Trangier have been around for years as a result in the last couple of years there’s been an explosion in the idea of getting out in the wild to experience a different type of adventure holiday and there has been a flood of copies of all types of stoves alcohol burners barbecue burners it’s great to see somebody like you demonstrating them thanks very much Dan

Got the same stove. Bought it two years ago. Found it a little slower to bloom than the Trangia but once going nothing between them. I carry mine filled with fuel and it’s never leaked out. Good stove.

I bought one as a back up stove. love it .Its only when you compare it to trangia when you see the burn difference but for money you cant complain .And you get a stand.

I have this same stove and made 3 mods first thing.
    1) The 3 clips on stand need to be bent in to "lock" into indentations on fuel bowl.
    2) Used woven fiberglass stove gasket seal to coil 2 layers inside burner pot (2/3 rds) way up with end tucked down center. 1" clearance from top
    3) Adjustable cover has weak atachment known to break easy. Used a 4 mil. Screw rivit from leather working kit w/ screw on bottom to clear cover. Fits without drilling out.
Seems to work perfect now, plan to pick up a few more.

Thanks for this. I bought one a few weeks ago. You've shown me a better way to use the stand. Mine had a little metal handle on the adjustable top bit - looks like yours is missing. I find the handle real handy. I like this stove. Will probably get another, so I have one ready to go in each of my cooking systems (and then won't forget to bring it!!!)

If you want a better burn rest the stove on the bottom of the stand it gives it a better length to get more efficient burn. Jut bend he tabs with pliers and it will rest secure in the bottom and knocks minutes off the burn time and saves fuel. The most efficient with these is between 1.1/4 inch and 1.1/2 inch between the pot and the stove itself.....Have you got a link for where you got it from mate? I want one of these with the wick I have the earlier models that are the same but lighter without the internal wick cloth

Mate really enjoy your videos o bought this last weekend to go out with my daughter like you say funds can be an issue so the price is good. It worked a treat for me boiling water for hotdogs and boiling water for hot chocolate using a very large billie can. May not be as aggressive as a trangia (dont know as I dont own one) but for the budget price it does the job and helps people to get into the wild the same way you do

Great over view as always EW of a very affordable A Stove .
Got both the standard and military Trangia love the standard but the military is 25% bigger and built like a tank .
You can literally stand on it without causing any damage at all, however its a weighty piece of brass.
Using the standard Trangia combined with the cheapo OEX heat exchanger cook pot it boils 500ml of water in 3 minutes 30secs, if put on once its blooming which I think is real great for nice, quiet A stove

  • @NeathVideos

The lixada one is not made from brass,as it’s way to shiny, and will stay that way for a
    Long time.
Trangia burners are made from brass, which warms up quicker, and hence is able to bloom faster.

In answer to your question, ‘does it matter what you spend your money on’?
I think it depends if you want the Chinese (Lixada and all the other crap available on Wish/Ali Express) to have our hard-earned cash or we strive to keep smaller and local businesses afloat (not necessarily Trangia, but I’d still prefer them to have my money over China).

    Hi Dan,
I bought a Lixada folding wood stove based on a review by you, and I love it.
(It has the little alcohol dish too)
I keep looking at the Lixada alcohol stoves, but the aluminium one gets mixed review for the seal, this looks better and has the simmer ring.
And have you by chance seen a Speedster Stove (SBP) in use ? I think the stand and stove is also less than a tenner, if not, might be worth a look as you look for more stoves to review,
and it's a British company. Some people seem to use it with a BCB/KombatUK solid fuel stove instead of the Speedster stand

I got the Highlander version years ago, this version a couple of years ago and the Trangia. The Lixada wasn't as good as the other two but it's fine, it does the job. It's the stand I can't get on with, the legs (or whatever they're called) are too short, it doesn't heat the pot as well. I got a taller pot stand and all three versions are much better. I use an old boot polish tin with fire rope inside and these stands are really good for that. What alcohol are you using there?

It’s a great stove but don’t leave fuel in it mine leaks from the top lip some where can’t find out we’re exactly so keep mine empty and fill when being used. A tip with these is fill with fuel tighten lid and put in zip lock bag to see if it leaks but also protects your pack in case it does leak if you like to pack with fuel in it.

I've been toying with buying a stove like this. I tend to use the gas burner pocket rocket type stoves although I did make a cat-tin burner and it works really well. @@iwalker3809 Yes I agree, I've made twin-walled pressurised alcohol stoves and stopped bothering to use carbon felt or fibre glass as they work fine without it - it helps a little to prevent all the fuel spilling out if the stove is tipped over, but you're better off being careful to never allow them to tip over in the first place.
I now only use carbon felt for my fancee feast stoves and only use fire blankets cut up as a ground protector for alcohol/wood stoves.

Its a copy of the trangia stove.
Not bad but there are differences between them.
The flanve is not so big, thus it does nog fit pof stand propsrly it tips up.
The genuine tdagia burner does not, and fits properly.
Apart from that its a nice unit and does the job.

I’ve been using my Trangia for 25 years, the only bother I’ve had was when a mate used it and partially sniffed out the flame with the lid resulting in the rubber ring melting requiring a new one. £2 in 25 years ain’t sa bad. I’d like to see what these cheap Chinese knock offs will be like in 25 years.

The burner is supposed to sit on ground level. That provides one inch optimal sweet spot from jets to bottom of pot. Those 3 hooks are supposed to center the burner but are not the best design. The rest of the ideas are not correct.

What makes the difference between them is, the metal used, it’s heat conductivity, the size and spacing of the jet holes, and the wick, how fast the fuel can evaporate from the wick, how it holds the fuel it has soaked up. Presumably, the Trangia has been researched and tweaked over the years, and that is part of what you are paying for, that and the name, and import duties. I wanted to get a Trangia made converter, so you could use a small pot, such as a espresso pot, on the 27 or 25 set up. It just consists of some thick grade wire, welded together. On Amazon UK it was a whopping £30, as it was elsewhere in the UK. I got it on Swedish site for a more reasonable £7 or less. Rip off Britain strikes again!🥺😧😨😠

My cook kit serves me well. This is my minimal one, but have a bigger pot and pan, which I rarely take with me - all Lixada! “Mark Young” on here got me into Lixada. Do check his brilliant tests

Stove goes on ground and the pot holder goes on top of the stove. Trust me it works best that way, the way in video is wrong.
