n-cheese, green beans, corn, potato salad, banana pudding, chocolate pudding, all the pies, cakes. Live Golden Corral
I gotta say this is a welcome review of a guilty pleasure. Last time I went to a chain buffet was 40 years ago with my grandparents. But a part of me really misses them. Anyone remember Kings Table? Maybe it is nostalgia? 😂
Thank you so much for reaching out! It is a pleasure to read many of the comments here where a trip to the Golden corral triggers wonderful memories of past holidays and eating with friends and family.
I only went to GC twice. Food was ok. Fried chicken and mashed potatoes, meatloaf and vegs was all I got. Carrot cake was good too. Now I loved Old Country Buffet. I'd go there once a week when in college. Price was cheap and a lot of food. Missed that place.
I am 100% with Theo's buffet strategy! That's what i try to do normally with buffets. Have my meals, end it with desert for round 1, "rinse and repeat". That way i don't miss out on the desert section. Which i normally do with buffets. Or i don't get enough of it.
I was at my local Golden Corral for lunch a few days ago. It's not too bad and I think it's worth the price. The fried chicken and cheddar broccoli soup is almost always my go to items. The pot roast it's hit or miss with me and when I went, it was good
Unfortunately, the Golden Corral in our area is smaller and offers much less. I went once and have not been back because tables were not cleared quickly or clean, and floors were slippery. Most items were low cost starchy dishes and overcooked vegetables, and when they put out a more expensive item, a few people grabbed it all and there seemed to be a required time delay before they were allowed to replenish them. Then, the same thing happened again. Also, they told people to go get a drink without telling them there was an extra charge and at that time, there was a charge for refills.
I finally went to GC. I left without eating. Food tables were run through. Little left & quite messy food bars. I thought there was a larger variety of food. From what I've seen on UA-cam anyway. I guess my local GC has less food? It was 45 minutes before closing.
@@stevewashere4122 The late hour may have been the problem because they are reluctant to replenish just before closing. But I went during normal lunch hours and it was pretty much the same.
A friend of mine from Bermuda would always love to go to Golden Corral when he was visiting in the States. It is a very good variety and it is so good. I did love their fried chicken and their yeast rolls and of course the desserts. It is really hard to find a good buffet now. I am really hungry now since seeing you eat all of that amazing food.
My personal favorites - onion rings, tater tots, potato chips, pot roast, pulled pork - it seems that sometimes I would be served a sub-prime portion of a chuck steak which is quite tender. In some LA locations there use to be a taco station.
Thank you so much and I just had to try the banana pudding. It was interesting because I liked it because it tasted nothing like bananas, and my friend Albert hated it because there was no banana flavour to it. I hope you had a great dinner.
Have never seen anyone enjoy something as simple as a grilled cheese but instead of tomato soup, he dips the sandwich into a New England style clam chowder!! Yum. Fantastic idea Tim Lee!!
Congrats Tim on the 100k+ subscribers thats some crazy growth. Found you when you made the Chinese New Year dinner video with your family. You have come a long way
I tried Golden Corral for the first time a couple of months ago. After that initial visit, I felt like it was worth the money but that I probably would not return anytime soon. Fast forward to today, and I have become hooked on the place with already half a dozen viisits. I pretty much can't eat out anywhere else for so little money. I go before they switch over to the dinner menu, and since I am now considered a senior, it is just $10.49, and that includes a beverage (but I just get water). While there are some bland offerings (I am _not_ a fan of the mac 'n' cheese), I really like the pot roast, catfish, bbq chicken, bbq ribs, and steak. I normally do not eat salad at buffets, but for the low price, I make one and it is nice and fresh. I tried the chili for the first time this week; it is a new favorite. Next week I may have to make a chili/cheese/bacon/sour cream baked potato.
It’s interesting how it grows on you. Very comforting food, and that baked potato that you mentioned alone would’ve been worth the price of admission.😋😋😋
Another good review of a family style buffet. I went to a Golden Corral in Southern California and they served deep fried chicken liver which was very delicious.
The Old Country Buffet and New China Buffet here in Phoenix were my favorites. Both went out of business. The Old Country Buffet had the BEST breakfasts and the New China Buffet always had lots of fish done every way possible.

Excellent video. I've been to the Golden Corral in Henderson about 20 minutes from the Las Vegas strip. I found it to be my second favorite only surpassed by the Southpoint Garden Buffet Monday thru Thursday prime rib dinner buffet.
That looked quite tasty, Tim. I'd go heavy on the fish, cauliflower, and okra. I always liked the Golden Corral but it's not too popular where I live in Pennsylvania.
