    Interesting-I’ve never used those.

They are interesting stoves. They run from free to expensive. I got into them when I watched a video on burners made from a aluminum pop can.

    👍👍👍
Interesting. As a (slight) aside, herewith some 'useless information' 🙄😏 ..
'Speed to a boil' using a Trangia-Style Burner does not rate highest on my priorities. For that in an Alcohol Burner, I go also, like yourself, with a Fancee Feast.
'Cooking' stuff where a gentler more controllable burn is required is more my style. Yes, for 'flame control', gas / butane stoves are hard to beat but my preference is Alcohol.
Safety .. 'accidental knockover' and subsequent spillage of burning fuel rates high on my priorities in addition to 'cooking' as opposed to just 'boiling'. My Trangia can go into 'afterburn' very quickly .. especially during the warmer months and when enclosed in a windscreen.
I am busy experimenting with mitigating the above-mentioned .. knock over and a slower more gentle burn. I have filled the trangia fuel bowl with a combination of a loosely-packed Ceramic Glass / Wool base topped with a tight roll of Carbon Cloth. Results so far .. promising.
    * The hazard related to knock over is definitely reduced .. important in my neck of the woods as the Swiss have absolutely no sense of humour with those who burn down their forests or recreational areas.
    * 'Burn' appears to be more gentle .. especially when using the simmer ring. The burner takes longer to 'bloom' but for me, this is of secondary importance.
    * One advantage in colder weather (lowest test temp so far is 2°C) is that the burner ignites quicker and a pot can be put onto the stand immediately without the flame being snuffed.
    * Efficiency .. fuel consumption. I haven't tested per sé but an eyeball view hasn't noticed any appreciable difference.
    * Storage / transporting with fuel inside and possible leakage. I feel much more confident in that the fuel in the 'soak' tends to want to stay there.
    * Still 'work in progress' .. time will tell. I have also filled most of my Alcohol Burners with Glass Wool .. it is that and something I saw on You Tube that lead me down this path.
There .. useless info over 😊.
The Trangia is one of my favourites, namely the 'Mini 28' version and I'll stick to what I've got (besides, it's paid for 😏). Lightweight knockoffs .. naah.
Once again, an interesting share and thanks for that. Take care ..

The Trangia and Evernew are much better. At 50 F my Trangia will bloom in a minute or less and it's made from brass instead of some mystery metal.

The Trangia B25 burner has an inner cotton wick - made of Linen; a tube around the inner wall.
