I am sorry to say this, you are confusing me a lot with your review videos😢 in one video you said don't consider less number of keys like 77 or 61 when buying piano and in this video you are giving reviews on less number of key pianos which leading to lots of confusion and chaos 😢

All that being said, your video was music to my research ears, filled with valuable, practical and helpful information. I have always wanted to play an instrument, even as a child, but we could not afford it. Now I am 70 years young, and hope to begin a new chapter in my life, filled with music...that I can play! Thank you so very much, Jeremy!

One of my favorite electric pianos is the Casio LK-165. Although it isn't touch sensitive, in exchange it has 110 songs in the song bank, 150 rhythms, AND 414 DIFFERENT PIANO SOUNDS! Each sound sounding very realistic. Plus it also can teach you how to play the piano. I got it for about $100 bucks which is also very cheap. The only downside is that it doesn't come with the sustain petal. If your tacky like me, you can just stick a piece of foil in the sustain port.
Thanks for this video Jeremy. I have enrolled my daughter to a weekly piano class. I want to gift her a keyboard for her birthday which is in two weeks. With the help of your video, I've chosen ctk3500. Yamaha e363 would have been nicer but it has almost a 300 ringgit difference here in Malaysia. Ordered the Casio online for 800ringgit (200usd) complete with stand, bench, sustain pedal, dust cover, and carry bag.
Thank you Jeremy, I have conquered a lot of bad habits lately and wanted to learn how to play an instrument as a positive outlet and after watching your videos I have decided the keyboard/piano is what I would like to learn. I ordered a Yamaha psr 363, thank you for all your informative videos!! Keep doing what you do!
I personally have the yamaha np 12 (thanks to you) and I'm in love with it. It actually has semi weighted keys and like you said if you just need simple stuff the yamaha np 12 is perfect for you, it rlly is perfect for me
What are your thoughts about keyboards for Christmas 2020? We were looking at Yamaha MX88 a few years ago and you turned me on to the Casio CT-X5000 because of the voices, accompaniment style, mic input (to play guitar through speakers) and USB Midi output. But I'd like to stay under $300 and get playing this year even if we have to upgrade in a few years. What do you suggest, Yamaha PSR-373, Casio CT-X700 or another? Thanks for the awesome reviews, I learn so much from your videos!
Best keyboard is one that suits your needs, that includes finances and expectations of progression. If you haven't the finances and do not wish to progress to Chopin etc a 61 key keyboard will more than adequately suffice, do not necessarily require 88.
@@eliana7646 I really like the keyboard. It's a little harder to figure out the bells and whistles but a nice keyboard for $199. I like the sound, all the styles and voices, the music database, the songs, and the lessons. I ordered mine from B&H Photo online and they were fantastic. I highly recommend the keyboard.

I’ve been wanting to learn to play the keyboard for years... I finally decided to learn, thanks to this video I ended up picking up a barely used Yamaha PSR-E363 for super cheap!!
I got EW300 and Im so happy. I bought it on a whim, couldn't play any instruments before. Im so happy. Im learning songs from youtube. For now I can play Wheres my Mind (Pixies), Gymnpedie 1(Satie), Gnossiens 1 (Satie) and some videogame songs.
Whew! Sorry I'm late! I just picked up a used Yamaha Psr-e213 for $65....no power adapter. This was originally a $200 range keyboard with most of the functions he mentions here. I've been playing guitar for almost 40 years now and just wanted something to noodle and record with. This is perfect for my needs. One point that really needs to be mentioned. Electronic keyboards simply do not hold their value, unlike most guitars. Buying a used guitar is far more complicated than buying used keyboards. Point being is that you can find perfectly fine used keyboards for a fraction of their original price.