So cool you checked them out. Have been going to GC since i was a teen. It depends on where ya go on the food. Some are spot on and others are blahhhh. You totally need to check out the weekend breakfast buffet yummm.
It was the first time there and ready enjoyable. I’ve been seen many other dishes mentions here in the comments at other GCs Would be interesting to see what ask the differences are
: ) GO Tim! ANOTHER great share and place I need to try in Seattle area ! I think my 11 year old Grandson that's GROWING, would LOVE a Buffet : ) He can eat way more than I for some time :) ENJOY and ALL the BEST ! Cheers : )
It depends which Golden Corral you to to. We have 2 within 15 minutes of our home. One is consistently bad, the other is always good. If I want to eat steak, this is our go to. It's the only buffet where I eat salad because they always keep it so cold. Add a couple steaks,a piece of fried chicken, and a few fried shrimp, and I'm a happy camper. Lunch here is only about $12.
Aloha Tim ! We haven't gone to a Golden Corral Buffet ! That is Nice pay for lunch &eat dinner ! Listening to your comments ...we will give it a try ! Looks Delicious ! Thank you for sharing !!!
Great review...nice to see Albert again...very clean stations for a buffet 😉...I think regarding the pot roast, might be the location and the cook 😋...glad you all enjoyed yourselves...safe travels and God Bless ❤😊
Tim, I think Albert gave some good advice to come early, if not for the price, then for being able to get a seat for a party of 5. @ 38:17 it looks very crowded with seating at a premium as your camera pans around the room. I don't know how to spell the name of the young lady, but you can tell that she is definitely a lovely dinner companion, very friendly with a pleasant, upbeat personality !!
The GC has an Early BIrd Senior (60+) dinner starting at 4 PM. You get a drink added on. It's around $10 Monday through Friday. The food is okay, don't go in thinking it's fine dining. Different locations my vary the price. Thanks, Tim. Another great review.
Yum our Golden Corral is always so busy during the week from eleven to.pne they do a senior citizen and on Saturday morning they have a breakfast buffet yum ❤
Hi there tim golden corral is a good family buffet for a reasonable price that's what I like most about your content tim is that you go across the board with trying different kinds of buffets. Thanks for sharing
Hello! In Texas, the food at Golden Corral is much more stocked than this location and they're constantly putting more out! Texas is BIG on buffets. We love to eat 😊😊 My family enjoys your videos. We want to try the Amish buffet you went to in Pennsylvania.
Some seem to be more equal than others. Most of them have closed in Central Florida. But Golden Corral is our last affordable buffet style cafeteria. I hope it survives.
The pot roast has never been tough and dry! It's always delicious. Hint - Golden Corral locations can vary - different offerings and quality. Find a good one!

So cool you checked them out. Have been going to GC since i was a teen. It depends on where ya go on the food. Some are spot on and others are blahhhh. You totally need to check out the weekend breakfast buffet yummm.
Never thought I’d see Tim at a Golden Corral. I wish they would change up their menu. I feel like they’ve had the same things on the buffet for years.
It was the first time there and ready enjoyable. I’ve been seen many other dishes mentions here in the comments at other GCs Would be interesting to see what ask the differences are
GREAT GREAT JOB on your review as always. I have watched many videos from others and yes sir I enjoy yours the best. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind comment🙏
I love their rolls with the honey butter ❤
Darn it, I miss the rolls and honey butter. Will make sure to catch that the next time.
Hey…Tim. Love Golden Corral. Haven’t been there in a few years since Covid. Hope you enjoy this place.
It was a very nice experience. First time there and really great to see the servers and cooks taking pride in what they do!
That is quite a spread offering by Golden Corral with fish, chicken and steak.....wow! Long drive from Vancouver to Puwayllip
It was quite a nice buffet and very well kept. It was a nice excuse to bring everyone to the buffet.
Looks delicious thank you.
It was great to be able to take the god kids to their first buffet. Really nice experience and very good fried chicken as well.
Hi Tim, this GC actually looked pretty good. The one I went to in Florida was not very good. I think it depends on the location. Ty for the review.😊
Great review thank you seems like everything was delicious
They did a very good job. Very humble and comforting food at its finest.
Spent many summers in Iowa. It was Golden Corral or Ponderosa Steakhouse. I am always excited to go to Golden Corral.
Tim! My baby always dances to the music you play in your intros. 😂
That is good advice indeed. The lovely young lady is Takara my goddaughter. I will pass it on and I think you made her day.
