I own a Lariat and find it a very nice driving vehicle. Something often missed by salesman are the rain sensing wipers found on the Lariat. They are really handy and work great. Depending on how hard it’s raining the wipers adjust automatically wiping faster or slower.
I bought one Ford Ranger in my life, so far. It was brand new in 1994, and it cost me about $11.5K. It was a single cab, manual transmission, manual windows, no air conditioning. The one I want now costs $45K. Haha.
You forgot to mention that the Lariat has a push to start and the XLT you turn it on with a key. But over all you did a great job keep up the hard work.
@@Oakleyworld That's a good point too. I had an F-150 before I bought the Ranger and it was a color Ford called magnetic metallic and that color was nice because it didn't show dirt or dust.
I have a 2021XLT SPORT it’s a nice little ride. If you shop around most dealerships have XLT‘s with nice add-ons that get it close to lariat spec without leather at around 35k. The xlt sport package is a great option if you don’t plan to heavy off-road and still has amazing ground clearance. You have to decide what you can live without some of the features I didn’t really need and saved me about 8k. I really wouldn’t spend more than that on this truck otherwise go with a full-size F150 the mpg isn’t that much different.
Something you never said in this video that both of these Ford Rangers being that they have FX4 package they come equipped with a locking rear differential
It's important to keep in mind not all the Lariats have the B&O 10-speaker audio system (4 regular speakers, 4 tweeters and 2 subwoofers, plus amp). The trim levels below Lariat have 6-speakers and no external amp.
Yeah it’s part of 501a. I bought a lariat with the B&O system and couldn’t be happier, sounds really nice with a decent amount of bass. Never had a truck that sounded this good 😄😄😄
Was not impressed with the system when test driving one. Ended up installing a shallow mount 10 behind the seats in my XLT. Have plans this summer to replace the door speakers and add 2 tweeters.
You only need the FX4 package if you are doing off-road a lot. Add the Sport package or the 302A package to the XLT and you get all that black trim as well as 8 way power passenger seat and some other features as well.
@@davidklimmek3192 I would definitely have one installed, I loved that in all my Nissan trucks, the sliding back window is good, but there is nothing life the sunroof
Serious question. I’m looking to buy a new vehicle. It will be used every day to do deliveries putting in around 40 miles on freeway and 60 miles doing frequent stops, equaling about 100 every single day. Deliveries are no hauling or nothing heavy. Kinda like food delivery. Today. April 2021. F-150 XLT or Ranger XLT? Which one to buy and why? Thanks.
I cannot speak from a Ford perspective but I can speak from the Chevy perspective of Silverado and Colorado. If I was doing driving like that which didn't require heavy hauling but a fair amount of highway I would 100% choose the smaller truck. The only problem with this logic is the fact that you can ALMOST get a Silverado with just as many features as the Colorado for about the same money especially if you could get away with a 2WD Silverado. This is a dilemma that I think a lot of people face when comparing Midsize to Fullsize. At the dealer I work at we have a couple left over 2020 Silverado LT's (One 2WD and two 4WD Z71's) that are demo's so when all the discounts are added up could very well be priced right around the cost of a Colorado Z71.
I was pretty interested in a new Ranger til I came to the fuel tank size. Can't find a larger replacement fuel tank for the truck either, Towing a travel trailer 18 gal tank is not enough. 23 would be ok. Dobinson makes some awesome aftermarket HD rear leaf spring for the new Ranger, they add up to 880 lb extra capacity over oem rear springs.
Hey man I’m about to get my first truck and these 2 were my options. Your video was the most helpful. I had a question... which truck would you prefer because it’s a solid price difference, I really wanted leather seats but if that’s pretty much the biggest difference I might just get the STX. Thank you
Well I am not an expert on Ford vehicles but after taking a quick look on the website there are a few differences other than leather seats. It looks like the LED headlights, rain sensing wipers, body color pieces on the outside, leather seats, and sound system are going to be most the differences. Ford has a good comparison tool on their website actually where you can view the differences only. If you can live without all those things then the XLT might be the best option.
Justin Kelly ! Thanks for the reply man! Okay so I was looking a lot into the XLT and it might just be my pick, I’m thinking about buying the truck instead of Leasing, and for that reason I’m able to be able to upgrade my truck so I think I’m going with the XLT. The Lariat looks very nice and looks more of Beefy truck. But anyway I think the XLT will be my choice. Thank you for you help buddy!
Justin Kelly I don’t think it is. I think the digital cluster from the fusion is only available on the lariat. Honestly with the current rebates it’s worth getting the lariat over the xlt. I see them at my local dealerships going as low as 32k and 34k with the fx4 package/sport.
Such as remote start, the keyless sytem allows you too monitor and start your truck and change settings, heat, a/c put windows up or down check fuel level basically anything that you can do inside the truck you can do from your cell phone.

Love my 2020ranger XLT fx4 but.... 250hps at the tires and about 275ish torque I should be able to roast the tires on take off my 97 f150 had maybe 200hp and it could but I will say for being a 4cylinder it does have go after about 1000 -1500rpms it will brake the tires loss but it takes a bit of playing with brake and gas🤕
Nice truck but I actually did not buy one because that rear seat does not fall down. I cannot tell you how many times I needed to put things in the back of my truck because it was raining or I did not want to get banged up in the bed. Epic fail. Nice truck though they just need to fix that.

I bought a sport model, for what I do I really couldn't justify the cost difference in getting a 4x4 or the Lariat. I love it!

I think the largest mid size truck fuel tank is in the Jeep Gladiator at 22 gallons. It is too bad because 18 is very small for this type of vehicle.
