Hi Jeremy, interesting and highly instructive video about the functionalities of the PSR E keyboards 😎 Some remarks: 1) It could be useful to add the PSR EW 410 to the comparison (it has a better Live! Grand Piano voice, 76 keys instead of 61, a better amplification, more sampling areas on the keyboard, dedicated Line Out outputs, and it doesn’t run on batteries). 2) Another very useful function which the PSR EW410/E463 have but not the PSR E263/463 is the buttons to mute/unmute the tracks. You can use them to mute/unmute any of the 6 tracks of a song, a style or a groove/DJ pattern to add some variety to the music. For instance with a Jazz style, you will use only the drums track and the bass track, then slowly add some other instruments while you are playing to build up your music. 3) If you have an iPhone/iPod/iPad, you can download the Yamaha SoundController app and add both a Pitch-bend Wheel and a Modulation Wheel to the PSR E363/463 via the USB To Host connector (not possible with the PSR E263). 4) There is a huge difference across the whole range of E keyboards as far as the quality of the voices is concerned. PSR E263: no Sweet! or Cool! voices. PSR E363: 3 Cool! voices, 3 Dynamic! voices and 2 Sweet! voices. PSR E463: 3 Cool! voices, 3 Dynamic! voices and 8 Sweet! voices. EW410: same as PSR E463 but with the very nice Live! Grand Piano on top. 5) The PSR E463 can play MIDI files directly from an USB stick. The PSR E363 can play external MIDI files if they are uploaded to the internal Flash memory. The PSR E263 cannot play external MIDI files. 7) The PSR E363 and 463 can play a Dual and a Split voice, the PSR E263 can’t. 8) On top of the USB Audio Out, the PSR E363 and 463 also have USB Audio In. This means practically that you can connect your computer or iPad to your keyboard through the USB to Host connector and the digital audio from the computer or iPad will come out through the keyboard speakers. That way, you can use your keyboard as a MIDI controller to play any virtual synth and the sound will come out from the keyboard speakers. A very cool function. 9)The PSR E263/363 have the Ultra Wide Stereo effect, the PSR E463 doesn’t (but you can use the Pan effect instead). 10) You can actually use the Scale Tuning function of the PSR E463 to create your own scales, for instance to play more authentic Baroque music with correctly tuned scales, e.g. the Werckmeister or Kirnberger scales. Regards. 😊

Great review. The only thing you didnt cover was using this in a live music situation - ie going to an amplifier, Front of House direct, and monitoring
A comparison table would be a plus IMHO. Thanks for taking the time to summarize the differences. I would say that the PSR-E363 is the bare minimum to buy, mostly due to the key sensitivity function, which for me is a must on any keyboard

Great n informative video... I just bought a PSR E463.... I use to play keyboard in my school days... my last keyboard was Yamaha PSR 600 That i bought in 1994... I quit playing because of my busy work schedule and never played after 1999.. Now after 20 years and in Lockdown I retrieved my old passion... lets see how it goes...
Thanks for your time and informative videos, helped me decide what keyboard to get for Daughter to start learning, going with E363 should serve her well into transition to 88 key. Hopefully she will be as excited to start learning as I’m excited to watch her learn. Please post a video of better learning apps or tutorials you were talking about vs. Y.E.S system
I'm definitely going to purchase the e363. This video just turned my off of going for the cheaper e263. The e363 has more than what I need, and seems perfect as I will be heading off to college next fall and would like to take my keyboard with me to keep up and improve my piano skills without having to leave my dorm :)
You just saved me some money and time. I was going to wit "the cheapest." But, thanks to your no frills, higley informative explination, it would benifit me to go with "the middle" version. I'm a trumpet player who can read/play chord changes. Think I'll spend the extra coins and go with the 363.
Thankyou for this! I'm currently stuck between e3 and e4. I'm in budget of the e3, but thinking of spending additional for the e4. But because of this vid, I'll just stick to e3 since I'm not that much musician and i don't need those other additional features for now. I'm just a beginner and focusing on playing piano musics, so i think e3 is the best for me! Anyways, thanks for sharing this vid!
You are very knowledgable and helpful! Some constructive criticism: you repeat yourself sometimes more than necessary and you can shorten the full model names into 263, 363, 463. Also would be nice to have timestamps. I watched your beginniner keyboard video and afterwards found it hard to go back and compare again to see which one is best suited for what I want. Thanks again for posting! I really hope that doesn't come off the wrong way. You do good work man, cheers
Sir it is the best comparison video between psr e263, 363 and 463. Your voice is very clear and the data given by you to compare is the best.I am a beginner. I am still confused between psr e363 and 463. I want to buy a keyboard. Please suggest me. And again thanks for this type of videos.
