    It saddens me that this game was slept on for over a decade by so many people. It's been a hell of a journey since release, and it's in a vastly better place now that it was since day 1.

      @@TheUsername217 I've never heard players of a game say that the publishers of the game they play is good at marketing. As recent as today I heard a friend say that Square Enix sucks at marketing FFXIV. Apparently they're using the wrong influencers or something.

    About Gemstore:
    Please consider the fact that gold can be converted to Gems, and gold can be farmed (at lvl 80 with the rate of 20-30 g/h).
    Most of the players I know (including myself) have not spent money on the gemstore but actually farmed the QoL upgrades needed; it's an important goal in gw2.
    And most of these QoL upgrades are account-bound.
    Also, I don't consider bagspace to be limiting after you craft some 24-slot bags (which also takes a few hours). Before that, it's frustrating for sure, but GW2 gives you every tool to quickly overcome this barrier without paying. I fully consider this another form of progression.

      Hell, just do the Living World Season 1 missions to get free 20-slot bags, then buy a few bag slots.

      You are very right! I didn't take into consideration you can exchange gold 🪙 I haven't tried the crafting yet maybe that's why I feel limited ahah I will dive more into crafting soon for sure 😊

      When you get living world season 4 (specifically sandswept isles) you can follow quest chains to get a 20 slot bag, and another to convert it into a 24, 28 then 32 slot bag (I think it was clear olmakhan bandolier or something similar, though I'm not 100% on the spelling)

      Really? I was an original Guild Wars fanatic but couldn't get on with GW2 played for a few weeks and quit, the game is in my wardrobe. May I ask, what has changed since your first attempt that has captured your attention this time around? and do you not feel like you are years behind the population? or have they somehow dealt with such issues?@@SorokoTTV

      It depends what you're looking for guilds for... WvW in the evening you can generally just shout out asking if there are any guilds recruiting and you'll likely get an invite. PvE asking in map chat at one of the big metas/world bosses (octovine, tequatl, RIBA(silverwastes), leyline anomaly, etc. may well get you an invite too, main thing is find a busy map or busy event and ask (on a world boss, probably best to ask before it spawns)

    How difficult would you say it is to get started with? Like, is it user / newbie friendly? I find that WoW, ESO and some other MMOs can be a little overwhelming when you first start, what was your experience?

    • @AgentJWF
      @AgentJWF 9 місяців тому +6

      Yes, it's pretty noob friendly, especially as you can level by just travelling the world.
      Understanding the endgame can be quite hard at times but joining a guild will solve that and can learn very quickly.

      I played GW2 and ESO since launch, and gw2's new player experience is the worst part about the game, especially when compared with ESO. My suggestion is to always consult the very comprehensive wiki. There's even a "/wiki "*link item here*" command you can type in the in-game chat to access the wiki easily. It's worth the learning experience!

    I don’t really want to interact with living people in an MMO because I have to get up and walk away from the computer all the time and that would piss people off.
    What I want is the game to fool me into thinking I’m interacting with real people because NPC’s don’t care if I walk away from their dialogue for five minutes while I’m feeding the cat.

    • @SorokoTTV
      @SorokoTTV  7 місяців тому

      I totally get the need for that kind of flexibility in a game. Guild Wars 2 might actually surprise you with its solo-friendly gameplay. The NPCs and the immersive world do a great job at giving you that 'multiplayer' feel without the pressure. Plus, the community is pretty understanding about real-life interruptions.

    gw2 is the perfect game and i played it for many years. the ONLY thing that prevents me from giving myself 100% in this game is the combat system. i really hate it. i'm not sure what it is. i like healing and buffing, and the way you do it in gw2 is just not enjoyable for me. TERA had the best combat in all mmos ive played, but gw2 has the best EVERYTHING else lol

    • @SorokoTTV
      @SorokoTTV  9 місяців тому +1

      I'm a healer in other MMOs so I totally get where you are coming from. When I understood that healing and buffing had more impact when players stack together, I started enjoying it more. I do wish that healing was different in this game, it's one of the caveat I can't get past either.

    @5:24 Pretty much like any MMO, don't you start off with 20 bag slot? I think WoW gives you 16 bag slots to start off. Then you can buy from the trading post (not item mall) for more bags. I think for free to play players, you can buy 3 more bags to expand your inventory.

    • @SorokoTTV
      @SorokoTTV  7 місяців тому

      Absolutely spot on! 🌟 In Guild Wars 2, you indeed start with 20 bag slots, a nifty beginning compared to WoW's 16. And yes, the trading post, not an item mall, is your go-to for bag expansions. For free players, those extra 3 bags can really open up your inventory space, making adventures all the smoother. Great insight! 🎒✨

    Bros talking about the story like it was actually good. It certainly could have been worse but it could have been better. Mostly just because the scripting and voice acting was fairly sub par across most of the cast and dialogue. The core story was decent. Just wasn't told incredibly well.
    Lack of adequate explanation of mechanics in fights was frustrating at times cuz clearly you needed to do something to even be able to damage a mob or boss but the game wasn't painfully clear on what that was. Navigation in some of the more congested zones was a pain in the ass without a waypoint system of any kind showing you how to get places. The game has a lot of potential but at this point it likely needs a complete overhaul in the form of "guild wars 3" to really address all of it.