I love the CTK-6250, Though it's quite heavy and needs a decent Tough Keyboard Bagpack... but the features are really worth the price.... Plus the actual looks (Deym that Red Crimson Plating) ...My Bassist and Drummer friend.... Jams with me on this one if they don't have their instruments with them due to portability and fun... Battery varies from usage... but from experience, We were able to play and rehearse straight 5hours without ever plugging. .........The only problem I see on this unit is it's sensitivity from slight bumps... everytime I pack this up.. there are instances where I bump on things (Doors, Tables, Knobs) due its Size and dimension (Specially if you're a small guy). But for Sound and Actual Music Recording capability? You can greatly depend on this one..... I would rate this as an Intermediate Level Keyboard... You can download the full manual online... User Interface can be overwhelming in the beginning but can be easily familiarize within a month of full dive. (Sound Board Chip under the keys are very sensitive, so please avoid spilling water on this one or putting slight heavy things above the unit when storing) (already had this repaired for all the last octave C keys, it broke after 3 years of mishandling + the bumps as said) Luckily the repair was a success, and the unit is still looking great as new.
Thanks for taking the time to create this video. I found it to be quite helpful. I've always wanted to learn and play the piano. Not personally interested in all the bells and whistles. The simpler the better. I can always upgrade in the future if I decide to. Right now, I have all the time in the world to practice. This is my intention. Fur Elise, here I come. I subbed (To help prepare myself, I bought some "exercise stretch bands" and use them to stretch and strengthen my semi-arthritic fingers.) The news media keeps shoving "difficult and uncertain times" down our throats. As far as I'm concerned, it's time to buy a piano!
I bought a Casio Ctk 6250 just for a practice piano ,but its so full of features and 17 track sequencer because one track is for accompaniments and arpeggiators ,and 16 for instruments. Its an absolute bargain for the price ,looks great too.i would recommend it for anyone wanting to make full tracks with editing options quantise copy paste step recording ,sound editing etc ,you can do more with the casio than just play along to accompaniments, and the sounds are good too it even has master EQ settings,i always put the bright master eq setting on the keyboard it makes the sounds a lot cleaner.Nice review .
first of all,the Yamaha Psr e363 is in my church and the keys are very easy to press.sometimes when you are trying to set the volume you always hit a bass key.and before we had a Yamaha PortableGrand dgx 305 which the keys fell very good.and you might be questioning why its not being used.well it broke and now it works but the screen is just staying blue and you cant see anything on it.but overall its a good and cheap begginer keyboard(also we use 21 theater organ and it sounds like something glory?)
Just a small correction based on my research, the np12 does not offer split mode. There is no mention of a split mode in the manual or in yamaha's promotional videos of the keyboard. If anyone has this keyboard and knows otherwise please comment below.
Thanks for the excellent video. Keyboards in this price range are the main target for beginning students, so this is a valuable review for them. I was especially pleased to see that, at the end you didn't just decide that one of them was 'THE BEST KEYBOARD FOR BEGINNERS!!!!', and instead described how each keyboard would suit different students' needs and desires. That's excellent advice, because we're talking about preferences. Any beginner can learn to play on any of these keyboards. None of these keyboards will prevent a beginner from learning, but some will be better liked by some students, which is something that may encourage beginners to keep going. I wanted a really good grand piano sound, but lots of other voices (I've found I practice more when I can switch to piano, organ, harpsichord, guitar, brass, strings, etc.), so I got the CT-X700. I don't think layering voices is anything that I'm going to miss. By the time I start thinking about that, I'll probably be thinking about an 88 key keyboard. Thanks again for the video.
I really felt like I needed a good portable keyboard that i could also create with. I only had $200, and I wanted the best keyboard I could really get the bang for my bucks. I wavered and hemmed+hawed. Based on this video, I chose the Casio CTK 6250. Thank you for helping me decide! 😎
I performed with orchestras in Vegas not as a musician, sometimes a singer. I'm wondering what could I start with as a beginner that has an input for a mic and a good quality sound, education, recording and Bluetooth on a budget, woohoo. capabilities?)