Great no-nonsense and crisp comparison , really helpful to hit on the right keyboard in the E series , as per your proficiency level and your need. Keep it up
Thanks Jeremy, now I can decide clearly that the E463 has so much more features (got the t-shirt for the Y.E.S. system previous keyboard). Can't wait to get one!
Very useful & informative The video has a smooth flow and it’s very clear, great! I wanna get a sampling keyboard and the E463 is very appealing to me!
You can still use the PSR E263/E363 with an iPad with YAMAHA SOUND CONTROLLER bcoz this app adds pitch bend and modulation controller. You can switch between 1) portrait mode which has pitch bend and modulation wheel 2) landscape mode which has an XY controller. It also has an arpeggiator.
Very thorough review! Tx so much. I'm liking the 463 having USB output, 6 tracks to record a song and also the ability to incorporated externals sampling. Those are great features in addition to the arpeggiator that's found on all 3 models! We shall see....
Dear JS, *HATS OFF* to you for this video! Mannnnn...I guess, even YAMAHA's own marketing deptt. wont be able to create such an informative video by themselves! I am surfing all possible youtube videos nowadays, coz the *COVID-19* has brought ~whole world's rotation at a *~HALT!* And locked in home or work-place has led me to re-inject *LIFE* in my otherwise deadened passion of keyboard playing. Your *COMMAND* over this piece of ~most elec-tech gizmo is jaw-dropping. And your ~asian-accent is far more easily absorb-able than any native of UK or USA. Also, I would let you know that your *DECENT, CHARMING PERSONALITY/APPEARANCE* imparted as another force to attract someone, seeking real assistance regarding keyboards. I deeply appreciate your effort and hard work in this video. It would be a normal to you, but *DAMN SPECIAL & INFORMATIVE* to me and for people like me! Keep it up bro! As long as this video will stay on youtube, you will continue to receive appreciation, so DON'T FORGET to *REPLY* those who like *YOU & YOUR WORK* thru their comments! Also, I'd love to know where are you from, whether from Japan or _ _ _ _??? [Best wishes, *RUH, KHI PAK* ]
Great video, i am evaluating to buy one of those considering i'm looking for a beginner but that also can serve me as a grow in my knowledge. Also the I/O and customization possibilities are key as i like music more in the rock, metal, industrial and techno which are not the standard rhythms most people expect. With all that i think i will spend a little more and buy the 463
Again a very informative and interesting video. Every new video from you I learn something 👍 Would you please share some links where we can download some good styles ?
Fantomas🚀HiTech Hi, go and have a look at the PSR Tutorial website. If you become a member (which is totally free), you will be able to go to the « Styles » section and download as many styles as you wish. You can also ask on the Forum technical questions about your keyboard, and also ask other members about a particular style you are looking for (excepted Yamaha or third-parties commercial styles of course). Hope this helps.
Glad I watched this video before buying the psr-e263. I was only looking at it because it showed up when I specifically searched for touch-sensitive keyboards. Thought a TS keyboard for that price was to good to be true, and I was right :/ THIS is why you always need to thoroughly check the spec lists
Thanks, I just bought the 363 for $53, no shipping charge. I was looking around the internet, The 363 was $200. So i took that $53 deal. Its probably going to show up used in bad shape. But i will have to see when it shows up. I went looking for a P45, but they are not low enough in price for me. I am just wanting something to learn on for now, that sounds good. So i am thinking the 363 will fit me.
Sounded like you said adding a sustain pedal not even possible on PSR-463? In other videos, even of yours, it's clear it does have a sustain pedal (which has to be bought separately). Anyway, threw me for a loop.
Personally, I am looking to play organ. After doing more research, I found that the E263 has a whopping *28* different organ voices! It's a bit disappointing finding that it has no touch sensitivity and less polyphony, but I'm glad the Y.E.S. feature is there, and most of the musical production features shouldn't really matter to me, as I'm just learning the ropes. I also recently found an E263 bundle that comes with the keyboard, power supply, a stand and headphones for only $149.99 USD! And I would expect the higher-tier properties, such as quick-sampling, pitch-bend wheels and USB thumb drive-output to be exclusive to the higher-end E463, but as a result it lacks the Y.E.S. feature. This shows that, along with the price, the E463 is for 61-key keyboard musicians who very much know what they are doing ahead of time. Thank you so much for all of your great work, Jeremy! I look forward to picking up my E263 bundle very soon!
High Jeremy, this is the video I was expecting for deciding which keyboard to buy. Thank you very much. I have a little question for you, I'm about to buy an old Yamaha PSS-680 synthesizer, I'd like to know, which model in the market right now is similar to this old yamaha model?
