I started meditating every morning since July 1st to help with old mental grumblings. A few days ago I was thinking negative thoughts just after coming home from a lovely walk in a nearby park. I could sense my vision zoom back and then forward again. I was looking outside thru the sliding glass window.. That was a physical refocus. Wow! The thoughts are not completely gone, but I can be at choice and make a concerted effort. I’m improving and reprogramming my mind each time I self-correct.

Hi Bruce, You are my go-to guy. I enjoyed the story of the Zen monks. I have thought that nothing physical or real can be in the past. Events come, and then they go without a trace remaining of the event. But, what we have left is a memory of the event, and the memory is a creation, not an event. Everything must happen in the present moment, and then it’s gone. Since the past is only unreal memories, it becomes as fluid as the future and, therefore, is open to change. So, if you have memories that are not serving you, change them. Oh, what a scary thought. Thank you for your insight. Mike

Thank you Dr Lipton, I love your videos and books ..you are right we have a choice to be happy. Like in the book A Course in Miracles say " Every decision I make is a choice between a grievance or a Miracle...I release grievances and resentments and I choose a Miracle"
Until you are raped, or you're child killed,than you will find out that there is no choice for everyone to just choose to be happy, you will find out that you have to go through the deep pain, unbearable grief and depression. This always be happy bs is gaslighting yourself and others. Human feelings can't always be so easily ignored by just choosing to be happy. If only it was so easy

3 months ago in 1 of my self hypnosis scripts I included "I am happy everyday " and within a week I felt happy everyday which is still continuous 😊 Thank you dr Bruce for suggesting self hypnosis

Happiness is not a state, it is a choice.