A wonderful 61 Key Keyboard controller that costs $180 on Amazon, $200 on other online merchants, is the M-AUDIO KEYSTATION 61 MK3. Just got it a couple of days ago. It is a narrow keyboard, no pads, drums etc. But the keyboard feel is superb; I am so fussy about keyboard feel, having only used an acoustic piano all these years; this is my first keyboard controller. The semi-weighted keys have just the right weight and flow. The keyboard is a bit heavier than it looks because of the semi-weighted keys. I found the hard way that my McAfee antivirus was blocking the MIDI connection which was fine after I uninstalled McAfee (with tech guidance from M-Audio). But all told, I am very pleased with this keyboard; excellent engineering, finish and quality. These days music stores don't allow anyone in because of the Covid-19 crisis and I am so glad I don't have to return this one to try another one like either Novation or Native Instruments. Those were the only alternatives that I considered after reading review after review on places like Sweetwater, Amazon etc. The M-Audio 61 comes with one piano sound (VST) which is decent. I use Cakewalk now for recording, and Flowkey to learn piano further.
for my little sons (6 / 5) I cannot decide wether to chose the ez220 or the e373. It is just to know: are the lighted keys better / more motivating for learning or should I go for the better sound and more features...?
Hey Jeremy I'm so glad I found your channel (only after I left Singapore :(....) I decided to pick up the piano again and ended up with a used Casio and I am loving it. Thanks for all the advice!
Thankyou!!! I was about to buy the yamaha PSR F51 but decided to last minute check some UA-cam videos and found your channel. I've decided to buy the np 12 instead- thankyou for your help!
Hi Jeremy! I'm a beginner and i want to buy a keyboard that I want to sound like a regular piano. What to buy Yamaha NP12 or Yamaha PSR-363? Which has the best sound? :)
My 14 year old daughter has never played any instruments other than the piano key type apps on her tablet or phone. She really wants a keyboard for Christmas, I have no idea where to start looking as I want to make sure I get her one thats: A: Not to expensive, definitely under $200 as I'm not convinced she really will put the amount of work to learn how to play. And if she shows real interest I will consider a more professional one. B: One that has the most important features like those mentioned such as being able to record songs, play music from her tablet, and be a good overall budget friendly but quality keyboard. If you have any suggestion or advice I could really use it, i have no clue what specific features i should be looking out for and only know of casio, yamaha, keyboards really. Thank you your advice means alot.
Dear Sir, thanks a lot for your recommendation! My PSR e363 is on the way. Your suggestion needed : A good headphone, which will give exact sound and won't enhance base etc. without my asking it to. I am looking at Yamaha ones. What's your take on HPH50 and HPH100. Some companies give 50 mm diaphragm at this price. What's your take. I would love that Yamaha brand sticker! Your suggestion please. Thanks again!
Jeremy I'm a beginner who does't know anything about pianos. which piano do u think would be best, i don't need anything special that makes those fun effects or making songs. i just want a simple easy to use one. Thanks
Thanks to your video n review, I bought a yamaha psr e363.. Hold this leanring journey will be good unlike the guitar which I think my finger can't press properly
This is a longshot, but hey, are you there ? Can you respond to this question ? Should I order the PSS-A50 or PSR-E273 ? Or some other Casio keyboard ? I have a budget of 100 dollars. I am traveling at the moment, a percussion played for 10 years, looking to learn the keyboard.
I'm going to just go ahead and say what we all want to say to you. We need you to make a channel where we can just listen to you play. To be honest, I already made up my mind on what keyboard to get based on your reviews, but I keep listening to hear you play! 😂
Very helpful video! Now I have to decide, do I get a small, potrable Yamaha PSS A50, or do I spend a bit more and get one of those... Also, lack of Polish? Dzień dobry. Hope that suffices ;)
Which one is better: ez or psr? I could buy Ez 220 or PRS E353 or psr 350 or psr 170...there are so many PSR second hand... which one appeared first: ez or psr?
I want to buy a fairly used casio LK 265, I have never played the keyboard but want to start with this one. Do you advise me to go for? Is it a good keyboard?
Hello Jeremy. I want a keyboard for my 3 year old son. There is one Casio CTK-6250 that someone is selling, but I heard your comment about not having the most updated chip, so what is the impact of that in the sound or functionalities of the keyboard in practical terms? Thanks in advance for your response.