Hey guys, I want to know you opinion about something. I want to learn to play piano, I dont know nothing, I just love it, I am between the e263 and the e363, the biggest difference I see is the Key sensivity. I know the second one is the best option but is it worthwhile to invest more money on it? Please remmember I am a totally noob :p
Thanks for watching. Do subscribe and give the videos a thumbs up if you have not done so. If you are a beginner, touch sensitive keys will help you to eventually develop how hard or soft your press the keys. That's an important part of learning.
Don't need the YES system, just go to hdpiano.com and learn from the best. This was a VERY good review and very detailed, Jeremy you were amazing!, In my opinion the E463 is the best for everyone in this series from people that no nothing about playing a keyboard but want to learn to those who know a few things. As a beginner you don't need to use every function on the E463, but once you progress and learn even more, you have the options right there to help you along even further in your learning, you don't have to go buy another keyboard because you out grew the E263 or E363 and want more features. I understand budgets are tight but if you have to buy multiple keyboards as you progress through learning instead of just saving and getting that one that will be with you through your progression of learning than your paying a lot more in the long run.
Please make video same for Yamaha psr I 455, i500, Casio ctk 9000, Roland EX30....it will great help for beginners..for under stand functions and buying decision

Nice video !!! E463 The king of all PSR series :)
Psr sx900 : am i joke to you?
You mean king of all "E" psr series
very good video. I like the way things are explained
Thanks! Very helpful information!
Great Video, thanks, very informative. 463 has it all and perfect to grow into.
Great video, i am evaluating to buy one of those considering i'm looking for a beginner but that also can serve me as a grow in my knowledge. Also the I/O and customization possibilities are key as i like music more in the rock, metal, industrial and techno which are not the standard rhythms most people expect. With all that i think i will spend a little more and buy the 463
One of the best, to the point video 👍👍
superb you explain best and simpler
Thanks for watching. Do give the videos a thumbs up and subscribe if you have not done so.
Again a very informative and interesting video.
Every new video from you I learn something 👍
Would you please share some links where we can download some good styles ?
Fantomas🚀HiTech Hi, go and have a look at the PSR Tutorial website. If you become a member (which is totally free), you will be able to go to the « Styles » section and download as many styles as you wish. You can also ask on the Forum technical questions about your keyboard, and also ask other members about a particular style you are looking for (excepted Yamaha or third-parties commercial styles of course). Hope this helps.
Glad I watched this video before buying the psr-e263. I was only looking at it because it showed up when I specifically searched for touch-sensitive keyboards. Thought a TS keyboard for that price was to good to be true, and I was right :/
THIS is why you always need to thoroughly check the spec lists
I'm happy to help
New subscriber from India ✌️
Thank you! This was very helpful information.
Great info! Well done! Thanks a lot!
Excellent, comprehensive information
Thank you for such an amazing info!!!
Well, I hope you know what you're talking about because I know absolutely nothing about keyboards and just ordered an e363 to learn on.
You will be happy with it as a beginner.
Very detailed review thsnks
Thanks, I just bought the 363 for $53, no shipping charge.
I was looking around the internet, The 363 was $200.
So i took that $53 deal.
Its probably going to show up used in bad shape. But i will have to see when it shows up.
I went looking for a P45, but they are not low enough in price for me.
I am just wanting something to learn on for now, that sounds good.
So i am thinking the 363 will fit me.
How is it working?
Try to stretch your budget a tiny bit more for E363
High Jeremy, this is the video I was expecting for deciding which keyboard to buy. Thank you very much. I have a little question for you, I'm about to buy an old Yamaha PSS-680 synthesizer, I'd like to know, which model in the market right now is similar to this old yamaha model?
Thank you for your very informative comparison.
I'm happy to share
Plzz make a review of psri400 and how to use all functions
Very helpful. And you followed-up re the chords dictionary function not being included on the E463. Thank You, Thank You.
excellent review! thnnks
Thank you very much for the answer.
Very exceptional review Jeremy. Appreciate you!
Thanks buddy.
HII thanks for the video, is it possible to use the E463 as a midi controller with DAW to control virtual instruments
Super helpful. Thanks!!!
E463: can you record music that you play on the keyboard as midi? If yes, how?
How I set volume stay same value for any voice of Yamaha Keyboard PSR-E 463? please show me. Thanks
Please make video same for Yamaha psr I 455, i500, Casio ctk 9000, Roland EX30....it will great help for beginners..for under stand functions and buying decision
Hi Jeremy, is E463 recommended for beginners or the other two?