I use to go and eat during the breakfast lunch transition
I think that’s the better transition
Hi Tim and Friends. We love your video ❤ and Have a Amazing week ahead
Wishing you an amazing week as well
Wow! This time you went all the way including a stuffed potatoe☺️Great job Tim! The US always has great food options😊
Thank you so much and really enjoyed the golden corral. It’s very nice to see everyone there. Take pride and what they do.
The GC has an Early BIrd Senior (60+) dinner starting at 4 PM. You get a drink added on. It's around $10 Monday through Friday. The food is okay, don't go in thinking it's fine dining. Different locations my vary the price. Thanks, Tim. Another great review.
Thank you so much! Very true...nothing fancy; just good affordable comfort food and great people.
As someone who watches Hocus Pocus on a yearly basis in October, I clearly understood the Madonna reference 🤣
😂
another wonderful buffet Tim, the food looks delicious.
Thank you so much🙏
yea there my favorite too i go for the ham from the start on the cutting station
Oh, I wish I had a chance to try the ham… Just too many items on the plate
Yum our Golden Corral is always so busy during the week from eleven to.pne they do a senior citizen and on Saturday morning they have a breakfast buffet yum ❤
Very good and comforting food and very affordable as well. Really enjoyed it.
Great video...other than the shots of the buffet, the rest makes me think of a potluck in the best possible way. Thank you for sharing!!
Oh, fried chicken and pot roast are the wonderful staples at the potluck
@@TimLeeLetsGo Lovely!
Glad you came to US but Golden Corral not really my first choice lol. But thank you for your commitment bringing food reviews to the world.
It was my first time at the Golden corral and really enjoyed it. Really fun and doesn’t break the bank.
@@TimLeeLetsGo Yes Indeed. Not sure if they have pork liver on the day. That's also local favorite
I love Golden Corral!! Great review ❤
First time there and really enjoyed it!
Hi there tim golden corral is a good family buffet for a reasonable price that's what I like most about your content tim is that you go across the board with trying different kinds of buffets. Thanks for sharing
That was the first time there and really enjoyable. It was nice to be about to take the family and friends out without breaking the bank 😁
Golden Corral has some the best fried chicken… and is so underrated
Totally!
It's because they dump and clean their frying oil on a schedule without fail, according to company policy.
Funny, that's the mall near me! I live maybe 10 minutes from there. Love your videos.
Wow! That’s so convenient… I would be gaining a few pounds extra if I live so close by
Hello! In Texas, the food at Golden Corral is much more stocked than this location and they're constantly putting more out! Texas is BIG on buffets. We love to eat 😊😊 My family enjoys your videos. We want to try the Amish buffet you went to in Pennsylvania.
Ok… you had me sold on the Texas Golden Corral!!!
Great review, I never have tried Golden Corral, thanks to you I will know. Take Care Tim
That was my first time as well and really enjoyed it. Really good food and very nice to see everyone taking pride and what they do.
Hi ! I have eaten at Golden Corral and it's good food sometimes 😮. Yet I now eat at home 🏡 , because I like saving my money 💰 🤑 💸 and time .
Things are quite expensive nowadays for sure! Nice to find some value buffets out there still but yeah, it does add up
the fried chicken and gravy.. yummmmmm
😋 definitely some of the top items there
Some seem to be more equal than others. Most of them have closed in Central Florida. But Golden Corral is our last affordable buffet style cafeteria. I hope it survives.
I hope it survives too😋
Tim Lee, one of titans in the foodie scene 😅😅😅
A Globetrotter. Bringing you the best foodie news😅😅😅
You can tell the fried catfish is good just by your face and eyes and sounds - hahahaha
Fried chicken & Fried shrimp? Yes, please. The prime rib dinner nights at GC are very good also!!! 😍🥰
Thank you for the heads up! Will definitely look forward to the prime rib dinner next time
That boy is just GOURGEOUS!!! He should be a model!
I’ll pass that along to Albert 😂
@@TimLeeLetsGo You should do more videos with him🥰🥰🥰🥰
I can't believe THIS video is how I found out the Old Country Buffett that used to be there closed down. End of an era.
Oh, I love the old country buffet😋
Pot Roast, cream potatoes with gravy, fish, corn on the cob, yeast roll is the best meal at Golden Corral.
Golden Corral, the land of plenty. Enjoyed your company, too.
It is quite a nice place.😋😁
I remember going there many years ago. I recall an obese man eating by himself, and saw my future as a regular.
Great video as always Tim. I’ll treat you to a buffet if I’m ever in Canada 😊
You're very kind.. no worries and hope you get a chance to visit!
The pot roast has never been tough and dry! It's always delicious. Hint - Golden Corral locations can vary - different offerings and quality. Find a good one!
Been in USA more than 30 years now ! I did visited this place once in late 90es …