I’m interested in learning how to play the piano and this was extremely helpful! I do have a question: I’ve seen other videos about the importance of having an 88-key keyboard, is that true?
I'm interested in purchasing a keyboard / workstation that can do multitrack recording and can also sample external sounds to be played on the keys. Ideally I'd like to export the finished product to a usb or sd card. Based on those parameters, which keyboard, synth, workstation would you recommend?
I have the option to buy the yamaha psr e273 But a friend recommended the medeli ik or mk 100. I'm not sure what to buy, it would be really helpful for your opinion.😅
I have never played music in my life im planning buy a keyboard but would having less recording slots be a problem? Also how soundchips effects the music quality?
My friend has CTK-6250 and I have E363. Both are kinda great for their price, but I would prefer Yamaha from these 2. Yamaha sounds better and more pleasant for ear, with more friendly interface. CASIO has more interesting tunings for your sound and more recording options, but it takes time to handle the interface, and as I said, I like Yamaha sound more (which is what more important to me personally, rather than ability for deeper sound tuning).
I think you need to re-evaluate how you use UA-cam's in-video chapter function, having a chapter for each product would be ideal but instead, it's sorted by whenever you change topics, which makes this really hard to find what I'm looking for in the video
All the extra stuff on keyboards is too much if you only want piano sound. I want piano not organ and synthesizer etc. I’m not pro but I can play songs and make my own music I have a piano and keyboard. It’s for my own enjoyment. I want to learn more and improve my playing skill. Thank you Jeremy for all you do. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
me too i m 25 years old this years and i love music from young till now i couldn't buy any piano when i m young now i wanna start to learn n play piano, my house doesn't have a big space for piano, grandpiano etc so i plan to get keyboard instead.. i have totally no music experience and thanks for the info .. can i request on a keyboard review on Brand : medeli Models: M361? i just bough it few day ago and i wanna know what are the benefit and function on this keyboard, and what is the disadvantage
I want to learn play keyboard, but I really like the sound of The Doors. What keyboard should i get which has the closest sound as the original vox continential but is also a great beginner keyboard?
Very useful video, I've got a much better idea of what I want now. Although, I'd probably be useful to tell us the currency you're using. I live in Canada and Right now the first and second keyboards are at more than 800$ CAD on Amazon. CAD and USD are a bit close to each other so this big difference was surprising
Companies should create keyboard with just PIANO Sound. Since most people purchase expensive keyboard just for Piano Sound and not for Dancing hip hop music. Hope they will bring out a budget Keyboard with just PIANO Sound.
Thanks once again, it's was amazed to me again ! :) Last month, from zero, I surf many information to seek the right piano for my children. Finally, I bought the Casio CDP-S350 // of course, by your reviews as majority valued telling. After that, I saw Casiotone the new 2019 series and wish to get CT-S300. But .. as I used to mention to you about the price in Thailand, so now I head to the used CTK-3500 which about 156~172 USD without warranty (the new one is about 243~280 USD). I'll take it within this weekend and you just release this valued video clip to me before I get it !! (Synchronize frequency ?!) Thank you so much :) p.s For new Yamaha PSR-E363 is about 375 USD. Any opinion/suggestion are very welcome, thanks in advance.
Excellent Jeremy. I had just ordered the 6250 the other day and after seeing your review feel very happy with my choice (a couple extra pounds and D batterys mean nothing to me). Great Video......

Its an absolute bargain for the price ,looks great too.i would recommend it for anyone wanting to make full tracks with editing options quantise copy paste step recording ,sound editing etc ,you can do more with the casio than just play along to accompaniments, and the sounds are good too it even has master EQ settings,i always put the bright master eq setting on the keyboard it makes the sounds a lot cleaner.Nice review .
lighted keyboard
Which do you prefer
Yamaha EZ-220
Casio LK-265
Casio LK-S250
John Bencomo so did he ever answer this good question?
first of all,the Yamaha Psr e363 is in my church and the keys are very easy to press.sometimes when you are trying to set the volume you always hit a bass key.and before we had a Yamaha PortableGrand dgx 305 which the keys fell very good.and you might be questioning why its not being used.well it broke and now it works but the screen is just staying blue and you cant see anything on it.but overall its a good and cheap begginer keyboard(also we use 21 theater organ and it sounds like something glory?)
Just a small correction based on my research, the np12 does not offer split mode. There is no mention of a split mode in the manual or in yamaha's promotional videos of the keyboard. If anyone has this keyboard and knows otherwise please comment below.
This information has been corrected in my latest video ua-cam.com/video/nD8kJzdOTZI/v-deo.html
Thank you for sharing your experiences. 😊

Is it good?
When I seen this I froze bc I was thinking in my head not out loud that I need a new cheap keyboard that good and I get on UA-cam and see this...
What is the difference between a lets say $200 keyboard and a $400? What features are you getting usually, quality control? Etc.
Quarantine got me inspired to start piano lol
I performed with orchestras in Vegas not as a musician, sometimes a singer.
I'm wondering what could I start with as a beginner that has an input for a mic and a good quality sound, education, recording and Bluetooth on a budget, woohoo. capabilities?)
I just love your videos, for a beginner like me who knew nothing about pianos,i learned everything watching your videos
Thanks man 👊🏼
A wonderful 61 Key Keyboard controller that costs $180 on Amazon, $200 on other online merchants, is the M-AUDIO KEYSTATION 61 MK3.
I'm planning to buy this too and it will be my 1st midi controller. so I just need my laptop? I also just downloaded cakewalk
Can I start my piano journey on a Keyboard till I have enough budget to get a full sized digital piano?
Not only about piano but u can literally start getting into music with anything u have. So yes obviously.
for my little sons (6 / 5) I cannot decide wether to chose the ez220 or the e373. It is just to know: are the lighted keys better / more motivating for learning or should I go for the better sound and more features...?
what is the cheapest keyboard with weighted keys you can get?
I'm on the hunt for a beginner keyboard, so this is exactly what I needed. Thanks man! Since you asked, I SMASHED that like button for you.
Great choice! Learn more here ua-cam.com/video/BwJulJvCBRo/v-deo.html
I am so confused between the yamaha PSR-E363 and Casio CTX-700 I need help
Ctx
Same here been debating with this two
Ctx 700 sound better but the touch on the yamaha is dynamic better.
thank you I was just getting into Piano Keyboards and this really helped
Hi Jeremy! I'm a beginner and i want to buy a keyboard that I want to sound like a regular piano. What to buy Yamaha NP12 or Yamaha PSR-363?
Which has the best sound? :)
What should I be looking out for while checking out a keyboard in the store?
My 14 year old daughter has never played any instruments other than the piano key type apps on her tablet or phone. She really wants a keyboard for Christmas, I have no idea where to start looking as I want to make sure I get her one thats:
A: Not to expensive, definitely under $200 as I'm not convinced she really will put the amount of work to learn how to play.

Casio CTS 300 or Yamaha e363? which one is better as a beginner keyboard?
E363 has step guide to teach t
You to progress your result
This is a longshot, but hey, are you there ? Can you respond to this question ?
Should I order the PSS-A50 or PSR-E273 ? Or some other Casio keyboard ? I have a budget of 100 dollars.
I am traveling at the moment, a percussion played for 10 years, looking to learn the keyboard.
I'll go for ctx-700. .very nice stage piano sound..closer to the real piano sound..
I'm going to just go ahead and say what we all want to say to you. We need you to make a channel where we can just listen to you play. To be honest, I already made up my mind on what keyboard to get based on your reviews, but I keep listening to hear you play! 😂
which 1 do you think is best out of them all?
Thank you I've been waiting for this video. Now I'm pretty sure I'll be choosing Yamaha PSR E-363 over Casio CTK3500. :-)
I'm happy to help.
I have several keyboards that I am happy with but I appreciate you’re review of this list. I enjoy keeping up with the market.
Thanks buddy.
Which ones do you have?
Jeremy, I'm a self-taught 5th level, but I'd like touch sensitivity.Which do U recommend: the Casio WK-110 ($88 used) or the Casio LK-58 ($55 used)?
Which ones have a synthesizer because i love to play jump by van halen?
The e363 is actually really awesome. Thx man
I'm happy to help buddy.
I’m interested in learning how to play the piano and this was extremely helpful!
I do have a question: I’ve seen other videos about the importance of having an 88-key keyboard, is that true?
You need to know your objectives ua-cam.com/video/BwJulJvCBRo/v-deo.html
I'm interested in purchasing a keyboard / workstation that can do multitrack recording and can also sample external sounds to be played on the keys. Ideally I'd like to export the finished product to a usb or sd card. Based on those parameters, which keyboard, synth, workstation would you recommend?
I want to ask is rock jam keyboard is good for beginners
Confused between yamaha PSR-E363, Casio CT-X700 and casio C-TK 3500
Me too. i confused btw e363 and ctk3500 :(
Finally bought Yamaha E 363
@@abhijeetgauravimt Is it as good as the video made it out to be?
For me...i really don't need a lot of additional sounds...I only care about it's sound quality and it's touch response quality...and also volume
I have the option to buy the yamaha psr e273
But a friend recommended the medeli ik or mk 100.
I'm not sure what to buy, it would be really helpful for your opinion.😅
I have never played music in my life im planning buy a keyboard but would having less recording slots be a problem? Also how soundchips effects the music quality?
Which one is best for 90s hip hop
sir grand piano voice is better in which keyboard. Yamaha psre463 or casio ctx3000. fan from india
I think that yamaha psr e 363 is the best... I bought it 3 month ago and I'm just loving it
My friend has CTK-6250 and I have E363.
When you say touch sensitive does that mean fully weighted or semi weighted?
Touch sensitive is not related to key weight. Keys which are not touch sensitive sound the same volume no matter how hard you hit the keys.

Tnx man ... i wanted to find a nice synth for a 8year old and your video helped a lot
Thanks for the awesome video! I got a hand me down keyboard from a cousin but I wanted to buy my own keyboard. Your video was definitely helpful!
How can I set my Technics KN1000 to piano mode??
Hi jeremy, can i use my laptop and connect it with my 120 dollar digital piano and change it sound to professional?
What piano is good for beginner as well as for intermediate piano players?
I think you need to re-evaluate how you use UA-cam's in-video chapter function, having a chapter for each product would be ideal but instead, it's sorted by whenever you change topics, which makes this really hard to find what I'm looking for in the video
I got a used ctk-2500 for $75! i got a free stand and all of its in great condition!
me too i m 25 years old this years and i love music from young till now i couldn't buy any piano when i m young now i wanna start to learn n play piano, my house doesn't have a big space for piano, grandpiano etc so i plan to get keyboard instead.. i have totally no music experience and thanks for the info .. can i request on a keyboard review on
Brand : medeli
Models: M361?

Already bought CTK-3500
How is it?
폐물*TRASH* good I have it too it’s touch sensitive
I want to learn play keyboard, but I really like the sound of The Doors. What keyboard should i get which has the closest sound as the original vox continential but is also a great beginner keyboard?
I was looking for completely different type of keyboard
Very useful video, I've got a much better idea of what I want now. Although, I'd probably be useful to tell us the currency you're using. I live in Canada and Right now the first and second keyboards are at more than 800$ CAD on Amazon. CAD and USD are a bit close to each other so this big difference was surprising
Whether these keyboard can play with electricity?
Companies should create keyboard with just PIANO Sound. Since most people purchase expensive keyboard just for Piano Sound and not for Dancing hip hop music. Hope they will bring out a budget Keyboard with just PIANO Sound.
Thanks once again, it's was amazed to me again ! :)
Last month, from zero, I surf many information to seek the right piano for my children.
(Synchronize frequency ?!)
Thank you so much :)
p.s For new Yamaha PSR-E363 is about 375 USD.
Any opinion/suggestion are very welcome, thanks in advance.
Excellent Jeremy. I had just ordered the 6250 the other day and after seeing your review feel very happy with my choice (a couple extra pounds and D batterys mean nothing to me). Great Video......
